Sunday Underwater Scene

A lovely Sunday morning to you!  Lynda Joy here on the TJ blog.  It's my turn to post on the blog today.  I have a card made from one of our June release stamps, Underwater Borders SS107.

I kept it a simple, single-layer card.  I Stamped one of the scenes from the Underwater Borders set onto a desert storm A2 card front, using antique linen distress ink.  I used a light ink, as I wanted to color the image in the no-line fashion.

Inside
I colored the scene with colored pencils, then hand-lettered the verse onto the card.

Inside, I simply stamped one of the other scenes from this same set of three underwater border scenes onto a panel of blue card stock and attached it to the inside.  I left room for a personal note.

Vintage Lighthouse

Hello Junkies!
It's Ceal, here to share a card with you today using one of our new release stamps, Vintage Lighthouse. You can save 10% on this stamp and your entire order by using my code TJ10Ceal.
To create this card, I started with a top folding Black Onyx card base and a watercolor paper panel. To create the background I used the Miami Vice and the Dolphin Cove Shimmering Bliss sprays. I sprayed them together on my craft mat and the dipped the bottom of the piece of watercolor paper in them. Next I stamped the lighthouse image in black and then used a rectangle die to cut it out and placed it back in using foam tape so it popped up a little.
I love the look of crashing waves made by the Shimmering Bliss.

TJ Inkspiration: Now What? Video Series

When I packed up my demo bag from the last trade show, I had an enormous stack of beautiful backgrounds from the Aladine products I was demoing. It occurred to me that you might also have this happen to you when you are playing with a new medium.

To solve this, and use up all of the beautiful pieces, I am launching a new video series today called "Now What?"
I hope this video inspires you to play with new mediums AND use them on real projects.

The video is over 13 minutes long - it was distilled down from almost two hours, so be prepared for parts of the video speeding up as I go along.

Want to try these inks yourself? You can take 10% off by using the code Aladine at checkout. The discount expires 6/20/19, so hurry up and get your discount today! I have a hard time keeping my hands off these inks, and I think you will love them, too.

Let's get to it! Here are all of the piece I made in the video:

Enjoy Every Moment

I don't know about you, but I have a plethora of scrapbook paper. I started out as a scrapbooker and eased into cardmaking. With both hobbies, though, I found that I absolutely love beautiful paper. While I don't do as much scrapbooking as I'd like to these days (I'll get back to it eventually), I still drool over some of the papers I've accumulated.

As I was fondling some of my stash recently, I came across a few pieces that I knew would be a lovely background for greeting cards. So I made up several backgrounds and attached them to card bases. This particular one kept calling my name. I didn't want to add too much more since it was a busy background already, so I just added a a little white paint to create a more solid background for the sentiment stamp, Enjoy Every Moment (SDX146), which was then stamped in a coordinating ink. What do you think?

One of the things I love about this sentiment is that it can be used for a myriad of occasions...birthday, anniversary, wedding, retirement, bon voyage, promotion. That's a lot of mileage for one little stamp! If you'd like to add this versatile stamp (or anything else from the TJ store) to your collection, I can save you a cool 10%. Simply enter TJ10Ro at checkout!

Hope I inspired some fresh new ideas for you!

Til next time,
Keepin' it inky!

Whimsical Garden

Good morning folks!  I had so much fun making this card that I decided it is one of two cards I teach at my card class for my co-workers.  I used Technique Junkies Whimsical Garden, and if you use TJ10Beth discount code you automatically receive 10% off of the stamp and any other product you add to your cart (minus clearance stamps).
I hope you are enjoying your weather.  Here, in southern Ontario, Canada, it's been cloudy and rainy for over a month.  Saturday was the first beautiful day this summer.  Our poor farmers are a month late planting because the fields are so wet.

Have a terrific week!!

Good Life

Happy Monday!

I had some fun with Born to Fish (set of 5) and Whitecaps background stamp. I stamped the Whitecaps background first with blue ink on light blue cardstock and then highlighted a bit with a white gel pen. Then I used my MISTI to stamp the fishing scene from Born to Fish.

Don't forget if you are ordering today you can get  an additional 10% off by using the code TJ10Jeanne at Technique Junkies!

Hope you enjoyed my project!

In the Butterflies

I hope you are enjoying your week-end everyone.
I had a bit of fun making this card yesterday for my post today. Rarely do I do "people" stamping, but this stamp intriqued me, and who doesn't like butterflies?
When cutting the piece of waercolour paper I picked a piece with a rough edge and kept that edge in my design. I stamped the image on Fabriano 140lb hot press watercolour paper using Ranger Archival ink in Jet Back. I then painted using Zig Clean Color Brushes direct to paper. Once finished I went over the butterflies with Wink of Stella.
I then stenciled the card base using A Colorful Life Designs stencil, added the watercolour panel under the stencil and continued stencilling using Wendy Vecchi Poppy ink. When completed with the stencil work I attached the watercolour panel to my card base using fun foam and scor-pal tape, stamped the sentiment in my mini Misti and added a few gumdrops to finish my design.

Thank you for joining me today here at Technique Junkies. Don't forget when shopping to use my discount code which follows.
