Reverse Clear Stamped Butterfly by Judy Jackson

The Reverse Clear Stamped technique is just so cool! It is from the current Technique Junkie newsletter.  I love this stamp from Close to My Heart.   I do wish that this butterfly could fly Spring here a little faster. I am tired of cold weather! 

The focal image is layered on black and then on some scraps of technique papers from so long ago I do not remember what the technique was!  Background paper is layered on the card base.   a strip of the background paper is adhered under the punched out border.

In the Middle for my Friend

It is funny what you find when you are cleaning up your stamp room.  My desk has a real nasty habit of piling up so today was the depiling day.  I found the front of this card that I had made a few months back.  Funny how it looks better today than the day I made it.  That cool looking rose stamp isn't really a stamp at all.  It is actually the cut off end of a bunch of celery.  Isn't that cool?  I used a Technique Junkie technique called in the middle. 

The other thing I found on my desk while cleaning up was a project that was only half finished.  I did an image trade with a friend and my images back to her have been delayed......a LONG time!  I thought, Enough is enough!!  I finished getting them stamped up and they will go with this card to her.

Shimmer Glimmer Sparkle and Shine CD Blog Hop!!

My first card (above) is the Foiled and Glittered technique.  This is one of those techniques that made me say, "Oh wonderful!  I have that gold leafing and I haven't used it in years!"  There  is no stamping but I used a embossing folder and a die cut on this card.  The shimmer is just beautiful on this card!

My next card (above) uses the Distressed Pearls technique.  Stamp credits belong to Artistic Outpost.I also used the Cuttlebug Smoosh technique from November 2007. I used Distress Stains instead of brayering ink. Oh so shimmery!

This card (above) uses resist technique called Distress Shimmer Resist. This is one of my favorites on this CD.  You never know exactly how the card stock will look when you are done, and I love the variations of colors and the shimmer on this card.   Stamp credits go to Stampers Anonymous and Stampin' Up! Just gorgeous shimmers!



My last card (above) for you today uses the Distress Marker Shimmer.  It is a wonderful way to create an unusual background.  I also used some scraps of designer paper for additional interest.  Stamp credits go to Stampin' Up. Such sparkle!

Triple the Fun

It's a very chilly morning here in Central Virginia! Good Morning to all, Nancy Dawson here with a great technique featured in the February, March 2013 TJ Newsletter!

Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeage and Pink Pirouette is the color combination. I used Stampin' Up's new O' Whale stamp set and Patterned Occasions from Sale-A-Brations. Love the idea you can cut the whale with the matching Sizzlits Die! Triple the Fun is such a super technique, now give it a try and I'm sure you will get hooked!

Cricut Embossing

Hello everyone,

Two weeks has once again gone by in a flash. The technique I used is the Cricut Embossing technique from the Emboss or Die CD. This is a really fast and effective technique that I will most certainly be using again. If you haven't given it a try, I suggest you do. You will not be disappointed! The sentiment stamp is from Club Stamp and one of my favorites. The Cricut cartridge I used is Damask Decor.

 

If I may, I have a couple of tips for this technique:

     1.) When you remove the cutting housing from your Cricut to turn the needle around, turn the housing dial to the highest setting (which is #6). This will give you you a better impression.

   2.) If you are not pleased with the impression, turn it over and use your embossing stylus to improve it. Place it on a soft mat so that you can get a good embossed look.

Glimmer, Shimmer, and Shine CD Sneak Peak by Judy Jackson

Do you love using glimmer and shimmer and shine in your projects?  I do.  Then this coming Friday, January 25, we have a Blog just for you!  This is one of my cards on the CD.  That is metallic gold paper behind the iris focal image and the embossed metal.  The happy birthday stamp is from Stampin' Up.

I really do wish you could see this card in person. This scan doesn't do it justice. The shimmer and shine are just wonderful. The iris has gold leafing and the background is glitter. Oh my how it sparkles!

There is a layer of embossed metal inked up with alcohol inks.  The metal was a "scrap" from some other project.  I save those types of pieces in a drawer and I regularly look through that drawer for elements to use on my cards and projects.

Inked Shadows by Judy Jackson

 

I used a die cut from Sizzix.  I sponged ink on the flowers as well.   Stamp credits are from Stamp Camp. I spritzed some glimmer spray to add some highlights!  I LOVE glimmer spray!  It often adds just the right touch.
