Sailing Knots

I love sailing ... hearing the lapping of the water and feeling the breeze with occasional flapping of the sails is where I love to be.  I don't get to go often, but my memories of the times I have gone are strong.

Sailors must be masters at ropes and knots.  That's what I think of when I see the new Ropes Stamp from the July release (remember 15% off through July 8th and another 10% off of your order when you use my code TJ10Stephanie)

I often choose my 12" pieces of designer papers, so I can stamp on them.  I found this lovely grey/green paper in my stash, which was perfect for a masculine card stamped in grey ink ... it even has a subtle fabric-like texture that reminded me of the sails.

Sentiment is from Technique Junkies Simple Sentiments 2b (a great selection with a hand-written font) and I finished with a Compass Brad.

For my second card I went with browns and stamped my Ropes on a woodgrain background, which reminded me of the polished hull of the sailboat.  I used a a similar layout, so I could end-up with a mailable gift set ... I love that you can use the Rope Stamp either direction.

This sentiment is from Let's Pawty! and I used a Nautical Wheel Brad to accent for this one.
