Which Crown?

Hello Technique Junkies Fans!

So sorry to be late today; I have been under the weather.
This is a quick and easy card using the funny Need a Crown stamp.  I paired it with the Scribble Roses stencil from A Colorful Life.  You can get these products for 10% off with code TJ10LeeAnn.

The image with sentiment was simply stamped on a card base using the MISTI.  I colored the woman with Copics.
The card base was then put back in the MISTI (stamp still in position) and inked up the crown portion of the stamp with Versamark.  The crown was heat embossed with gold ep. I used a Versamark marker to ink up the earring and heat emboss it as well.
I created a mask for the woman and then sponged light pink ink around the her.  I then used a darker pink ink and sponged through the Scribble Roses stencil.  Rhinestones on the crown and earring finish it off!

That's it!  I hope I have inspired you to get crafty!

Shimmering Sunflower

Happy Saturday, Technique Junkies!
It's Ceal here to share a card with you today using one of our August releases along with the new gorgeous sprays.
Remember you can save 10% on your entire order excluding new releases and clearance by using my code TJ10Ceal

To create the card I started with a Smoky Slate card base and a white panel cut down with a stitched die. I placed the panel inside the Mini MISTI and then positioned the Flower Texture Collage over it, first I inked it up with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and then sprayed Mindaro, Miami Vice and Mardi Gras sprays over it. After the sprays dried which takes like 2 seconds I colored the sunflower using Copic markers and then spayed the entire panel again using Iridescent shimmering Bliss

TJ Inkspirations: Shimmering Island Stencil

As Labor Day approaches, it is nearly time to bid summer adieu. Today's video tutorial is the Technique Junkies way to send summer off in a shimmery way.

Technique Junkies  Shimmering Bliss Sprays are a natural fit with stencils, so today we are using them together in a quick video to show you some ways to combine them.  We throw some stamping in there, too!

The stencil being used - Island Flowers by A Colorful Life Designs is certainly a nod to the end of summer, and combined with the colors used in the video, will make your heart yearn for hot days and a sweet breeze.  Of course, any of the techniques in the video may be used with any stencils and colors.

Here is the video this week:

Purple Wishes In The Wind

Greetings, and welcome.  Lynda Joy here, with a card in my favorite color!  Love my purple, and all the shades and hues.
I created the background for my card with Technique Junkies Shimmering Bliss on Strathmore multi-media paper.  I spritzed on the Thulian Pink, Ocean Depth, and the Dazzle Shimmering Mists onto my craft mat.  Then I ran an acrylic brayer through them, and ran the brayer down the panel.  I love the way this creates that ripply look on the background.   I repeated this until I achieved the desired look.

When it was completely dry, I put the panel in my Misti, and stamped the Technique Junkies NEVER STOP MAKING WISHES stamp.  I stamped it about three times to get full coverage and darkness.

Some layering, striped patterned paper strip , and some fun dazzly fibers and mini sequins finish off my card.

Don't forget your 10% off your purchases by using my code, TJ10Lynda, at the checkout.

I hope you are enjoying these last weeks of summer fun.  Be sure to stop back on September 1st for the Technique Junkies September new release blog hop.

Blessings,

Shimmering Leaves

Hello, Junkies! Toodle Noodle Ro with you today. Been feeling a little Autumn-y lately? I know I have. It's my favorite time of the year. I'm looking forward to all the beautiful colors Mother Nature has to share.

And speaking of beautiful colors...what better method to color some beautiful leaves than with the Shimmering Bliss sprays! I used five different colors and I am in absolute awe of how shiny and seamlessly they blend together!  The colors used are Dragon's Blood, Harvest Sunset, Golden Olivine, Luscious Lawn and Imperial Yellow. Oh.Em.Gee!!! Can you say GORGEOUS?!!!

These leaves will definitely give ol' Ma Nature a run for her money!

I used the stamp set Autumn, Set of 6 (SS078) on this card which, despite it's elegant beauty, was super simple to create. I stamped each of the three leaves several times on Neenah White Cardstock using Versamark ink. I then embossed with copper powder, sprayed with the luscious Shimmering Bliss, then cut out each leaf.  I stamped the sentiment in the same way on a piece of brown cardstock.

Each leaf was arranged on the cardstock and attached using Nuvo glue. I trimmed off the edges of the overhanging leaves, added a knotted piece of twine, then attached that panel to a green piece of cardstock cut slightly smaller than an cream colored A2 card base. That panel was then attached to the card.

I just can't get over how lovely these leaves turned out.  Can you see all that shimmer? It is so hard to capture on film just how exquisite this shine is!

If you are loving these sprays and stamps, it's easy to save 10% on them by using my special code.
Hope you enjoyed my card and are looking forward to Autumn and all the beautiful colors as much as I am.

Til next time,
Keepin' it inky!

SO SHE DANCED

Hi there Technique Junkies fans!

I have a new card to show you today and a fun way to achieve some interesting rain/water texture.

If you like the stamps I used here and would like to purchase them, you can find them, and many more, in the Technique Junkies Stamp store.  Use my personal discount code at check out and get a full 10% off your order TJ10CHERI.

I began this card by inking a light blue card stock panel with various hues of darker blue dye ink.  Then, using my MISTI I stamped  "Rain Dance" on the panel in VersaFine black pigment ink.  I left the stamp in the MISTI and restamped it several times in order to get the depth of darkness I wanted.  Once dry, I stamped "City Watercolors"  over the first image setting a background.

I let the entire panel dry again and once dry, I took some acrylic white paint and a plastic fork.  I dipped the fork into the paint and dragged it arcoss the panel producing the white rain and splashes. It doesn't show well in this photo, but for added sparkle, I sprayed some Iridescent Shimmering Bliss on my craft mat and using the plastic fork, applied it using the same technique....I loved how this turned out.

The sentiment "So She Danced"  in black VersaFine pigment ink as well.  Done!

I hope you like this and found some inspiration.  Try this plastic fork technique and see what you come up with!  Have fun!

Here's my discount code, once again, for your happy shopping!!!

Voice of the Sea

This was a fun card to create.  I used die cuts birds in the sky, and die cut vellum sea weeds, and Nuvo Glitter drops for bubbles in the ocean.  I enlarged the card so you might be able to see transparent vellum "waves" across the blue center.  Stamps are from the Technique Junkies Stamps Sea Horses - http://techniquejunkies.com/seahorses-set-of-4/.  Both the verse and the sea horse are heat embossed with detail black embossing powder.  The sea horse is cut out.  However, I did not cut our the tiny little tendrils from the sea horse.  I used MISTI - http://techniquejunkies.com/misti-most-incredible-stamping-tool-invented/  -  and positioned  the sea horse on the card and then removed the colored in sea horse, and only inked up the tendrils and stamped with black pigment ink, and heat embossed.

A 10% discount can be yours if you use the discount code TJ10Judy when you check out with your order.

May a marvelous day be yours, and that you have some time to get inky!!
