Vintage Lighthouse

Hello fellow stampers!

Everywhere I turn, I see nautical cards, household decor, etc.  I'm feeling extra nautical this summer because my husband bought a cruising boat this summer, so much of my free time is spent at the marina on the boat.

It's extra fun working on nautical cards, now that I have a boat, and there is no lack of nautical images at Technique Junkies.

Here I used Ropes on my background, coloured in two different colours using my Misti, and Vintage Lighthouse in my foreground.

You can get these, and any other product that is not in the clearance rack, for 10% off with my code TJ10Beth.

Don't forget to come back tomorrow for some more inspiration.

Dream Without Fear

Happy Monday!

Sometimes a card comes together really fast and still looks great. This is a good example of that happening. I always have a stack of backgrounds in my stash. This one is watercolored. I had planned to use it for another projects but the colors seemed wrong so I put it away for later use. Well... when I saw the Summer Bouquet image I knew it would be perfect! I stamped in black ink and then added a little shading and the leaves with markers. I finished the card off by adding the Dream Without Fear sentiment. Ta dah! Done.

Hope you enjoyed my project!

Putting My Foot Down

Hello!  Lynda here with a card for you from one of the July release stamps.
Isn't this Zentangled flamingo adorable?  I thought so.  And it's the perfect verse to go with her!

I used the TJ stamp Foot Down.  I stamped it onto white card stock, and colored her with markers.  I cut along the right side, following the contour of the image.  On another white piece of card stock, I stamped it again, onto light blue card stock.  I brushed on some blue ink along the edge where the words are.

I added the cut-out panel to the blue panel along the left edge.  I used foam tape to give it dimension.  I added the whole shebang to a pink glitter panel, and added that to an A2 card.

Inside:

For the inside, I stamped the Flamingo SD890 stamp, twice.  I added some pink ink with a brush.

Summer Bouquet

Hello everyone!
It's Ceal, here to share a card with you today using this gorgeous Summer Bouquet stamp from our July release.  To save 10% on this stamp and your entire order from Technique Junkies Stamps just use my code TJ10Ceal at the checkout.

To create this card I used the no line coloring technique. I started with a top folding white card base and created the background by using a stencil.
I stamped the  Summer Bouquet on a piece of white card stock using Gina K Warm Glow Amalgam ink and colored it using Copic markers. The warm glow ink fades away as you color giving it a no line appearance.
To finish the card I cut the floral bouquet out using the Scan N Cut and then popped it on the card front using foam tape.

Stamp a Bookmark!

As soon as I saw the new Sailing Panel (SD902) stamp, I knew I wanted to create a bookmark with it. I've been reading a lot lately and always have some ugly scrap of paper or receipt marking my place. Why not make a beautiful bookmark, I asked myself. So, I did. And I love it.

I started with a premade white tag. After stamping the image in a light blue ink, I trimmed down the panel to a good size for a bookmark. I add a little color to the water and boat sails with colored pencil. A pop of red was added using a Nuvo Glitter Marker. I also used a Glitter Marker to edge and add a sparkly border to the tag. The sentiment was stamped in a darker blue ink with the Beautiful Ride (SDX091) stamp.

I love the simple elegance of this stamp combo. Every time I pause my reading, I can now do it with a beautiful piece of art.

Foot Down

Hello to my fellow Junkies. Kia here with you today and I am putting my "Foot Down." Or I should say this fun zen Flamingo is putting her foot down.
We painted a Flamingo in my watercolour class that I attend and we used a lot of different colours to achieve our final results. I liked mine so much I framed it for my living room.
I wanted to do a Distress Oxide background, so I took my cue from that class. I used 6 colours for this background. Pinks, Corals, and a bit of Marmalade, building the colour as I went along.
Once I was finished the colour and dried the piece I die cut using my Deckled Rectangle die. I added a few splatters, then added Nuvo Shimmering Pen in Midas Touch to the Flamingo's body, neck and beak, along with more splatters.

To finish up I added black fun foam to the back of my panel, attaching using Scorpal tape.

This is a video of my process:

I hope you have enjoyed this card and thank you for joining us today here at Technique Junkies.
