Nature's Rainbow

Hey Junkies!!

The Crafty Nurse here to help you through your week with some creative inspiration using both new and old stamps.  The first is one of Pat's April release stamps "Art of God SD799".  I paired this with clearance stamp called "Age Spots #SD087", which is the perfect way to add a "splash" of color to your cards or art journal pages.

One of the cool tips I learned about adding embellishments is to add a drop of Stickles or Nuvo Drops to the center of your sequence.  This adds just a little detail that can really make your project shine.

I hope this post brings some sunshine to your day!  Please join us over at the new Facebook group, we'd love to see your work.

Bye for now,

How to Make Stained Glass

Hello fellow stampers.  It's Beth Norman here with a Stained Glass tutorial.  Unfortunately you cannot see the sheen left on the card from the Sparkle embossing powder I used (you can buy it at Michael's.  It is a Recollections brand).  Trust me, it's beautiful in real life.

You can purchase this stamp using the following code.  You can also use it for other items with some exceptions listed within the code.

Supplies:  Large stamp (here I used Darling Blooms), black ink, VersaMark, Sparkle Embossing Powder, heat gun, pencil and ruler (not in photo), paper cutter (not in photo)

With your ruler and pencil, draw lines on the back of your image.  This creates the stained glass effect.

Lay your pieces out, making sure they are placed in the correct position
Place your cut pieces onto black cardstock and press VersaMark over your entire image
Cover image with Sparkle embossing powder and heat emboss
You're now left with stained glass.  I do hope you are inspired to try this technique out.

Dimensional Mother's Day Card Video Tutorial

Mother's Day is right around the corner, so I thought we would celebrate this momentous occasion with another Video Tutorial. As some of you know, my mother has passed, but I still have a wonderful Mother-in-Law that I adore who appreciates receiving cards (you may also notice that I created the How Blessed I Am set to honor the other special women in your life, too).

Keep in mind that the stamp here - and all of the April release stamps -- are still 15% off through the end of tomorrow (4-8-27). Simply put your selection in your shopping cart and the stamps will be discounted at checkout.

Our video combines Distress Oxide Inks with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse for a beautiful dimensional effect. Here are the products we are using in today's tutorial:

Honor and Love Stamp

Distress Oxide Ink - Worn Lipstick
Nuvo Embellishment Mousse - Lilac Lavender
Nuvo Mousse - Gunmetal Grey
Distress Oxide Ink - Wilted Violet
Gilded Gold Fairy Dust Spray

A Colorful Life Wispy Vines Stencil

Mother's Day Card with Dimension

Today we launch the second technique video tutorial this year from Technique Junkies.  Our card today is a dimensional Mother's Day card that uses a Distress Oxide background, Nuvo Embellishment Mousse through a Stencil, TJ Stamps, and some fairy dust thrown in for good measure. Here is our card:

The full tutorial is on the video, here:

I also wanted to say thank you to those of you who offered their opinion on the videos. Please note that I will try to narrate as I shoot the video so that they are not quite as serious ; ) Apparently some of you like my sense of humor!
I hope you are a little inkspired by today's issue. See you next week!
Sincerely,

One Background, Three Different Looks

Hello, Fellow Junkies! Don't forget...
I don't know about you, but I am still oohing and aahing over the new Watercolor Flowers Background Stamp.  I have had so much fun playing with it and creating different moods. Along with that, I have used You Are The World for the sentiments.

While I was playing, I came up with three cards, all using that Watercolor Flowers stamp as a background, and all three cards couldn't have a more different feel. One is sparkly and bright, one is dark and elegant, and one is light and airy. What do you think?

For the first card, I embossed the background and used a Nuvo Glue Pen and Nuvo Pure Sheen Glitter to accent the floral part.

For the dark and elegant version, I embossed with silver on a black cardstock. The sentiment was embossed on vellum.
And for the light and airy card, I white embossed the background and used watercolor to enhance the image. A die cut with a partial sentiment and some ribbon and Nuvo Crystal Drops finished off the card.

I hope you enjoyed our hop showing all the new releases. If you missed it, just head back to the April 1st post and you can hop along to all the great DT blogs.

Don't forget the discount on the new releases ends April 8th. But if you'd like to save 10% on everything else (excludes new releases, clearance, Distress Oxides), simply enter TJ10Ro at checkout!
Keep those fingers inky!

A Single Rose

And now for an IMPORTANT announcement, if you place ANY order from Technique Junkies and you use the code TJ10Judy you will automatically get a 10% saving on your order!  Please use this code when you place your order!

And from April 1- April 8, you will automatically receive a 15% discount on the Technique Junkies Stamps April releases.  Discounts are not given clearance or the Distress Oxide products.

I used the April Technique Junkies Release Butterfly Dreams - www.techniquejunkies.com/butterfly-dreams/  and A Single Rose - www.techniquejunkies.com/a-single-rose/.  The image was colored in with Copic markers. The verse was heat embossed on vellum and layered on a small piece of card stock and then adhered to the  card front.   I tied several lengths of ribbon around the side of the focal card layer before tying a bow.

So now go shopping, do some stamping, and get inky!

Here is the order for the hop:

I would also like to invite you to join the Technique Junkies Facebook Group, which recently moved from Yahoo.  We have a fun, interactive group with plenty of artwork for you to view! Simply search Technique Junkies Group in Facebook or copy and Paste this link:

Here are a couple projects to start us off!

My first card uses Row of Birds and You Are the World (set of 3).
I stamped the sweet birds in light brown ink and then watercolored.

I did some simple watercoloring for the backgrounds of the two panels. I used my MISTI to stamp the pretty Butterfly Dreams girl a few times to get a good solid image. The flowers were inked and then misted with water before stamping onto the background.

Time to move on to Lanette's blog for the rest of the hop! Have fun and make sure you take advantage of the 15% discount on the April 2017 Release stamps!
