Today's card uses the technique called Dye Whitewash from the August 2013 issue. I had a couple of friends over for a Friday stamp day and we decided to give this technique a try. I really love the subtle color that it gives to the image. While playing with the technique, we used my friend's white detail embossing powder.
Tonight as I finished the card up with a sentiment, I grabbed my white detail embossing powder. Who knew that White Detail embossing powder would have different whites. Sheesh! Mine is more "Off" white than real white. So.....what was I to do.....my sentiment was Off White and the image was White..... So, I decided to make the card base and the butterflies in off white as well so that it didn't look like a mistake. It worked out fairly well, making the image popping more from the card.
I hope that you like! The image is from Stampendous and the words are from Stampin Up...I think!

Love this. Your colours on the flower are so soft and pretty. I have this same stamp and it' gone unloved.
It is just lovely -- and yes, the saying is SU.
What a great card! Good salvage of your "mistake."
I think it's beautiful and love the colors you used. I may have to "case".
