While I was originally thinking a card, as I started stamping, I quickly changed my mind to a bookmark. My 87 year old mom, who lives with my husband and I, loves to read. And since I like to make her little things every once in a while (she IS my biggest fan after all), I thought a bookmark would be perfect.
Both the image and the sentiment were stamped in black ink, and the books were colored with colored pencils and gamsol. I trimmed the piece down to a bookmark size, inked the edges, and added a ribbon and decorative staple (that was the tricky part — I had to take the staple out of the stapler and hammer it into place on a foam mat).
It was a quick and easy project, and I love the way it turned out. Sometimes, the simplest things are the best.

A wonderful card/bookmark for us readers! Count on having it cased. And make your mom happy every chance you get....she is, after all, the one who gave you the world with books. I wish I could do the same.
