Smooched Metal Meets Worn Wallpaper by Judy Jackson

As a rubber stamper I have learned to appreciate the various qualities of many inks. Not all inks are created equal. Distress Inks are a unique kind of dye based inks and they are really fun to work with. I have a friend who came over and we spent the morning playing with Distress Inks and using several of the TJ techniques that use Distress Inks. She is a subscriber to the TJ newsletter but hadn't used her Distress Inks until recently.

So this is a card I worked on toward the end of the morning. I didn't get it finished until tonight. The metal tag near the top is where I used the Smooched Metal technique. I used the Brick Texture Fades embossing folder and that is where I used the Worn Wallpaper technique. I added some filmstrip acetate strip, a vintage photo, a ticket piece, Tissue Tape, various ribbons, and a chip board button from my stash to add different elements to the card. This card is larger than most cards I have created. It will likely be a "one-of-a-kind" card. It was certainly fun to make!

I used stamps from Stamper Anonymous and Inkadinkadoo.

Acetate Swirl

Happy Stamping Saturday!! Hello from Kathie McGuire! I'm here today sharing one of the fastest, easiest and most economic TJ technique EVER--"Acetate Swirl" from the Technique Junkies CD#6.

The technique takes only minutes to do! Then, it's only the drying time needed for the glue.

Sometimes design sketches just really appeal to me -- and this one from the October 2010 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter did for sure! So I created several cards using this design sketch. It is fun to see how different cards will look using the same design sketch. I used the Greeting Card Kids set, a word set, and punches from Stampin' Up! for these two cards. The Halloween card also uses the Worn Wallpaper Technique from the August 2010 Newsletter. Aren't these little girls sweet!

Greetings, Friends!
Just a quick share today using the Warhol (2/05) technique along with the Simple Green Spritz (4/08). I got the idea while playing lifeguard at my local YMCA (lots of time to think!) and was able to complete the whole thing in under 20 minutes!!! Gotta love that! I'll have the expanded story on my blog with a bit of a contest in a day or two ;) Be sure to check it out!

Inchies used on cards had been something I wanted to try for some time. That resulted in the By-the-Inch Technique that I created for the October 2010 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. I found I liked turning the squares -- it added to the visual interest of the card.

All of the stamps on this card are from Stampin' Up.

We have a lot to be thankful for -- and stamping and creating are some of those things.

Ann's Twisted Tole

This week's "TRY THIS TECHNIQUE" was for Paper Tole.  I've done this in the past but have ignored it for a long time.  It was fun and easy to do.  You should try it if you haven't before.  For this card, I wanted to do something that was quick and easy.  Most of my cards are NOT quick nor easy so this one would be very different for me.  The image is from one of TJ's sponsors, Twisted Papers.  The background color of the image and the card-stock are a very creamy white.  Really more lovely in person.    Now it is your turn to give the technique a try!!
