Dear Patricia,Since we brought the Chameleon Color Tone Color Pencils into the store last week, I think it's appropriate to show you another technique you can use with them or any other set of colored pencils.
I love the look of embossing - it is such a nice textural sheen to add to a finished project. Today we will be adding heat embossing to our colored pencils to achieve that pretty, shiny texture.
Here are the stamps and pencils we are using today:
Chameleon Color Tones Colored Pencils
Rose Doodles
Different Flowers
Row of Birds
Together
Faint Scratches
Beautiful Birds
You can use any colored pencils for this technique. Of course I recommend the Chameleon Color Tone Pencils for their superior blending, though.
To start, I stamped the Rose Doodles and Different Garden stamps on white cardstock. Then I selected the first two colors -- the perfect match for each is on one pencil.
I The roses were colored with the first colors and blended using their perfect match and different pressures.
Continue with other pencils to finish coloring the whole piece.
For the embossing portion, you will need either a VersaMarker or an Embossing pen. Either will work well.
Color over the entire image with the embossing marker. Note that the marker may blend the colors somewhat. Cover the entire image with Detail Clear Embossing Powder and heat emboss.
Embossed Birds
Just another example for you. I love how pretty these are in person!
I hope you are a little inkspired by today's issue. See you next week!
