PARCHMENT CRAFTING HAPPY WINTER WISHES

Hello Junkies,

I've got a fun technique for you to try.  Have you ever heard of Parchment Crafting (Pergamano)?  It's a parchment paper art which came from the Netherlands.  You can find lots of interesting examples on Pinterest, so I won't link any here.

The proper way to do this is with parchment paper, but not having it, I decided to try it on heatable vellum paper because it's heavier than regular vellum and not easily torn.  I really like the results and will be doing more of it, but thought I'd share this attempt using "Happy Winter Wishes" stamp set from the new January 2018 release with you.

After stamping the bunny with VersaMark ink and heat embossing it with white ep, on the vellum, I turned the piece over, face down, on a foam board I use for piercing.  Taking a stylus I used for dry embossing, I rolled it around the interior of the bunny's body.  Once that was done I decided I would color the scarf and coat with Copic markers (again on the reverse side).  When I was satisfied with the look, I fussy cut the bunny out of the vellum and mounted it on a pale blue cs panel I had already prepared with inked "hills" and the sentiment.  A touch of Copic markers for shadow/grounding, a few sequins and this card was done.

Dutch Door Valentine

If you are like me, you want your Valentine to receive a special card with a little more thought than just a few hearts stamped on it.  This is true for me even though my Valentine cards primarily go to my grandchildren and their parents.  So when I saw a Dutch Door card on another blog I knew I wanted to use that idea for a  Valentine.  There are tons of tutorials with a variety of measurements on the internet including on Splitcoast Stampers and Pinterest.  So have a search, but I will give you the measurements I used.

I used three Technique Junkies Stamps to create this card.  I used Love Heart - http://techniquejunkies.com/love-heart/  , Love Harlequin www.techniquejunkies.com/love-harlequin/, and Happy Valentine day -

Did you notice the goof I made in creating the background with the Love Harlequin stamp?  I stamped it ONCE and then accidentally dropped the stamp onto the card stock.  It created this perfect double image.  I liked it so I used it! It was a "creative opportunity."

These are the measurements I used:
1. The larger red panel is 4 1/4 by 8 1/2 inches. Score at 5 1/2 inches.
2. The smaller panel at the bottom is 2 inches by 8 3/8 inches. Score each end at 2 inches.
3.  The interior white panel is 4 inches by 5 1/4.

Directions:
1. Score each piece as directed above.
2. Using secure glue or tape adhere the bottom panel to the bottom of the card.
3. Cut background paper or card stock to an appropriate size for layering and adhere.
4. Create a flap to open the bottom "doors" with any design that appeals to you.

This is the last day to choose several stamps and take advantage of the 15% off sale of new stamps through January 8 but you may also use the TJ10Judy and get 10% off of anything else in her store.

Have a wonderfully creative day and get inky!

Catching The Kiss

Happy Saturday everyone! It's Janelle Stollfus here today with a little furbaby love called The Kiss from January's release. Isn't it a priceless catch between two friends!

Right now the entire January release is 15% until Monday no codes needed just drop them in your cart, and it's applied during checkout. Use code TJ10Janelle for non-release products in the store!

My card went together quickly with alcohol markers and Valentine theme papers, so it's ready to go in the mail.

Color the feline with Y11, YR31, YR23, YR27.

Color the pups ear with E04 and both mouths with RV91 and R83.

Blend the pups ear with W5 and shade the fur with W1.
Add a shadow under the chins on cats fur with BV11 and W1.

Color the background with BG000, BG01, FBG2.
Glue the finished image behind a stitched frame die cut and pop it up onto a square card with layers of pattern paper and colored cardstock. Tie a bakers twine bow around the bottom before gluing altogether. The fun dots are made with Nuvo Caribbean Ocean Crystal Drops.

TJ Inkspirations

This week I have a tutorial on my computer -- but alas, I have no voice. I have a cold that has robbed my voice box of reliable sound. Snce the cold has been with me for a week, I haven't been able to edit the video I had filmed (and trust me, it needs editing!).

So instead, today I did something different.  I have a video for you, but I don't talk!  As you may have seen, we had our January 2018 release on Monday, with 15 new stamps. I decided to combine all of the beautiful artwork from the Technique Junkies Design Team in one quick video so that you can see them all in one place, and hopefully get inspired! The work is gorgeous and I hope it stirs your creative muse.

I would love to hear your feedback about this video, and whether you would like to see one each month when we release stamps. I want to hear from you!

Before I show you the video, note that all of the January 2018 New Release stamps are 15% off through Monday January 8th. Simply add them to your shopping cart and they will be automatically discounted at checkout. Want something that is not in the sale? You can still take 10% off everything else by grabbing a code off of one of the TJ designers blogs (and all of them are listed below).
I have also been remiss in introducing the new Technique Junkies Design Team! These ladies are fabulous. I have a link to each of their blogs below. If you have a chance, take a look at their artwork - they are amazing!
But first, here is the video showing you the artwork :

Birthdays and donuts

Hello friends! Hope you all are having a great day! Giovana here today with a birthday card and much better it this one includes donuts!! This fun stamp is from our brand new release and it's called "Birthdays and donuts"

This card was super easy to make, here are the details:
  • Make a card base from white cardstock. A2 size. Top folded.
  • Die-cut a couple of background layers in Gold and Ocean Blue Cardstock.
  • Stamp image on a piece of cardstock in Jet Black Ink sing your MISTI, clean your stamp without removing it from your MISTI, then ink the stamp in Versamark Watermark and add clear embossing powder, heat set.  (This way your image will be a bit shinier)
  • Add color to image, I used Sparkle markers to give a shiny glittery look, sadly the picture didn't catch that.
  • Die-cut panel, then adhere them to card base with foam adhesive.

Remember the new release has an instant discount of 15% OFF until January 8th!
Of course you can get other stamps from the Technique Junkies store and use my 10% off code TJ10Giovana

Hope you like this project!
Have a fantastic day!

Butter my Butt

When I first saw the Butter my Butt Set of 8 Stamps, I could almost hear each one being said out-loud by one of my relatives (usually with a southern accent ... at least as from as far south as southern Missouri where I grew-up).

Remember, if you go shopping, all of these new stamps are 15% off until January 8th (and you can use my discount code TJ10Stephanie for 10% off you regularly priced items).

The first sentiment is something my step-mom said to us at least once a week (what can I say, there were four of us kids, and we were a handful) ... I'm pretty sure each time she said it, it was likely well deserved.

I thought the sentiments from this set paired perfectly with vintage images.  My background is some Gel Press deli paper.

This one features another Gel Press print with a picture of some cute kittens having breakfast ... you know there is some gossiping going on with those eggs ... Just Sayin'.

This vintage picture is of two women buying some "Canned Joy" at the grocery store ... if only it were that easy ... because we all know this sentiment is true.

Have fun shopping all of the fun new release stamps.

Remix of Inky Borders

Happy New Year!  Beth Norman here with a tutorial which is a spin off of October 2012's Inky Borders.  I just love the way this turned out, mainly because I'm so in love with the newly released Kitty Duo and Love Harlequin which are 15% off until January 8th.  My sentiment, A Good Friend, is not on sale but if you use my code below, you will receive 10% off your order. I have girlfriends that are celebrating their birthdays this month and thought I'd make several of these cards to give to them for their birthdays.  It's a quick, and easy technique.
Supplies:  5 1/4" x 4" cardstock, 2 to 3 stamp pads, 2 to 3 sponges, Post-It notes, Decorative stamp such as a background stamp, Silhouette image, Black ink pad, sentiment (optional--not shown in photo).
Place your Post-It notes on the upper third of your card.  I left 2" white space.
Sponge on coloured ink until your white space is entirely covered
White space is entirely covered
Using your decorative stamp, stamp over top of your sponged area
Stamp out your silhouette stamp as normal.  If you own a Misti, now is the time to pull it out.  What an awesome tool to get excellent coverage.  I stamped my image out twice to get a crisp black image.
Next, add your (optional) sentiment.  Once again, I used my Misti for exact placement of my sentiment.  I stamped out my sentiment twice to obtain a crisp dark image.
You are now ready to complete your card with matting and embellishments if you wish.
