My Valentine Mermaid!
I have four little grandchildren - three girls and a boy. This year for their Valentine's cards I am doing something very different for each one. I am making a punched figure as the focal image on each one.
I am not creative to figure out how to use punches create people or animals from punches. Fortunately, there are lots of folks out there who are! The original mermaid was crafted by Hewitt Hulse. I had to change it up to fit my own idea and design but she made the first card i saw with a punches mermaid.
I used that luscious background - an all-time favorite of mine - Antiqued Glimmer! What wonderful water and ocean it made! I used three shades of Distress ink - Weathered Wood, Faded Jeans, and Dusty Concord - and gold glimmer mist.
For my little mermaid's fish scales I used that wonderful shimmery text weight paper you can get from Paper Temptress. The hearts are made from this same kind of paper. The sea weed is punched with a Martha Stewart punch - other wise all of the other punches used are from Stampin' Up! The rhinestone bling is from a craft store. The stamp is from Stampin' Up!
I think my four year old little granddaughter will love her Valentine from Gramma and Poppa! I know I sure had fun making it for her!
