Sunset Sentiments

Here is a really easy card I created using the Sunset Sentiments #SS155 from the Technique Junkies June 2022 release.

I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth white cardstock and created a mask using a sticky circle and a piece of Mint tape and ink blended the sunrise using Distress Oxides. I then flipped my mint tape and colored the sand.  All that was left to do was stamp on the sentiment and add the embellishments!

I'll Be Watching You

Hello, Tracy Shultz, The Hopeful Crafter here with a cute card that reminds me of my dog. This card was created using the "I'll Be Watching You" Stamp #SD957: https://techniquejunkies.com/ill-be-watching-you/

Technique Junkies carries a wide variety of stamps for the dog or cat lover, as well as stamps for all occasions: https://techniquejunkies.com/

I created a process video on my YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/NSYCKGwMNJA

 To create my card:
  • I first stamped the dog and sentiment using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.
  • I then die cut the stamped image using a stitched rectangle die from my stash.
  • Next I used the "Paws" Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs https://shrsl.com/3l9j8 to create the background panel. I used Stone Blue Catherine Pooler Ink and applied it through the stencil with a foam domed ink blender.
  • I used the same Stone Blue ink to ink the four sides of an A2 Card Base (4.25" x 5.5"), creating the perfectly match card base.
  • To finish, I used the residual ink that remained on my domed ink blender and ink blended the edges of the stamped and die cut dog and sentiment rectangle. I popped that up on the stenciled background using foam tape.

Endings are Beautiful

 Greetings Junkies!!

I've been experimenting again!  I used a clear block (used for stamping) to create these backgrounds.  I smooshed yellow, orange, lt pink, and dark pink onto the block.  I sprayed with water and and then pressed it into paper.  I varied the amount of water to see if that altered the end result.  I love how they are all different. Once the panels were dry I stamped the palm tree and sentiment on them.   Do you have a favorite?

Beach Girl Sunset

The beach girl stamp makes a perfect backdrop for this Sunset Sentiment. One of the oldest stamps in the TJ line, she is still gorgeous! Colored pencils were used for the sand, ocean and sunset and the front panel is popped off the card base.

Sea the Ocean

 Sea Urchins and Ocean Soul

were used today with my DT Share.

I stamped the urchins onto white cardstock and proceeded

to colour them in with soft colours.

Then I spritzed the whole thing with my Shimmering Bliss

(not sure if you can see it in the pic)

But looks great!!!!

The saying is sponged with distress ink

and spritzed with water.

This made such a lovely card!

Big Wave

Howdy!

I'm here today, and am excited to share two cards that I made, featuring the beautiful new Big Wave stamp from the June Release. I hope you like them! This is such a beautiful release.

Here's my first card:

Wow! What a beautiful wave. The sentiment used on this card is also new Ocean Soul.  The sentiment was stamped with Versamark, and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  The image was stamped in dark blue ink, and some blending was done toward the top with an Ink Blending Brush and a beautiful sentiment finished this card nicely.

And here's card number two:

This time, using a finger dauber, I dabbed on several shades of Distress Oxide Inks until I got the look I wanted. I blended some ink on the top, and stamped the sentiment from the beautiful set, Sunset Sentiments with a deep blue ink.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Ocean Time

And to the Ocean we go !!!

Sitting and listening to the waves is so soothing

this Big Wave stamp has it rolling in which

matched well with the Ocean Soul stamp

This next card I made with Vellum layers...

I stamped the second layer with staz on ink using the

Find my Soul stamp

The top layer I embossed the

Sea Frame in white

A wee bit of ribbon on top (to hide the tape )

ripped the bottom of the vellum for more texture.

I really like the look of this one !!!

The Free and the Brave

I first stamped Statue of Liberty on my white cardstock panel. I colored her with the Copic markers shown - YG11, YG03, and C1. I created a mask  with a large piece of "sticky paper."  I  placed the mask over Lady Liberty.  Then using my stamping platform I inked up the blue star field at the top and stamped it over Lady Liberty.   I reinked the stamp over and over again until I was satisfied with the intensity of the blue ink for the starry field.  I repeated the same process for the red stripes.

The verse is from a past release and is called Home of the Brave. It was heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder over Versafine black ink. Then I used a red dye-based marker to color in the letters.  I trimmed it closely, layered it and mounted it on the card.

There is a wonderful "Gotta Have It All" price with a great discounted price for every stamp of the TJ June release.

Anything else you buy from TJ (not already on sale) are eligible for a 10% discount by using TJ10Judy.

Enjoy a marvelous June day, and get inky!!

Wildflower Dragonfly Wonder

Good morning!  It's Holly posting today and I'm sharing this card that I created using several Technique Junkies stamps.  I started by stamping the gorgeous Blooming Wildflowers with some aqua ink onto aqua cardstock and I let that dry.  Then I stamped the Dragonfly with a darker blue/teal pigment ink and covered it with a sparkly clear embossing powder.  After I melted the powder, I stamped the "Wonder" from the Dream Hope Wish Wonder set at the bottom of the aqua panel.  I die cut the scalloped frame from white cardstock and used the teal pigment ink pad to color the frame.  Then I glued the frame to the aqua piece and glued that to a white card base.

You can use this code, TJ10Holly, when you shop at Technique Junkies to save 10% off your order.  That means you can grab all of the stamps I used today along with all the other Technique Junkies stamps on your wish list and save money.  The stamps I used today were:

Happy Waves- Bargello Video Tutorial

 Welcome friends,

On Monday I shared a fun and easy way to use up scrap paper.  I've been having a blast with this "Stripping technique".  Today we are stepping it up!  I don't want to say it is harder, because it isn't.  It is just an extra step...maybe two.    No worries... I walked you through each step in this video.

Bargello is a quilting technique that is used to create the appearance of movement. The design almost looks like it is moving.

The Big Wave!

You can't get any simpler making this card using the Big Wave #S970 from the Technique Junkies June 2022 release and the sentiment stamp Feel Most Alive #SDX194 release last July.

I stamped the wave using Versafine Clair in the color Twilight then embossed with clear embossing powder.  I laid down the mask I made from the stamp and then simply used my Pan pastels to color the sky and then the water.  I shimmered up the water using a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer in "Glitter Gloss."

I embossed the sentiment using Versamark ink and white embossing powder and hand drew in the seagulls after cutting the panel out with a die from my stash and gluing it down to a white card base.

Process video below.

Sunset Sentiments - Beautiful Sunset

Hello, Tracy Shultz, the Hopeful Crafter, here with a few cards that feature the new Sunset Sentiments, Set of 5, from Technique Junkies. These wonderful sentiments are perfect for summertime cards or cards for any occasion. This stamp set is part of the June new release from Technique Junkies: https://techniquejunkies.com/sunset-sentiments-set-of-5/
Save 10% off your entire order using my code: TJ10Tracy
To create my card, I used the Turbulent Waters stencil by A Colorful Life Designs for the ocean. I ink blended over the stencil using Catherine Pooler inks in the colors Cummerbund and Serenade. I used a piece of masking paper for the sun, then I ink blended the horizon using Catherine Pooler inks Chiffon and Catching Rays. I removed the mask and used Chiffon Ink to make the sun yellow. I then stamped the sentiment above the sun. I used a piece of gold foil card stock as my mat layer. I used a stitched rectangle die for both the panel and the mat layer. I adhered the ink blended panel and the mat layer to a gold A2 (4.25" x 5.5") card base.
A closer look

A close up of the water and the sunset sentiment

For my second card, I started by ink blending my background with Catherine Pooler inks: Pucker Up, Catching Rays and Chiffon. I then use the Landscape Rays stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and Catching Rays Ink. I then stamped the sentiment onto the panel. I used a die to cut out the panel and the mat layer of gold card stock. I adhered everything to a gold A2 card base.

Waves or Tentacles?

The Tentacles Stencil from @acolorfullifedesigns has always reminded me of sea waves, so I though it was perfect with Shimmering Bliss (Ocean Depth Color) and the Dance with the Waves Sentiment.

TJ Inkspiration: Glittery Sea Frame

Faux Glitter Markers?
The Nuvo Glitter Markers were discontinued by the company and I miss them terribly! BUT - I have a great way for you to use your markers on hand to create "Faux" Glitter Markers that are gorgeous and easy to use (and using what you have is always a bonus!). Today I have a 5 minute tutorial to show you just that.

I created a little kit for you so you can save a little money on the pieces and parts, if you are interested. I also placed a few extra stamps into the category that I feel work great with the Sea Frame in case you want more choices with what to use with the frame. All of the pieces, parts and kit may be found HERE.
