Birthdays are like golfing...

Hello, Tracy Shultz, The Hopeful Crafter, here to share a funny card that features two of the new stamps from the May 2021 release. I paired the Birthdays are Like Golf https://techniquejunkies.com/birthdays-are-like-golf/ stamp with the Crosshatch Scratches background stamp https://techniquejunkies.com/crosshatch-scratches/   I also used the Cloud Edger Stencil https://techniquejunkies.com/cloud-edger-stencil/ to create this card:

This was another super easy card to create. That's what I love about Technique Junkies Stamps, they are so versatile and in a matter of minutes you can have an amazing card to share with friends and family.

To create this card, I followed these steps:
1. I stamped the red rubber stamp using Hero Arts Instensified Black Ink. I then used alcohol markers to color the image. I used alcohol markers to color grass on the panel under the golfer's feet.
2. I used the Cloud Edger Stencil from a Colorful Life Designs to create clouds in the sky. I used tumbled glass distress ink.
3. I stamped the Crosshatch Scratches stamp with a variety of Catherine Pooler ink colors: Rockin Red, Orange Cream, Lime Rickey, Grass Skirt, Blue Suede Shoes and Flirty Fuchsia. This created a rainbow background.
4. I trimmed the background panel and the stamped panel with the Tim Holtz Deckle Trimmer. I popped the Golfer panel up with foam tape and adhered it to the Crosshatch Scratches panel.
5. I adhered both layers to an A4 Card Base (size 4.25" x 5.5").

Secret Garden

  Hi there!

It's my day to post on the Technique Junkies Design blog. I have two cards to share, featuring the 'S903 Secret Garden' background stamp. What a dream to color this background - just look at all of the beautiful details!

For this first card, the background was stamped onto white cardstock, and colored with Copic Markers. The focal panel was mounted onto a light green card base. The sentiment were three words from the #SD1084 Plant Smiles stamp. These were fussy cut, and popped up onto the card front.

And here is the second card:

It was colored with Copics, nearly the same as the above card. Using one of my favorite sentiment sets, #SS02b 'Simple Sentiments Set 2, Style b', I stamped and matted a sentiment. It was adhered to the focal panel, and this panel was adhered to a green card base.

I'm going to use this May release a lot! Hope you will too!!!

Milk Jug Flowers Hello

Hello. Tracy Shultz, the Hopeful Crafter, is here today with a super cheerful card that features the Milk Jug Flowers from the May 2021 release.

To create this card, I stamped the red rubber stamp with Momento tuxedo black ink. I colored the flowers and milk jug with colored pencils and used Gamsol (an odorless mineral spirit) to blend the coloring. This is an easy image to color and it was also easy to fussy cut. I created a video on my YouTube Channel demonstrating how I made this card:

Next, I used the Rays stencil from a Colorful Life Designs to create the background. I used PixieSpray to hold the stencil in place and ink blended with Catherine Pooler Inks: Chiffon (top half, yellow) and Catching Rays (bottom half, orange).

Next, I used Versamark Ink to stamp the word Hello from the Technique Junkies Five Fab Phases Stamp Set (SS-117). I heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder. I mounted the sentiment on a piece of copper glitter card stock. I used foam tape to pop the Milk Jug Flower up and give it some dimension. I adhered the panel to an A2 size (4.25" x 5.5") yellow card base.

This is such a cheerful card and so easy to make!

More People Like You!!

I used Poppies and Roses for the background of this card.  I stamped it with Versamark ink and clear embossed it.    My Versamark pad was dirty so it didn't turn out white.   Then I heavily and deeply burnished ink over the top.  I spritzed it with Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper.   The die cut was adhered with glue to the frame that was die cut.  Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper and a few sequins were added.

Stars Can't Shine

I love these two new stamps from Technique Junkies.  These stamps are called Hanging Stars and Stars Can't Shine.  They are just perfect together, and I had fun creating this set of cards with them.  I used black cardstock and Versamark ink for all four of these, and I just changed out the embossing powders on each one just to see how they look.  My favorite is this pale blue with silver glitter version that you see above.

Plant Smiles, Grow Giggles, Harvest Love!

Hello! Tracy Shultz, the Hopeful Crafter here today with a beautiful natured themed card featuring two Technique Junkies stamps from the May 2021 release: Plant Smiles and Secret Garden.

To create this card, I followed these steps:
1. Using a piece of 4" x 5.25" white card stock, I used watercolor brush tip markers (Dual Art brand from Amazon) to color the background stamp Secret Garden (S903) . This technique is very easy and it allows me to color each section of the stamp a different color.
2. I used three colors of Catherine Pooler inks to stamp the sentiment Plant Smiles (SD1084). The colors of ink that I used to create this Ombre effect are: Aquatini, Something Borrowed and Flirty Fuchsia.
3. I used the Deckle Trimmer to trim the sentiment. I popped the sentiment up on foam tape and adhered it to the Secret Garden card panel.
4. I used a side folding  A2 card base, size 4.25" 5.5" in Kelly Green color. I love the way the color of this card base matches the green color marker that I used for the background stamp.

Here's a closer look at all the stamps in the May 2021 release:

Florals under the mat

This is a mistake-proof card! With the floral corners stamped UNDER the mat, overlaps are forgiven. This uses the new Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink on both layers.

Simply stamp the corners on the bottom mat, avoiding overlapping along the edge, then add the top layer to cover up any messiness. Easy Peasy!

The stamp set is HERE.

Adulting Is Overated

Hello!  Tracy Shultz, The Hopeful Crafter, sharing a Technique Junkies stamp that I paired with a stencil from a Colorful Life Designs. The stamp is called "Adulting is Overrated," a fun and snarky stamp that can be used with so many different cards. I used this stamp with the "Rippling Squares" stencil. Both the stamp and the stencil are available at www.TechniqueJunkies.com  The stamp is part of the new May 2021 release: https://techniquejunkies.com/may-2021-new-stamp-release/

Don't forget to use my coupon code for 10% off:

TJ10Tracy

I created the card first by ink blending the stencil using various green colored inks from Catherine Pooler (Lime Rickey, Green Tea & Eucalyptus). I trimmed the panel with the Deckle Trimmer, then layered it on top of a mat of Spring Green cardstock, also trimmed with the Deckle Trimer (mat layer was 4"x 5.25"). I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and trimmed it with the Deckle Trimmer. I used green ink to ink blend just the edges of the sentiment strip. I then layered the sentiment on a mat of the same Spring Green cardstock (Deckle Trimmed, of course) and used foam tape to mount the sentiment onto the lower right corner of the card panel.

This would be a fun card to share with a friend who is tired of adulting! Here are the links to the stamp and stencil:

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave

Hello there!  I'm really in love with Grunge Flag.  Did you see my Grunge Flag tutorial on how to create faux burnt edges?

I stamped out my image onto my card front, and then stamped Wildflower Silhouettes. My inspiration was drawn from a drive I took years ago with my sister.  We saw an old barn sitting in a field with the American flag painted on the entire side of the barn.  Wild flowers were growing all around.  It was so beautiful, we got out of the car to take a photo of it, and along the way my sister painted the scene with oil paints.

Split Stencil Friendship

I adore the Split Stencils from A Colorful Life Designs - they are beautiful and elegant, and work with just a few colors. I combined the Split Swirls Stencil with one of the sentiments from the Technique Junkies Floral Framed Square sentiments. I colored the background with Harvest Gold Shimmering Bliss and Inked the stencil over it with Distress Oxide Inks.

Keep count of those Birthdays - or not...

Can you take a Mulligan on your birthday number? Wouldn't that be awesome? The TJ Birthdays are Like Golf stamp is great for any golfer in your life.

My golfer was colored with Copic Markers and the background uses the ink-blended Striped Waves Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, available HERE from Technique Junkies.

I say take the Mulligan! (Forever 45 for me! - LOTS of Mulligans lol)

Math Equations

 Hi there!

It's my day to post on the Technique Junkies Design blog. I have two fun cards to share, using the 'S891 Math Equations' background stamp. What fun to work with this background - just look at all of the details!

For this first card, the background was stamped with Versamark ink onto black cardstock, and heat embossed in white. I 'framed' the panel with woodgrain to look like a chalkboard. Then, I stamped and colored the pooch and sentiment, fussy cut them, and adhered them over the background. The dog and sentiment are from #SD764 'Can't Afford the Cat'. Thought it was a perfect pairing!

The second card was easy-peasy!  I used the #S891 Math Equations, and #SD924 'Internet Browser'. Both were simply stamped onto white cardstock, and matted with black.

I'm loving this May release! Hope you are too!!!
