Antique Wallpaper

{Jane Bosi} This past week's Try That Technique was Antique Wallpaper so, I thought I'd share my take on it! I've used a lovely stamp from I Brake For Stamps and sentiment from Our Craft Lounge. I hope you'll try the challenge too! You can find it in the June 2010 newsletter and on the Emboss or Die CD--give it a whirl!!

Graduated Color by Judy Jackson

No, the ink isn't faded -- yes the color tones are the same family, and yes you can create this card with the use of the Graduated color Technique form the current April/May 2011 newsletter! My focal image stamp is from Stampotique and the sentiment is from SmART Works. A few layers, some ribbon and beads, a punch and voila, your card is completed. This sentiment works for a Thank You card, a birthday card, or just a Thinking of You card!
When you need a card quickly, this is a "go to technique!"
Happy stamping and get those fingers inky!

Gingersnap Creations with Scene Stamping by Judy Jackson

Scenic Stamping from the August/September 2007 newsletter continues to be a favorite technique of mine. I don't use it all the time because I just need a little inspiration from time to time. But I thoroughly enjoy creating a scene with my rubber stamps and some ink! I purchased these stamps from Seaside Stamping, Stamps 'n' More, Inkadinkadoo, and My Sentiments Exactly just for the purpose of the Scenic Stamping technique, I was very pleased to be able to use these stamps with the Scene Stamping challenge this week from the Gingersnap Creations blog!
Summer weather and the beach just seem to go together. I love sitting by the beach and reading a book -- and just relaxing. Of course spending time at the beach with my little grandchildren is always a delight.
What scene will you stamp this week?

Graduated Color Card by Judy Jackson

I created the A2 sized glossy card stock with the Graduated Color technique from the April/May 2011 issue of the Technique Junkie newsletter. I used a lace stamp from Stampin' Up! I used a Spellbinder die to cut out the special shape I wanted. I wanted to used this altered puzzle piece on this card and so chose my colors accordingly. The razzleberry background was stamped with a large stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms. I wrapped a wide piece of ribbon around this piece of card stock and layered it. I placed a piece of gold lace along the edge of the ribbon. With all of the other embellishments on the puzzle piece I felt adding another piece of card stock -- or even vellum -- would be just too much so I stamped the sentiment on the razzleberry card stock. Unfortunately, even after several attempts to get a clear sharp image, it just didn't happen. the verse reads, "The memories we gather and give connect our lives as long as we live..." and is from SmART Works. Other stamps used on the puzzle piece are from Stampsmith, Hero Arts, and Heather's Stamping Haven.
I hope you have a fun creative day!
