{Jane Bosi} I've been challenging myself lately to see how many TJ techniques I can scrapbook with. Today, I'm using a technique from the most recent newsletter, Foam Shadow Stamping. My finished page measures 8 x 8--the size works perfectly for applying techniques and for when I only have one picture I want to use. My stamp image is from I Brake For Stamps and is called Butterflies. It's the perfect accent for this page and a wonderfully versatile image! Other stamps are from Amuse and Stampin' Up! Anyone want to join me in some technique based scrapbookin'?Tuesday, April 12, 2011

Cuttlebug Highlights and Glimmered Texture by Judy Jackson

I sure hope that by now you have purchased the Emboss or Die CD. If you haven't -- run and click your fingers to order this CD.
I used another vintage Easter image from Tim Holtz. I chose designer background paper to be used with the Cuttlebug Highlights technique for the background.
A strip of white lace and some pearls were chosen for embellishments. Then I used a small piece of Glimmered Texture paper to use as an accent over the bottom right hand corner of the vintage focal image.
These vintage Easter images so remind me of many picture books for young children.
I hope your spring is nice and warm -- with creativity flowing from your stamps to paper!

Ribbon Spiral Strip
Hello, Junkies, Donna here! Today I've got something highly unusual and very rare -- a scrapbook page made by me. I can't remember the last time I did a layout, but I needed to make one for the Class Act blog challenge so here it is.The technique I'm featuring is called Ribbon Spiral Strip and it's from the October/November 2008 newsletter. My version is wider than what was shown in the newsletter (I started with a 2" strip), and I used pearl cotton thread instead of ribbon.
From the same newsletter, I also used a bit of Cuttlebug Highlight, a technique I use so often that I forget that it's a technique.
The stamps used on this layout are from Class Act, Inc. and I colored the images with Copic markers. Papers used include kraft paper and Heavenly White from Paper Temptress. I love the Heavenly White paper with Copics, by the way.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Try That Technique

Hi, Beth Norman here, with another week of Try That Technique. This week Diana and I challenged each other to create a card, or project, using the Scored Diamonds technique, and is found in the April 2010 issue as well as our new Emboss or Die CD.
This technique was one that was created by Pat herself. Thank you, Pat, for another awesome technique.
Each week we pick a winner, whose card will be posted onto our Yahoo group home page for the entire week. Your name will be in spotlights, along with your card. All you have to do is submit your card using the Scored Diamonds technique to our Yahoo group.
We have a winner from last week's Watercolor of White. Congratulations Barb Benson. Your card is now on our home page.

Glimmered Texture Easter Card by Judy Jackson

This vintage Easter Bunny image is from the seasonal papers by Tim Holtz. I created the frame with the Glimmered Texture technique. I used an A2 sized paper and created a small piece of cardstock with the glimmered Texture technique. Then I used a die cut to cut out the frame.
I mounted the focal image on green and red card stock. I used white metallic paper to tie both the frame and the vintage bunny together. Paper Temptress sells this beautiful paper. It has a lovely shimmer to the text weight paper.
Some ribbon and stick on bling finish off the card!
Is it Spring yet where you live? I hope so.

Burnished Background on Paperclay

Happy Stamping Saturday from Kathie McGuire! I'm here again with another "twisted" TJ technique. I always seem to have my fingers in Paperclay lately, so here's another Paperclay project with a Technique Junkie technique. I did this technique 2 weeks ago, but I'll explain the details again here. LOVE IT? See my previous post (scroll down a few) to see another project using Paperclay with this same technique!
This is from the Agust/September 2011 newsletter. I gave it a bit of a twist by using the background technique on ©Paperclay and instead of burnishing along the lines of a stamp, I pressed a Cuttlebug embossing folder into the clay and burnished with Distress Inks along the lines the folder created. As a note, I rolled the Paperclay out onto a Teflon crafting sheet to the thickness of a nickel, pushed the folder into the Paperclay, and then baked it in my oven for 15 minuntes at 250 degrees. Then, I applied Ranger's Distress inks using the Burnished Background technique.
Paperclay is so light, that I was able to attach it to my card base with double sided foam mounting tape. The background stamp is from The Rubber Cafe; it was stamped onto Kraft cardstock with Distress Ink.
I hope you enjoy the card and thanks for stopping by today!

Try That Technique: Watercolor Over White
(Beth Norman) Good morning. Wow, is it Thursday already? I'm surprised at how fast the week goes because I make my card for Try That Technique on Mondays, and before I know it, it is time to post my card for you. This week's challenge is to create Watercolor Over White, from the 2006 CD, where you will find it as a bonus technique.
The challenge for you is to join in and create a card and submit it to our Yahoo group, for your chance to win a week on the Yahoo group home page for the week.
This week's winner is Beth Ullman who submitted her Faux Shaving Cream card from last week's challenge. Congratulations Beth. Your card is now on our Yahoo group home page.
