Whimsical Garden

Happy Monday!

I had some fun with Born to Fish (set of 5) and Whitecaps background stamp. I stamped the Whitecaps background first with blue ink on light blue cardstock and then highlighted a bit with a white gel pen. Then I used my MISTI to stamp the fishing scene from Born to Fish.

In the Butterflies

 I hope you are enjoying your week-end everyone. 

I had a bit of fun making this card yesterday for my post today. Rarely do I do "people" stamping, but this stamp intriqued me, and who doesn't like butterflies?

 When cutting the piece of waercolour paper I picked a piece with a rough edge and kept that edge in my design. I stamped the image on Fabriano 140lb hot press watercolour paper using Ranger Archival ink in Jet Back. I then painted using Zig Clean Color Brushes direct to paper. Once finished I went over the butterflies with Wink of Stella. 

I then stenciled the card base using A Colorful Life Designs stencil, added the watercolour panel under the stencil and continued stencilling using Wendy Vecchi Poppy ink. When completed with the stencil work I attached the watercolour panel to my card base using fun foam and scor-pal tape, stamped the sentiment in my mini Misti and added a few gumdrops to finish my design.

Beach More, Worry Less

Hi Technique Junkies! It's Janelle today with a relaxing scene to enjoy for a weekend project! My family lives inland so it is a treat to spend time at the beach. We just seem to worry less enjoying the sounds and sights so today's card is perfect for a sweet memory of our times there.

Beach More was stamped on white cardstock and masked by using sticky notes cut to cover the hat and bag plus the beach line. Sponge your favorite colors of ink for the sky and sand, then remove and color! I added a white pen highlight to the sentiment and some glistening sand around the bag for fun!

Make a Splash

Hello friends!

Hope you all are having a great day!
Today, I have a card using a couple of stamps from the new June Release!!

Here I used Dolphin and Make a Splash.

Details:
Stamp Dolphin on white cardstock in Black Ink.
Color image with markers, create sea waves using markers, colored pencils and a white gel pen.
Create a mask for the sun background. Die-cut piece.
Stamp sentiment on white cardstock in Chocolate Ink, die-cut it with banner dies.
Add Make a Splash sentiment to panel.
Adhere a white panel to a blue card base.
Add stamped panel to card with foam adhesive.
Finally, add drops of Nuvo drops in different colors.

Saltwater Heals Everything

Each year my Sister and I try to spend a week together in a new location ... and in recent years, those locations have often included the beach.  We both love feeling our feet in the sand, listening to the sound of the waves, and collecting sea shells.

Memories of those experiences ... and looking forward to our upcoming trip together next month inspired my card designs.

I started by creating a watery background by spraying three different Shimmering Bliss Sprays on Watercolor Paper ... I love the color combination of Ocean Depth, Miami Vice and Vivid Volt.

All of today's cards feature the new Underwater Borders Stamps.

For the first one I combined it with the Saltwater Heals Everything sentiment and some wonderful Tropical papers from the new Paradise Found Collection by Kaisercraft.  I also stamped the Mermaid from Mermaid Kisses several times to peek through from the top of the panel.

For the next card I used a different Underwater Borders stamp and added two stamps from the Seashells Stamp Set before finishing with some sequin "bubbles" and the Saltwater Sentiment again.

And my third card the combines the Underwater Border with two stamps from the Mermaid Kisses set ... I love how well these stamp sets work together to create a card set filled with underwater wonder.  I'm also linking-up at the Summer Fun Challenge at Always Fun Challenges.
