Foiled Learn to Surf Flowing Zen

 OHHHH I love this saying! What a great reminder to make the most out of whatever comes your way. My background uses a silver-embossed Flowing Zen stamp from the July 2021 new release. Lighthouses

Hi there!

It's my day to post on the Technique Junkies Design blog. I have 2 cards to share today, using two beautiful new release stamp sets, #S921 Lighthouses and #SS136 Lighthouse Sentiments , from Technique Junkies. 

Here's my first card:

Wow! This is such a beautiful release to work with! To create the background for this card, I squeezed a bit of blue, brown, and white acrylic paint onto my Gel Press, and brayered it a bit. I laid the #S909 Flowing Zen stamp onto the Gel Press, pressed gently, and carefully removed the stamp, and replaced it with a piece of white cardstock. I let the cardstock dry, then stamped the sentiment and image with Versafine brown ink. Finished this one off with a nautical die cut and a little brown twine. I love how 'stormy' the background ended up looking.

Moving on to card two:

The focal panel was colored with Copics. Once I finished coloring, I spritzed water onto a bit of Distress Oxide Inks, and laid the card down, moving it here and there, until I got the 'perfect' amount of splatters. I grabbed a scrap for the sentiment, and put it down into the ink prior to stamping the sentiment. 

These were both pretty easy to create, and I'm having a lot of fun with the July release!

Accept What Is

 

I am sure you know  and have experienced there are times in our lives that what we had hoped for does not happen.  There are many times this happens in life.    This verse is just so very true.  

It is Accept What Is.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I used blending brushes and the Cloud Edger Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs to create the background.

Lighthouse in Storm

 

Good morning!  It's Holly posting today.  Today is the 4th of July, so I have a card with patriotic colors on it to share with you.  I used the new Lighthouses stamp from Technique Junkies and I stamped it on watercolor paper.  I wanted to have a halo of light around the top of each lighthouse, so I painted yellow halos with watercolor paint, and then I added the red paint to each of the lighthouses.  After the yellow and red paints were completely dry, I added in the dark blue paint.  The sentiment is from the new Lighthouse Sentiments set (also from Technique Junkies), and it is the perfect sentiment for my stormy lighthouse background.
