Silver on Gold

The perfect technique for cards with a movie theme
is Silver on Gold from the August/September 2014 issue
of the Technique Junkies Newsletter.
Both cards are made with this technique onm
the background. Paper and stamps are from
Club Scraps Cinema! kit.
On this card I have some gold
and silver stars on the background
(this happend by accident, but also works
perfect). So I am thinking of making a reverse card
with silver stamping and gold background.

This card is only with the gold.
Many gold stars in the movies!!

I hate throwing away the cut offs and
try to use those for decorating the inside.

If you want some more ideas on these them, Club Scrap
is haveing a blog hop today. You can start at the

Have a creative day!

TOTW Waxy Windows

Hi Everyone, Jackie K here with two examples of the Waxy Window technique.
I have always loved this resist technique as the possibilities are only limited by the number of embossing folders you have, and the number of Kalidecolor stamp pads you possess, LOL!

This card uses stamps from Inkadinkado and Club Scrap. Aren't the colors vibrant?
It is really fun watching the resist form as you brayer the color on.

The stamps on this card are from PSX and Club Scrap. Once again very vibrant colors. As you can see, this resist isn't as pronounced as the other one. Choice of EF perhaps, not sure. It's all an experiment to me. I keep forgetting not to have a white card base when I post on here. It gets lost in the background.

I hope you have enjoyed my examples and that they inspire you to give this a try.
I will see you back here soon if I survive the last of the summer in the desert!
Happy Stamping!

Waxy Window

Hi bloggers, Ann Clack here!  This coming week the Technique of the week is Waxy Window.  So, I thought I'd start the week off with a fresh simple sample of Waxy Window.  I've been on a mission to try and use some of my stamps that have NSI.....Never Seen Ink!  I'm sure that some of you have this problem too!  The stamps are from Stampin' Up!  I know that they aren't new but they hadn't been used until today!  I wanted some colors that remind me of the later days of summer so picked a red flower with some orange in the design too.  A little hand drawing around the inner border of the mask made the image pop out a little more.  Enjoy!

Broken Borders

Hello folks, Beth Norman, here with Broken Borders, one of my favourite techniques.  I had five cards to make so I did an assembly line.  For the cards that are going to be delivered by hand I added bling, and for the mailable cards I left off the bling.

I did my cards using brights and muted shades.  Which do you prefer?  I'm a bright lover myself.

Broken Borders gives so much dimension and layers that it is so pretty in real life.  Won't you try this technique?

Technique of the Week - Border Text

Hi Junkies, Tricia here with this week's technique of the week - border text.

I used a leftover from the AI Float technique I had on hand.  I like this technique as it adds a different type of flare with little effort...

I received some new Gina K Design stamps in the mail and couldn't resist using them on this card.

I hope you decide to play along with us this week.  We are always excited to see what you come up with...

Happy Crafting!

Distressed Fingerpainting byJudy Jackson

Getting the newsletter techniques is always exciting for the Design Team! Every member of the TJ Design Team loves creating cards and scrapbook elements with new techniques.  Tiger Lilies are so beautiful and this stamp from Art Neko certain does the flower justice.

I created the background using the Distressed Fingerprinting technique from the current newsletter. I also used the Clipped Corners technique from the October/November 2010 newsletter.

Black and white checked ribbon and a brad are the embellishments.

I hope you get your fingers inky --or rather "painty" this week!

Distressed Fingerpainting

Hello Stampers,

Hetty here with the technique of the week:
~Distressed Fingerpainting~
which is a techniqu from the Aug/Sept 2014
Technique Junkies Newsletter.

As you can see I used worn lipstick
and vintage distress paint for the background,
which immediately made me think of the beach.

This wonderful shell stamp is by Art Neko
as well as the sentiment.

I stamped the shells in a brown ink on the background
and used a white gelpen for coloring.

Hope you all are enjoying Summer time!

Creative greetings,

TOTW Distress Finger Painting

Jackie K here with the TOTW, Distress Finger Painting. I am not kidding when I tell you what a fast and diverse technique this is.I just love it! I can envision many different types of cards made with this technique from the simple to the sublime. I have two examples for you today:

This first card uses a Technique Junkie stamp as the focal point and part of a Inky Antics stamp for the verse. I can see this card used to cheer someone up, a get well card, or to send to someone going on a vacation to a tropical destination.

This card was really fun to make. Again I used a Technique Junkie Stamp as the focal point. I really like this stamp a lot and can see a nice ATC made from it. The verse is from Printworks. The raindrops, frame and umbrella is an embossing folder from Darice. Don't you love it?

Thanks for dropping by. Give this technique a try, won't you? Don't forget to post your creations to the yahoo group.
See you back here real soon!
Happy Stamping!

Resisting a Dress

Hi, TJ bloggers!  Ann Clack here with the technique of the week called Resist Strips.  I couldn't resist the little play on words for the title!  My goal today was to get some ink on stamps that never saw ink.  The lady in the dress is from Rubbernecker stamps and the sentiment is from Just Rite Stamps.  The lady in the dress has been on my 'want' list for a long time and I finally got her.  The background stamp is from Love to Stamp.  I don't think the background stamp company is around anymore.   Hope you enjoy!  If I had this card to do over again, I would increase the width of the strips and darken up the shading around the lady.

Faux Die Plate

Hello friends.  Here we are in August and I'm still waiting for summer to arrive here in Southern Ontario, Canada.  I'm tired to cool temperatures, grey skies and rain.  My mom, who lives in Atlanta assures me it's just not me suffering from cooler than normal temperatures, she is too.  So I guess if you are reading this you'll say the same thing.  My girlfriend (we started out as penpals at age 13 and now I'm 52) in England says they are having a record hot summer, so go figure.

One thing to cheer me up is to play in my studio and create.  Today I have a Faux Die Plate for you.  My die is from Impression Obsession.

What are you working on?
