Glimmered Texture Easter Card by Judy Jackson

This vintage Easter Bunny image is from the seasonal papers by Tim Holtz. I created the frame with the Glimmered Texture technique. I used an A2 sized paper and created a small piece of cardstock with the glimmered Texture technique. Then I used a die cut to cut out the frame.

I mounted the focal image on green and red card stock. I used white metallic paper to tie both the frame and the vintage bunny together. Paper Temptress sells this beautiful paper. It has a lovely shimmer to the text weight paper.

Some ribbon and stick on bling finish off the card!

Burnished Background on Paperclay

Happy Stamping Saturday from Kathie McGuire! I'm here again with another "twisted" TJ technique. I always seem to have my fingers in Paperclay lately, so here's another Paperclay project with a Technique Junkie technique. I did this technique 2 weeks ago, but I'll explain the details again here. LOVE IT? See my previous post (scroll down a few) to see another project using Paperclay with this same technique!

This is from the Agust/September 2011 newsletter. I gave it a bit of a twist by using the background technique on ©Paperclay and instead of burnishing along the lines of a stamp, I pressed a Cuttlebug embossing folder into the clay and burnished with Distress Inks along the lines the folder created. As a note, I rolled the Paperclay out onto a Teflon crafting sheet to the thickness of a nickel, pushed the folder into the Paperclay, and then baked it in my oven for 15 minuntes at 250 degrees. Then, I applied Ranger's Distress inks using the Burnished Background technique.

Paperclay is so light, that I was able to attach it to my card base with double sided foam mounting tape. The background stamp is from The Rubber Cafe; it was stamped onto Kraft cardstock with Distress Ink.

Delft Tiles and a Butterfly by Judy Jackson

Another terrific technique from the Emboss or Die CD! You have ordered yours, haven't you? There are so many wonderful technqiues on this CD. You will love it I am sure.

I was drawn to this technique as soon as I saw it. Several years ago, we moved from near Albany, NY to south central Pennsylvania. Dutch immigrants settled in the Albany and Schenectady areas several hundred years ago. The Dutch were famous for their blue and white tiles. They often painted pictures in blue on the white tiles. The pictures on the tiles were not just decorative. The tiles were often placed around the opening edge of fireplaces. These Delft Tiles were tools to teach the children how to read, Bible stories, math, and sometimes history.

While these Delft tiles on my card do not teach anything, they are still lovely and have a very high gloss -- just like real tiles do! Ribbon and some bling finish off the card.

The butterfly is a vellum sticker and the sentiment stamp is by Stamps 'n' More.

Ann's Antique Wallpaper

Here is a darling image for you from Sweet and Sassy Stamps.  This little Sunflower girl just screamed for a tiny bit of sparkle so I used my Spica and Glitter Gel pens.  The background is one of the techniques from the new Emboss or Die CD called Antique Wallpaper.  It was also featured last summer in the June/July issue.  There are sooooo many great techniques on that CD.  The image is colored with copics.  Enjoy!
