Antiuqe Glimmer Mist - Penny Black kitten

I had one person tell me they couldn't open the attachment in my email so I thought I would put this on the TJ DT blog.

I am sure you are going to love this technique! I usually make several all at once since they are so easy to do and produce such wonderful results!

The link is now live so read about this wonderful technqiue and create some work. OK -- you can wait till you eat the turkey and all the fixings.

I colored the kitty and the butterflies with my Copic markers and used some Spellbinder die cuts for the background .

Enjoy!

Winter Scenic Season

I made another "Scene Silhouette" card using the set Scenic Season from Stampin' Up! I was tired of tearing paper to use for the clouds or hills background. So I used a Sharpie and drew "cloud humps" on a sheet of clear plastic I had saved from some packaging material -- possibly from a Cuttlebug embossing folder. These are great to save for a variety of tools -- even cutting them straight and using in your stamp positioner.

I started with white card stock. I sponged a variety of colors for the sky, sponged a light amount of a grayish blue for the snow at the bottom, inked up the trees with dark green, inked the snow line with the same grayish blue ink, and finally used a red marker and inked the bird. I added the sentiment at the bottom inked with black ink.

The sun is setting and it looks like it will be cold, crisp night!

Praying for You

I have really enjoyed the technique Scene Silhouettes from the August newsletter. This card uses the stamp set from Stampin' Up called Scenic Season but I cut off the words "Seasons Greetings" before I mounted the stamp. I could easily see this set becoming as absolutely versatile as the Lovely as A Tree set. So I didn't want to limit the use of this set to only Chrsitmas cards. I tore some computer paper to create the clouds and sponged colors a sunset and dusk fast approaching. I created grassy hill sides direct to paper using three different green ink spots and then sponging Soft Suede ink over the greens. I was inspired to create this card as I sat in church on Sunday. The words for one of the songs was overlayed on a sunset type of sky and I immediately thought of creating this card. I sponged the edge of the card with Not Quite Navy and then with Soft Suede inks. I am going to send this card to a friend who has recently had a serious health issue diagnosed. I hope you enjoy this card! It was fun to make.

Summer by the Sea

I know this doesn't look like a "fall" card but I have loved these summery, wispy images from Stampin' Up! Doesn't this make you want to head to the beach and avoid the cold that is coming -- at least to the northern climates of the USA!
I colored this image with my Copic markers. I have done a lot of work with those markers while I have been recuperating. I couldn't bring every thing upstairs to the recliner so I had to pick and choose what to have near me. I have also wanted to do more practicing with these markers.
I also added glittery highlights with my Sakura Stardust clear pen. It is too bad you can't see the highlights around all of the layers on the card. I even traced over the word "wish" with the pen.
Enjoy the cold -- and look forward to Spring and summer which will surely come. But not soon enough for me!

Burnished Background & Painted Puzzle

Hope y'all are having a wonderful start to your week this week! I also hope you are all enjoying life and the beautiful autumn season. Where I am, the leaves are starting to change their colours and the air is crisp and cold. Just little things I'm thankful for!

Here's a card using 2 techniques, Painted Puzzle, a bonus technique from CD #7 and Burnished Background from the October '09 issue. Both are fun techniques to be sure and the possibilities are endless. If you haven't gotten your latest CD release, I encourage you to do so. The bonus techniques on the CD will blow you away!

On my card, the stamp image on the puzzle is from Paperbag Studio. Background is from Stampin' Up! Click photo to enlarge. Enjoy!

Until next time, may mojo live happily in your heart, and may passion bloom in your soul. Be well!

Snow Buddies

Happy Wednesday!! I'm pleased to be sharing this cute project I made featuring the Sepia technique! What a great technique--currently featured in the TJ Newsletter!

My supplies are all from Stampin' Up! The base of my card is Kraft cardstock. I've also used Brocade Blue, Bravo Burgundy and Ultra Smooth White cardstock. All of my images are stamped in Chocolate Chip. The stamps are from Snow Buddies (Level 2 hostess set) and Sparkly and Bright.

The front panel, which is hard to see in the photo, has torn "snow" banks that are all glittered up! Can't have snow without a little bling!
I hope you've enjoyed my Sepia project and are inspired to try this awesome technique yourself!

TTFN, Jane

Colorwash Batik

It's fall in the Northern Hemisphere! As much as I hate to see summer fade away, I do love the colors associated with autumn. One of the techniques that shows off those colors---or any others, for that matter---is Colorwash Batik from the December 2006 TJ newsletter. Spray washes of any kind will work for this great technique, and your results will please you.

Leaves image ... a 10-year-old stamp from Embossing Arts Co. Sentiment from Impression Obsession.
