TOTW Tissued Watercolors

What a great technique this is from the current newsletter! It's like getting two techniques in one. You have to make the Crinkled Watercolor technique so you can then make the Tissued Watercolor technique. Two cards for the effort!

This card uses all Technique Junkie stamps. Don't you love the verse? This is the lighter watercolor of the two cards I made. I rather like the pastel look.

This card also uses all Technique Junkie stamps. Quite a different look with the bolder colors.
This is a fun and versatile technique. Give it a try and post your creations to the yahoo group.
See you back here soon!

Technique of the Week - Tissued Watercolors

Hi Junkies, Tricia here again with this week's technique of the week.  Hopefully you kept your tissue from last weeks technique of the week because we challenge you to use it for this week's technique of the week - Tissued Watercolors.  I actually used 2 different pieces to make this background.

Stamps:  Gina K Designs (colored it with copics)

I hope you have a crafty day!

Throwback Saturday - Double Emboss & Cut

I made this card for my girlfriends daughter who graduated college.  I used my copics to color her dress and to color my flowers to match.  The background is done with the Double Emboss and Cut technique from the October 2011.  I love this technique...it gives such a great effect to your spellbinder die cuts.  I have to remember to use it more.

All papers are from Gina K Designs.  I used my various dies.  I quilled the roses and lilies.  Stamps are from Saturated Canary, Stampin Up! and Gina K Designs.

Crinkled Watercolors by Judy Jackson

I hope you had a wonderful July 4th celebrating freedom in the USA -- that is if you are an American.

The technique I have to show you today is called Crinkled Watercolors from the current newsletter.  This technique is one of those when in utilizing this technique you will actually create TWO backgrounds.  That is always a plus in book! So this week I will show two cards made from this part of the "doubled technique."  Next week I will show you the next cards made from the "left overs" of today's technique.  I hope that intrigues you!

The stamp credits for this card are Hero Arts, and I think some are from Stampsmith.  However, they are unmounted stamps I do not remember who made them. The "Everything has a story" stamp is from Impression Obsession.

The stamp credits for this card are Paper Bag Studios, Stampers Anonymous, and Impression Obsession.  This focal image started it's existence as an ATC for a swap.

Come back next week  to see the next two cards from the "left over" part from this technique!

What are you creating today?

Gesso Off

This technique is from the 10/2009 newsletter. I am having fun going back into the archives so to speak and trying the techniques that I have long forgotten

This card was really a joy to make as it comes to life as you go along.
The stamps used are from Sizzix, PSX and Technique Junkies.

It appears that I need to clean the glass on my scanner, LOL! I haven't had use of my desktop in several days. We are having some serious dust storms which they have recently named haboobs. I didn't think I was going to be able to post my card at all. I gave it one last try before going to bed and got lucky.

I hope you find some inspiration here and try some of the oldies but goodies.
I will be back next week with the TOTW.

Wishing you all well,
Jackie K

TOTW - Crinkled Watercolors

Hi Junkies, its that time again, the Technique of the Week.  I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.  I love being able to try all the techniques and I really anticipate who will join in each week with their lovely creations.

This week we are featuring "Crinkled Watercolors".  This fast became one of my favorites and I know it will be one that I continue to use...maybe in some Christmas card (which I need to start soon) LOL...Maybe a Christmas in July will come to Try That Technique...who knows...stay tuned.

Well I digress...here is this weeks card.  My mom needed a card for my cousins wedding last weekend so I colored up this sweet image from Stampin Up!  My cousin and his new wife love to ride and they are not frilly people so I thought this CAS card would do the trick.  I colored the image with copics and watercolored the background with my copic refills to match my background.

The sentiment is from Stampabilities and is cut out using a spellbinders die.  I added a little flair with a stencil and my airbrush (which I believe is another TJ Newsletter technique :))

Well that's all for me. Hope you have a crafty week!
