TOTW - Embossed Color Pencils

Hi Junkies, Tricia here with this weeks "Try that Technique".  I loved seeing your creations from last week, they were all fantastic and I am so happy so many of you joined along.

This is such a cool technique and so easy to do.  I did this card up for my cousins' wedding celebration this weekend.  I love this stamp from I Brake For Stamps, I use it for all kinds of celebrations.  I colored it up with my prismacolor pencils.  The sentiment is one from Gina K Designs.

It's hard to see the embossing in this picture so I took this one to show you.  It adds a new level of interest to your card.

I would love to see what you come up with.  Hope you have a crafty week!

TOTW - Sponged Ombre Watercoloring

Hi Junkies, Tricia here with this weeks "Technique of the Week"!  I couldn't wait to color up this fantastic Saturated Canary stamp with my copics.

I used the Sponged Ombre Watercoloring technique on both the background of the Eiffel Tower and on the blue & purple background.  I resurrected my neglected Quickutz alphabet and die cuts.  I forgot how much I love them.  I also used the out of the nestie box technique (always a favorite).

This is such an easy technique, we would love for you to join us this week to see what you come up with.  I love all the inspiration from this group!

Stamps:  Saturated Canary, Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous, Stampabilities, Gina K Design (sentiment), Make it crafty (Eiffel Tower)

TOTW - Graidant Sponging

I needed a sympathy card and decided this technique would do nicely.  I used distress inks for the sponging.  I think I need to clean my scanner...LOL.

The stamp is from Stampin Up!

Won't you play along with us?

Thanks for stopping by...and have a crafty day!

Gradient Sponging

Hello. Beth Norman here with this week's Technique of the Week.

How is your week going so far?  Finally we're having nicer weather and with that my mojo seems to have come back.  I had so much fun creating a morphed Gradient Sponging.  I took creative liberty in layering the gradient sponging as you can see.

My background was created by stamping and heat embossing, then sponging ink over the background.

Thank you for dropping by!

InkaGold Stamping by Judy Jackson

Every now and then a new product comes along and you don't know how to use or what it could be used for in stamping.   I saw this Inka Gold in several colors at a rubber stamp convention in Westminster, MD.  I saw it demonstrated, and decided I had to have some of this. I bought a couple of jars and because I was out of money, I came home and did a search on the Internet for this product.  I found it even with free shipping!  I bought it even before I knew exactly how it could be used.  But it was so bright and shimmery I was sure it could be used somehow!

And doesn't this technique use it beautifully?  It is not what I saw demonstrated at all and I like this technique better.

The butterfly card uses stamps from Heather's Stamping Haven and Stampers Anonymous.  I painted the open areas with Smooch paints.  The peacock feather card uses an Inkadinkadoo stamp and the verse is from Technique Junkie stamps (http://www.stampcamp.com/wordsandsayings2.html) .

Do you have any of this wonderful creamy Inka Gold yet?  It is luscious to work with!  Have an inky day and get your fingers a bit messy!

TOTW Inka Gold

After making these cards I got to thinking that it is amazing the many types of mediums you can use to stamp with. Experiments are on the horizon, LOL!
My first card uses a Magenta stamp. It is of course in my favorite theme...Asian.

I really like the distressed look on the gold paper I used as a mat for the card.
The second card uses a Penny Black stamp and a verse from Hearts in Touch.

I used the webbing background technique for the background to this card. Both card are simple yet effective.
What are you waiting for? Please give Inka Gold a try and post your creations to the Yahoo group so we can all be inspired!
See you back here real soon,
Happy Stamping

Reverse Washi Window by Judy Jackson

Washi Tape seems to be all the rage right now, and like many stampers I have collected several rolls of this very versatile tape.    I like the bright and muted colors.  I like the way you can mix and match with coordinating colors or use a variety of colors. I like it's versatility in creating cards in a different manner. The Technique Junkie newsletter has shown several different techniques using this interesting tape and this technique is another one.

Stamps are  all from Stampin' Up!

I know the newsletter has just been mailed out.  Are there any techniques you have already used and are there techniques you want to try?  I hope you will try this one.

Have a crafty day!
