Glitzy Lace

Hello, Kathie McGuire here sharing a very bright and glittery card with you today. This card was made using the Glitzy Lace (4/10)technique. Since I love all things shiny, Glitzy Lace is a technique dear to my heart!

Smooch Painting Sneak Peak from CD 8 by Judy Jackson

I just love this new technique called Smooch Painting on the CD 8. Have you ordered yours yet? Email Pat Huntoon to order CD8 right away! It is such an elegant way to use those yummy Smooch paint colors. And they are so nice and easy to work with.

The pear stamp is by Rubber Stampede and the words are from A Stamp in the Hand. I stamped the words on a teal green vellum I have had in my paper stash for years and years. Isn't it fun when you actually can match papers from your stash? The delicious teal shimmer paper can be purchased from Paper Temptress. The bling are actually faux bad stickers.

This is an ATC I created for a swap and I had fun creating this ATC!

Somethin' Sweet....

Is what this little Ghostie is!! Jane Bosi comin' at you with a little Halloween fun! I know, I'm cutting it a little close with my Cuttlebug Smoosh (August 2008) share--last week's Try That Technique--but didn't it turn out cool? LOL!! Thursday is just around the corner so, if you haven't tried it--get goin'! There will be a new technique to try in a few days!

The Ghostie stamp is from I Brake For Stamps; the sentiment is Amuse. I've had my eye on that little guy for quite some time. He sure was fun to color with my Copic markers. I also had the chance to pull out my Copic airbrush--that always makes for a good day!

Speaking of good days.....go have one!

My husband and I have the pleasure of grandchildren. While we had our own three children and we enjoyed them very much -- those of you who are grandparents know there is just something special about grandchildren! My youngest grandchild is a boy - Ruben - and he lives with his Mommy and Daddy in Sighisoara, Romania. His parents are missionaries there. So we do not get to see them very often -- but Skype is a wonderful tool!

His second birthday is coming soon and he loves trains. So what could more appropriate than a train card for his second birthday. I used a stencil to create the clouds first and the grass with two different shades of green at the bottom. The train track is a roller wheel stamp. All of the cars of the train are stamped and then cut out and layered on the track on the inside.

There is an accordion fold in the middle so the card can stand up. (Those are not mountains as you might think but a shadow from scanning -- I think I need to clean my scanning bed.) This train scene reminds me of a children's book named Freight Train by Donald Crews. It is a perfect book for toddlers as there are very few words on a page and it is bright and colorful.

I masked the train, added the trees and sponged them to fill in color and to add some depth. I stamped some cattails with first, second and third generation stamping to add interest and some perspective.

Stamp credits are Stampin' Up, Inkadinkado (greeting in the inside), and Stampscapes.

I hope Ruben enjoys his birthday card! Gramma sure enjoys Ruben!

Wisped right Out of the Box by Ann

Ann Clack here!  This is a card for my grand-daughter's birthday tomorrow and features the TJ techniques called Wisped Frames and Out of the box.  The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil......words are Stampin Up!  Colored with copic markers.  I really needed my lightest W.....W1.......but it was AWOL.....;-(

New Year??? It is September. Yes, tonight it is Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. All over the world Jewish people will eat a sweet apple with honey to wish each other that the coming year will be very sweet indeed. The apple and the honey jar is one of the symbols you see on lots of cards people send each other. I was so happy to find this digital freebie on FireCracker Designsby Pamela. The text I printed with my computer. The apples are colored with copic markers and on this card I  used the whisped frame technique from the Feb/March 2010 newsletter.

Below you find the same digital stamp but used large and smaller. The honey jar I designed myself. This card is called a zig-zag card and is from the latest newsletter Aug/Sept 2010. On both cards I used Club Scrap paper from the Arts 'n Crafts kit.

So I wish all my Jewish stamping friends a "L'Shanah Tovah" (a very happy New Year)  and a wonderful creative beginning of the year 5771.
