Shimmering Mermaid Tail

Are you a fish or a mermaid? I'd like to think I'm a mermaid! The tail was colored with Nuvo Glitter Markers and the Background is the ACLD Currents Stencil that has been sprayed with Multiple Colors of Shimmering Bliss: Dolphin Cove, Vivid Volt, and Mermaid.

The stencil was held down with Pixie Spray - creating gorgeous distinct lines.

Escape in a Sailboat

This card may look complicated but it really isn't.    But there were a few steps.

1. I stamped the Stormy Sea border twice,  and used blending brushes with several shades of ink to color in both borders.  It didn't matter if i neatly applied the ink or not because  I would be fussy cutting both borders.

2.  I used the cloud edger stencil  to create the sky with several shades of ink.   I brought the sky down as far as I thought I might need it because I was going to layer both Stormy Sea borders at the bottom.

3. I stamped the sentiment from Ocean Frame Stenitments as high as I could on the cloud panel.   I stamped it with Versa fine black ink and heat embossed it clean embossing powder.

4.  I positioned the fussy cut first Stormy Sea border  so that  the sentiment was not covered and adhered it to the panel.

5. Then I stamped the sail boat section of the Sailing Panel and colored the boat with Copic markers.  I fussy cut out the boat and positioned and adhered it to the first Stormy Sea border.   Then I adhered the second fussy cut Stormy Sea border over the boat and the first Stormy Sea border  so that the sail boat looked like it was really sailing through that story sea to get back to land.

6. Then I trimmed off any excess from the finished panel.  I knew there would be excess so I planned for this.  I layered it on navy card stock, and then on the yellow.    I am positive that sailor knows he has escaped the ordinary and will be glad when he returns to solid land!

Life is Better at the Lake

The weather is hot and everyone is going to the lake to cool off.  What is your favorite activity?  Scuba diving?  Kayaking?  Surfing?  Riding the waves on an inner tube?

This card depicts all the fun activities you can do at the lake.  I stamped this Watersport Doodles from Technique Junkies with permanent black ink and then watercolored the whole thing with Distress Inks and a wet paintbrush.  The sentiment is from the Better At the Lake set, also from Technique Junkies.

Vitamin Sea Beach Scene

Creating a beach scene was easy with blended distress oxide inks, the Stormy Sea Border stamp, and the Cloud Edger Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. I topped my beach scene with the Beach is my Therapist stamp to finish it off. I'll take Vitamin Sea any day of the week!

Glitter Shell Waves

Our pretty little Shell Waves background stamp was made even better with the use of Kaisercraft Glitter Markers on the shells. The Dance with the Waves sentiment from the Ocean Waves Sentiment set is a perfect compliment to the motion of the waves!

Zen Sea Turtle with Background Stencil

Hello, Tracy Shultz, The Hopeful Crafter, here to share two cards that feature stamps from the June 2021 Technique Junkies new release. There are so many wonderful ocean themed cards in this release. I paired the Zen Sea Turtle stamp with the Ocean Frame Sentiments, Set of 5: to create several cards:

I stamped the Zen Sea Turtle using Versafine Clair and Catherine Pooler Ink (Lime Rickey). I heat embossed the turtle with clear embossing powder and cut the turtle with my scan and cut machine. I colored the Circular Motion stencil from A Colorful Life Designs with Catherine Pooler Inks (Tranquil and Cove Blue). I stamped one of the sentiments from the Ocean Frame Sentiments Set of 5 on a piece of blue shimmer cardstock and then trimmed the sentiment with the Deckle Trimmer. I layered the stenciled background on a piece of turquoise glitter card stock. I used foam tape to pop both the turtle and the sentiment up off the card base. These layers I adhered to an A2 top folding landscape card base. For my second card I followed the same steps but used different ink colors for the turtle and the stencil, a different sentiment and green glitter card stock as a mat base.
