My contribution to the Technique of the Week! The Faux Silk Designer Paper Technique
from the most recent newsletter!
My designer paper is from the So-So Sweet collection from the Paper Studio. The "Happy Birthday" stamp is from Stampabilities. The die cut is from Spellbinders; Lattice Rectangles.
With so many of these background type techniques, I find myself so reluctant to cover up the beautiful results. I keep it simple just for that reason. As Tricia mentioned in her post, (wasn't her card gorgeous?) it is a shame you can't see the shimmer. A word of advice however, use a lightly colored pearlized spray. If it is too dark, the paper won't show through. I used a pale pink but still had to blot it a bit. Now that I am looking at the photo, you can't really see the fine wrinkles of the tissue paper either. I think I need to take a beginner photography course LOL!
Give this technique a go won't you? You won't regret it!
