Wildflowers Silhouette

 Hi there!

It's my day to post here on the Technique Junkies Design blog, and I'd like to share two cards that I created, with some new April release products.

What better way to start out, than by using a classic black and white theme? The white heat embossed image is so vibrant on the black background!

This card features S889 Wildflowers Silhouette, and SS117 Five Fab Phrases.

This next card began with a background panel. The 6 Square Shadow Stencil, some Distress Oxide Inks, and blending brushes were used to create a pretty panel, which was then lightly spritzed with Shimmering Bliss 'Dolphin Cove'. Once the panel was ready, the image S889 Wildflowers Silhouette, and the image 'SS134 In the Garden were stamped onto the panel with black Versafine ink. The focal panel was adhered to a black card base.

Light House Vertical Z-Fold Card

 

This is a typical Z-fold card -- but the usual orientation is horizontal.  I turned it vertical.  Cut your base card stock at 11inches by 4 1/4 inches.   Score at 5 1/2 inches and 2 3/4 inches.  The measurements are the same  whether the orientation  is horizontal or vertical.  This is a Z-fold card I did on April 4, 2020. 

For today's card I used several Technique Junkie's stamps:  Wildflower Silhouettes from the April 2021 Release,  Vintage Lighthouse, and a verse from Mae West Sentiments. 

I used a 3 x5 sticky note to form the horizon line.  Then I applied  several shades of blues, a light green and a light purple to create the water.  To create the sky I punched a circle from 2 pieces of sticky notes neat the sticky part.  I placed the hole  a short distance away from the  horizon line and using a sponge dauber I colored in the sun, and then added a lighter reflection in the water.  Next I colored the sun with the punched out circle.  The I used the 3x5 sticky note and covered the water leaving the sky a blank canvas.  Then I used the Cloud Edger stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.    I used a variety of ink colors with an ink blending brush,   Then I used a sponge with darker blue  around the edges to try and imitate a night time sunset.  

The flowers and the verse were heat embossed with clear embossing powder over black pigment ink.

Where Flowers Bloom

 

Good morning, Junkies!  It's Holly posting today, and I'm here to share this shimmery ombre card I created for Technique Junkies.  This beautiful new stamp is called Where Flowers Bloom, and I embossed it with white powder onto some white cardstock.  I sprayed the top area with Festive Flamingo Shimmering Bliss and the bottom with Just Squeezed Shimmering Bliss.  This created a beautiful ombre effect with a gorgeous shimmer which you can see in the picture below.  

I used the Festive Flamingo Shimmering Bliss to spray some seam binding as well.  I covered the ribbon with the spray and then scrunched it up with my fingers before letting it dry.  I love that distressed look of the ribbon with the shimmer everywhere.
