I used an older Christmas stamp called Draped  Ornaments.   The verse is from Light of Faith.  Both were heat embossed with detail gold embossing powder.  The ornaments were colored with Twinkling H2O's.

Perfect Pearls Retro Ornaments Card

 Hello! Tracy Shultz, The Hopeful Crafter here with a post for you. Last week a  brand new Technique Junkies release dropped and these fresh new stamps are perfect for creating holiday cards!  Today, I have four cards using Perfect Pearls and Embossing powders to create some classical holiday looks.

To create my gold Perfect Pearls background I followed these steps: 

1. I stamped the Retro Ornaments stamp onto black cardstock using Versamark Ink 

2. I used Perfect Pearls from the Ranger Metallic Perfect Pearls kit to dust over the stamped Versamark panel.

3. I sprayed a light layer of water on the Perfect Pearls panel. This seals the Perfect Pearls. 

4. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Light of Faith Stamp Set of 4 on gold card stock and  used a stitched rectangle die to cut out both the sentiment and the Perfect Pearls Card Panel.

5. I used foam tape to pop up the sentiment panel and adhered everything to an A2 card panel.

I was born in the 60's.  Is that why I love retro so much?  This fun ornament stamp is called Retro Ornaments Background.  Merry & Bright came from Victorian Greetings, set of 6.

Steps to Making Card

• Cut turquoise card to size 4" x 5 1/4" and copper mat at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
• Take a dark colour of ink, such as a deeper turquoise and blend edges, leaving the centre light (original colour of cardstock).  Let dry completely before the next step.
• Rub embossing buddy generously over the entire cardstock.
• Heat emboss using gold embossing powder
• Add a banner with sentiment using the same colour as the mat.  Here it is a copper.
• Whalaa.  You're done!

 

Christmas Frame

 The new Christmas Frame is just perfectly sized for each of the Light of Faith sentiments. The beauty of it is that the frame works both horizontally and vertically; there are two of each sentiments in both orientations.

For my cards today, I am using the new Retro Reindeer Stamp (#SD1119) and Christmas Words Set (#SS028) that is from a previous release:

To create my cards, I first created a subtle background using a the Delicate Snowflakes Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. I used light blue ink (It's a Boy by Catherine Pooler) to ink blend the stenciled background. I then stamped the Retro Reindeer and the word Peace from the words set (I used Versafine Claire Nocturne Ink).  I then used a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (Snow Hill Edger 1) to create a snow bank for the deer to be grounded on.  I added some gems for a final embellishment.
