Love and Laughter

Hi! Jeanne here today with a watercolored background card.

I created a washy background by adding water to my paper and then using Distress inks. I used Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid Lagoon. After my paper was totally dry I stamped SD767 Love and Laughter Floral with black ink using my MISTI. I love using the MISTI on watercolor paper because you can restamp your image as many times as you want to get a nice image.

This is such a happy phrase. Here's a closer look.

All My Boobs

Hi there! Jeanne here today with a quick and easy card with a funny (but sweet) message.

I made a quick background with some watered down Distress inks and a paint brush and then swiped my ink pad across my paper. Let dry completely before stamping.

I added SD660 Love Hands and SD663 With All My Boobs using my MISTI Tool.

Best stamping tool ever.

I did a little pen Faux Stitching on the edge of my card to finish it off.

TJ Inkspirations - Retro Card with Nuvo Mousse

I exhibit at 20 or so trade shows per year, and either demo or run a Make and Take at each of them. This years we have been doing a Make and Take, allowing people to try the Nuvo Mousse or Glimmer Paste with stencils on tags. Since the best way to explain how to do something is to show it, I make quite a few tags at each show, always trying to use different colors and stencils. Today's card was inspired by one of the tags I made at a show. And it has no stamps on it... Better than Unicorns!

I used a lovely stencil and Nuvo Glimmer paste to create this focal image panel.  http://techniquejunkies.com/nuvo-products/?sort=featured&page=2 .  The Technique Junkies stamp is called Unicorns and Sparkly - http://techniquejunkies.com/unicorns-and-sparkly/  .  

The verse is heat embossed with detail black embossing powder.   This is such a cute saying and can be used for a  variety of occasions.   A ribbon bow was added for interest.

TJ Inkspirations - Gilding Flakes as Grout

I have been in love with Gilding Flakes for a long  time. They add great shine and luxury to stamped cards and project. Today I have a video tutorial for you using the flakes between pieces of designer paper - reminiscent of grout. While I used the technique with a Mother's Day card, using the You are the World Set, you could use this background for any kind of card, changing the mood of the card with the paper. Today we launch the third technique video tutorial this year from Technique Junkies.  Our card today use Nuvo Gilding Flakes as grout for a designer paper chevron background. Hey Junkies!!

The Crafty Nurse here to help you through your week with some creative inspiration using both new and old stamps.  The first is one of Pat's April release stamps "Art of God SD799".  I paired this with clearance stamp called "Age Spots #SD087", which is the perfect way to add a "splash" of color to your cards or art journal pages.

One of the cool tips I learned about adding embellishments is to add a drop of Stickles or Nuvo Drops to the center of your sequence.  This adds just a little detail that can really make your project shine.
