Sea Shell Deconstructed Collage by Judy Jackson

This was a fun card to make using the Deconstructed Collage technique. There are a lot of element to this particular collage stamp to choose from. This sea shell collage stamp is made by Impression Obsession.

And thinking about the beach and sea shells in the winter cold of January is a bit "warming!" As I hear the cold wind blow outside, I know I would prefer to be at the beach -- wouldn't you?

Ann Clack's Valentine

Here is a cutie for you!  I made three of these for my grandchildren.  The image is from Sweet and Sassy stamps......I just love this little mouse!  The technique is cuttlebug highlights. 

I did something brand new to me too!..........I cut the hearts behind the mouse with my brand new Cricut and the SCAL2 program.  I created the heart myself!  The scallops really came out a lot smaller than I imagined....a learning lesson for sure!  The looped red border is also a freebie from SVGcuts.com.

Try That Technique: Wet Stencil

Hi, it's Beth here with this week's Try That Technique. Diana Enns and I enjoyed our vacation and now it's time to get back into the swing of things, so this is our first challenge for 2011.

Side Step Christmas Card

Happy New Year, my TJ friends!!! Kathie McGuire here wishing you a Happy Brand New Year!! A year for creativity, crafting, and trying some new and old TJ techniques.

This card features a technique from the Fancy Folds and Motion CD called "Side Step Card". You'll probably be seeing a lot of these from me, as they are my new favorite project.

This card went to a dear friend of mine--someone all of you know--Pat Huntoon. I changed the measurements a bit so that I could fit a Sizzix die cut Christmas tree on one of the steps. Other elements were from my stash: the wreath is from a Jolee's Boutique package from Michaels, the satin trees are from a roll of trim purchased years ago at Michael's, and the spiral background paper was a gift from a friend. I love this design for that very reason--I can use small pieces of various things that all come together for a great card.

I hope you enjoy the project, but most of all, I hope you try the Side Step Card technique if you haven't already.

Skewed Pyramid for Chinese New Year

Hi, it's Beth here with Skewed Pyramid from this month's issue.

Are you enjoying the holiday season? Did you eat enough ham and turkey? I did.

My Skewed Pyramid card is perfect for my Chinese New Year party that I have each year. Guests are surprised with a home-made card every year, and I'm excited to share this cute card.

Image is from I Brake for Stamps and works perfect with the technique. Sentiment is a rub-on from a package that I bought at Hobby Lobby.

Image was coloured with Prismacolor pencil crayons. Oh how I love my Prismacolors. I have done many tutorials, on my blog, using them.

Try That Technique will resume next week. In the spirit of the holiday season, I will announce that the technique for the week of January 6th is Wet Stencil from April 2009. This will give you plenty of time to get your cards started. We would be thrilled to have more of you join in, in our challenges. Pretty please :)

Acetate Flowers by Judy Jackson

I used a digital image of a map and stamped the background words and images. I happen to find the fabric brads with a travel theme in a craft store -- and they were being discontinued from their stock.

The acetate flower was fun to create and added a very interesting element to the card.

Acetate flowers can add a lot to a card or to a scrapbook page.
