The Best Therapist

Deb here again with one of her favorite new releases for February !! It's no secret that I am a devoted cat mom to our sweet Pixie. So The Best Therapist  stamp was one of the first I wanted to create with this month .. I combined it with another fabulous earlier release - Hang In There - for my card . Don't these go together perfectly ?!?!?!  I think so !!

  • I stamped the Hang In There image on White Mixed Media paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink .
  • The Best Therapist sentiment was stamped below with Catherine Pooler Peppermint Scrub ink .
  • On a Kraft card base, I adhered a piece of red polka-dotted patterned paper.
  • The completed stamped panel was then adhered to the card base.
  • I placed a pink heart sticker on the right side of the sentiment.
All of the February Release Stamps are 15% off through February 8th without any code needed . But you can use my code - TJ10Deb - to save 10% off all other supplies . There are many other fantastic stamps, stencils etc. to choose from . If you are a cat lover like me, there are many great cat images  HERE . Thank you for checking out my latest card . Do you have a furry therapist at your house ??

Pixie - our furry therapist !!

Until next time, Stay Creative

Dancing on Mulberry Paper

                   Hello Friends!

Today’s card features something a little bit different.  You’ve probably tried the simple technique of dragging a mini ink pad across your card stock to create colorful stripes -  like I’ve done on this card.  But what is different is I didn’t put the ink on card stock, I used a textured paper called mulberry paper.

So next time you feel like trying something new - search for a natural fiber paper like mulberry tree paper. It’s stronger than teabag paper or tissue paper .

Supply list

Red card base (optional to use any embossing folder on this)

Stamps used: African Dancers, Giraffe border stamp, and African proverbs set of 8

Catherine Pooler Mini Inks

Messy Diamond grid stencil

Three -> 4 x 5.25 pieces of white card stock plus scrap piece for inside sentiment.

Black archival ink pad

Adhesive

Soft stencil brush (Technique Junkies carries a wonderful set of colorful soft brushes)

How I created this:

- I first pulled mini Catherine pooler inks across a large size piece of mulberry paper.  I used three colors from the Urban oasis collection (orange peel, hot tub, and lemongrass).

- Let the inks dry completely then cut the mulberry paper down to the size you need for your card then adhere it to a piece of white card stock so it will be sturdy. Attach piece of black card stock (to the back) that is slightly larger to give it a small frame.

- Using a stamping platform I stamped the african dancers using black archival ink.  You may need to stamp more than once to get a nice bold black on the mulberry paper.

- Repeat with the giraffe border stamp stamping it along the bottom.

- Add a piece of foam behind the black piece(optional) then glue to your card base.

- Using Catherine Pooler Rouge red I stenciled the upper left and bottom right corner of the card front.  I added some of the stenciling to the inside to bring it all together.

- I chose one of the new African proverbs to add a sentiment to the inside. You could stamp this directly to a 4 x 5.25 card panel if you didn’t want to add another piece of card stock.  I sometimes stamp things crooked so I’m in the habit of stamping sentiments on small piece of card stock :)

I think this card would be perfect for numerous celebratory occasions. I’d love to hear what you think!

All of these stamps are automatically 15% off through 2/8/2024.

If you “Gotta have them all” you will save $28.09

Everything else (like the inks & stencil) is 10% off when you use my Design Team discount (TJ10AJ) at checkout.

Having Children is like…

Hello TJ stampers 😃

There are two fun things I’d like to point out about this card…wait, make that three.

1) Quick & Fun

2) The sentiment is TRUE!!!! (Hang in there!)

3) All of the colors you see are from dragging mini ink pads across cardstock. Swipe, Swipe, done!

The sentiment is from the release this month and can be found here.

The ink pads I used are Catherine Pooler set of 8 minis (Spa collection/Urban Oasis). The beautiful colors are made to harmonize together. And last time I checked there were a few sets left if you’re interested.

Ruffles & Glitter

Deb here with a card made using 2 of the January Stamp Releases . Welcome to 2024 and a new year of creativity !! I thought that these stamps went well together for my card for a friend raising a pre-teen daughter . Ruffled Fabric and Little Girls complemented each other so well !!

  • I stamped the Ruffled Fabric image  with Catherine Pooler Daydream ink  on white cardstock, then trimmed it to fit my card base.
  • The sentiment was stamped on white cardstock with Catherine Pooler Peppermint Scrub ink and then trimmed .
  • I adhered the sentiment to the Ruffled panel then adhered that completed panel to a Kraft card base.
  • Turquoise glitter was placed along the bottom edge of the top ruffle.
  • The chipboard girl was adhered on the left side of the card. She's been in my stash for years !!!

These are only 2 of the fantastic stamps in this release. The sentiment set  has 3 stamps included for creating wonderful cards for little girls ( or even for bigger girls ) .. Perfect for a newborn baby card, birthday card or even for a creative friend who loves glitter  ..

It's All About Summer

 Hello Technique Junkies!

Another fun background stamp was released this month. I'm a big fan of large stamps because you can get a handful of cards finished quickly, but you can also use parts of the stamp for different cards designs.

On the cards shown here I used distress oxide ink pads and randomly rubbed them on card stock.

Here are a few ways you can apply the ink:

- You can apply it directly to the stamp like I did on this card. I used bright green and red. I used a stamping platform so I could reapply the ink and stamp it a second time. I wanted it bold and bright.

- You can rub the ink pad directly onto the card stock and let dry.  The colors will be bolder if you don't spritz with water. After it dries use a dark color on the entire stamp (like the card with the daisy on it) so it stands out and has a nice contrast to the background colors.

- You can rub the ink pad onto a large piece of Saran Wrap or plastic surface. Choose two or three colors that complement one another and rub them on the plastic wrap in different spots. Spritz the areas with water then dab your card stock onto the color. Take a peek and see what area needs more color and dab it again. Let dry completely before you stamp on your background.

Now dig into your little odds and ends container and find some flowers, stickers, bows, and add some fun embellishments to finish off your cards.

Do you like the large background stamps?  Which ones do you have? Do you share your creations on the Technique Junkies Facebook page?  I sure hope you do. We LOVE to see what you create with TJ rubber stamps. And when you share it helps others feel more comfortable to post their creations too.

Fright Night and Spooky Pumpkin Frame

Hello! Tracy Shultz, The Hopeful Crafter, here with a fun Halloween Card. I used the new Spooky Pumpkin Frame and the previously released Fright Night Sentiment. I also used Catherine Pooler Inks. You can find all these products here:  https://techniquejunkies.com/  Use my code: TJ10Tracy to save 10% off your entire order

I ink blended my background with foam domed daubers using these Catherine Pooler Ink Colors: Chiffon, Catching Rays and Glitz. I stamped the Spooky Pumpkin Frame onto the ink blended background using Catherine Pooler Midnight Ink. I stamped the Fright Night sentiment, trimmed it with the Deckle Trimmer and popped the sentiment up with foam tape. I backed the sentiment with a piece black mat cardstock, trimmed with the Deckle Trimmer. I used dies from my stash to add three black  bats to the panel. I used a piece of yellow cardstock for a mat and placed it onto black A2 Card Base.

It Takes a Long Time To Grow an Old Friend

Hello. Tracy Shultz, The Hopeful Crafter here, with a few cards using a sentiment from the new You're Vintage Stamp Set from Technique Junkies: https://techniquejunkies.com/youre-vintage/  This stamp set is part of the awesome August new release: https://techniquejunkies.com/august-2022-new-stamp-release/  I also used some previous released stamps. You're Vintage: https://techniquejunkies.com/youre-vintage/
To create my first card I ink blended a background panel using three colors of Catherine Pooler Inks: Chiffon, Catching Rays and Pucker Up. To ink blend, I used foamed domed blending tools and Hammermill premium cover paper, 100 lbs. I then stamped the sentiment at the top of the card. For the bottom of my card, I used the previously released Wildflower Silhouettes stamp. I trimmed the panel with a stitched rectangle die and then adhered it to an A2 black card panel.

Growing Wild Stamp: https://techniquejunkies.com/growing-wild/
For my second card, I created my background with Lapis Lazuli and Smoldering Ash Shimmering Bliss Sprays. I stamped the bottom of the panel with the previously released Growing Wild Stamp. I then splattered white ink on the panel.  Next I heat embossed the sentiment using black embossing powder. I had a piece of paper that I sprayed with Shimmering Bliss Spray in the same colors as the background panel that I used as a mat later behind the sentiment. I trimmed everything with my Deckle Trimmer and adhered it to a white card panel.

I created a process video on my YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/NSYCKGwMNJA

 To create my card:
  • I first stamped the dog and sentiment using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.
  • I then die cut the stamped image using a stitched rectangle die from my stash.
  • Next I used the "Paws" Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs https://shrsl.com/3l9j8 to create the background panel. I used Stone Blue Catherine Pooler Ink and applied it through the stencil with a foam domed ink blender.
  • I used the same Stone Blue ink to ink the four sides of an A2 Card Base (4.25" x 5.5"), creating the perfectly match card base.
  • To finish, I used the residual ink that remained on my domed ink blender and ink blended the edges of the stamped and die cut dog and sentiment rectangle. I popped that up on the stenciled background using foam tape.

Those We Love

Hello! Tracy Shultz, The Hopeful Crafter, here with you today sharing two cards featuring the Those We Love Stamp from the March new release: https://techniquejunkies.com/march-2022-stamp-release/  Save 10% off your order at Technique Junkies with my code: TJ10Tracy

For my first card I used a piece of Hammerill 80 lbs. card stock and stamped using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Purple Embossing Powder. I used blending brushes to ink blend on top (emboss resist) using Sweet Sixteen and Cummerbund inks by Catherine Pooler. Technique Junkies now carries Catherine Pooler Inks. I used the Sweet Sixteen ink pad to directly swipe the four sides a 4" x 5.25" card panel with the Sweet Sixteen ink pad, creating a matching mat layer. I cut both the stamped panel and the mat layer with stitched edge rectangle dies and added a few purple gems to the card front. I glued both of these layers to a white top fold 4.25 x 5.5" card base.
For my second card, I used a piece of Hammerill 80 lbs. card stock and stamped using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder. I then ink blended using Tutti Frutti Ink from Catherine Pooler. I only ink blended the outside edges with the fully saturated color using a domed foam blending tool. I went in with a lighter touch and less ink around the center of the panel. I found a piece of patterned paper from my stash with flowers that matched the Tutti Frutti ink color. I used that paper for my mat layer. I used stitched rectangle dies to die cut both the ink blended panel and the mat layer. I added a few black gems and assembled the layers by adhering them to a side folding A2 (4.25" x 5.5") Card Panel.

Rainbow Zen Edges

Hello! The Hopeful Crafter, Tracy Shultz, sharing two colorful cards with you today. The new Zen Edges stamp set is highly versatile and so bold! You can purchase the stamp set here: https://techniquejunkies.com/zen-edges/  Don't forget to use my code: TJ10Tracy to save 10% off your order!

For my first card, I used a piece of 4.25" x 5.5"Accent Opaque card stock and heat embossed the edges with the edges positioned at the top and the bottom. I used black embossing powder. After embossing the flourishing Zen Edges, I ink blended a rainbow using Catherine Pooler Inks. I started from top to bottom using foam domed blending tools. The colors that I used were:
  1. Pucker Up
  2. Catching Rays
  3.  Chiffon
  4. In the Park
  5. Cummerbund
  6. Serenade
Next, I used a stitched rectangle die to cut the panel down to 4" x 5.25" and, using Versafine Claire Nocturne Ink, stamped the Happy Birthday Sentiment from the Technique Junkies Inside Out Young at Heart Stamp set: https://techniquejunkies.com/inside-out-young-at-heart-set-of-10/   Finally, I adhered the panel to a black A2 card base and applied rainbow colored gems to the flourish at the bottom of the panel.

For my second card, I used a piece of 4.25" x 5.5"Accent Opaque card stock. I positioned the Zen Edges in the middle of the card panel, leaving a space between the two. I heat embossed the stamped images with black embossing powder. I then ink blended the panel with my foam domed blending tools. I blended at a diagonal angle, using Distressed Oxide Inks in the following colors:
    1. Picked Raspberries
    2. Mustard Seed
    3. Twisted Citron
    4. Lucky Clover
    5.  Prize Ribbon
I heat embossed the sentiment I believe in You, https://techniquejunkies.com/i-believe-in-you/ from the new release for March 2022. I sprinkled a bit of water on panel, dried it with my heat panel, then sprayed Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Spray https://techniquejunkies.com/dazzle-shimmering-bliss-topper/ on top the panel. After the panel dried I used a stitched rectangle die to cut the panel down to 4" x 5.25" and adhered the panel to a black A2 card base.

Dotted Hearts - Trio of Cards - Technique Junkies

Hello!  Today's cards are from The Hopeful Crafter, Tracy Shultz. I created a trio of cards that feature the new Technique Junkies Dotted Hearts background stamp. This stamp is part of  the January 2022 New Release stamps: https://techniquejunkies.com/january-2022-new-stamp-release/   All of the new stamps are still available at the link above. Save 10% off non-sale items with my code: TJ10Tracy

My first card (above) was created by first ink blended on Hammermill Color Cover Copy Paper using Catherine Pooler inks (DoSiDo and Rouge).  These inks are amazing and they are available at the Technique Junkies shop! These inks are water reactive, so I spritzed some water on the panel and it created white spots on the red ink blended panel. I dried the ink blended panel with my heat tool, then stamped the Dotted Heart stamp using Versamark Watermark Ink. I then heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I cut the word "Love" in gold foil cardstock using a sentiment from my stash. I used a black A2 card base.
My second card has most of the same elements as the first, but I used white embossing powder and the inks I used to blend with were Pucker Up and DoSiDo Catherine Pooler Ink.
My third card features silver embossing powder and I ink blended the background with Pucker Up Catherine Pooler Ink.

This release is so much fun. If you're like me and you have to have all the stamps in this collection, there is a "Gotta Have It All" bundle: https://techniquejunkies.com/january-2022-gotta-have-it-all-bundle/

You can save 10% off on all sale items if you use my code: TJ10Tracy (excludes sale items and bundles). Thank you for visiting today.

Hanging with my Gnomies

Hello. Tracy Shultz, The Hopeful Crafter here with you to share a holiday card.  Today I have a cute card that features two stamps from Technique Junkies. But, before I give you the details on my card, I need to remind you that today, December 15, 2021 is the last day for the Technique Junkies Inventory Reduction Sale.  Over 200 stamps have been reduced to 35% off plus you can use my code: TJ10Tracy to save an additional 10%  Here's a link to the inventory reduction page: https://techniquejunkies.com/december-inventory-reduction-sale/

The card that I made features the Hanging with My Gnomies Stamp (SD1015) which I colored with red and green Karin markers. I colored the beards with Aqua Shimmer and trimmed with the Deckle Trimmer. I used a domed foam blending tool to ink blend Spruce Catherine Pooler ink along the deckled edges. Technique Junkies now sells Catherine Pooler inks. The background stamp is Baubles (S713), which I stamped with Spruce and Rouge Catherine Pooler Inks. I ink swiped the card base with Catherine Pooler Spruce Ink, thus creating a perfectly matched mat layer.
