Summer Flowers

I used the Dragon Skin stencil from A Colorful Life Designs for the background.  It was colored in  with the Ink Blending Brushes. The flower stems were also colored with the Ink Blending Brushes. The sentiment  is Walkin' on Sunshine.   I used dye based markers direct to rubber on Daisy Garden for the envelope.

The rose image was water colored, and the background uses Lace Doily Stencil from A Colorful life Designs.   I used the ink blending brushes  to color through the stencil for the background.

Love

Hello fellow stampers!  Wow, wasn't this an awesome new release?  You can see all of the newly released stamps here.

For my card, I tore computer paper, layed it over the background, then stamped Circular Vines over top in Old Olive.  Then using blending brushes, I lightly sponged along the edges of the torn paper.  Next, I stamped out two stamps from Five Fab Phrases, Set of 10

Have a great week!

WWDB Challenge Card 4 - Thoughts of You

Have you seen anything about using foils with your Big Shot or similar machine?  That is how I added foil to this background with a stencil.  Isn't it gorgeous?

The stencil I used for my card is called Flowing Drops.   It is A Colorful Life Designs stencil.  The stamp is Milk Bottle Bouquet.   I colored it with  Copic Markers. I used an oval die and very carefully cut it so that the bouquet was not cut.  Later I cut around it.  I die cut an oval frame that looked like lace on the edge.  I cut it out of Vellum because I wanted to have a lacy look.  I layered them all on the stenciled foil background.  I was so happy with the final look! The verse at the bottom of the vase is from Sentimental Sayings

The greeting on the inside was too long when left in a strip with this orientation.  So I cut off the "Get" from the stamp and used my MISTI to be sure the two stamp sections were straight.

For the envelope, I used Raining Confetti stamped in a light blue for the background and on the envelope flap. U stamped Milk Bottle Bouquet on the left front corner.  I slipped a scrap piece of paper inside the envelope so when I colored the bouquet with my Copic markers, the ink wouldn't bleed through to the back of the envelope.

I do not have a laminator machine for using the beautiful foils out there.  I cannot do a video but I will show you step by step as much as possible.

1. You will need a stencil, a palette knife, a piece of card stock, Pixie sprayfoil,  and Decofoil Transfer Gel/DUO.   Spray the back of the stencil with Pixie spray so that you have no leakage under the stencil. Wait a few seconds and then place the stencil sticky side down on the card stock. Scoop up some of the Duo Gel and spread it across the stencil covered card stock. You do not want it to be thick but full coverage. If it is too thick, it will take a long time to dry.  If it is too thin, you won't get good coverage. Then carefully lift the stencil off of the card stock.  Immediately wash the stencil and the palette knife.

2. Now the Transfer Gel/Duo must dry before you can apply the foil.  If you are in a hurry, use your heat gun to dry it.  This may cause it to bubble a bit and it will slightly change the texture when you apply the foil.  Otherwise, let it dry naturally.  It will take 20 to 30 minutes to air dry, perhaps longer in thicker spots.  The Transfer Gel/Duo will be translucent when dry.

3.  Then place the foil cut to size on top of the Transfer Gel/Duo.  The colored side needs to be UP. Then sandwich it in between 2 plates for your Big Shot machine (or similar). You may need to add a shim - I did because it didn't have quite enough pressure.

4. Wind it through back and forth and then remove  the plate and the foil. Tada! Beautiful!

5. If you do not use Pixie spray, and if you spread too much gel, and it leaks it could end up with card stock looking like this.  I think you need to be careful and choose one where the openings are not as close together as this one.   But that  is my experience.  I may have also used too much of the Transfer Gel. I have not done very many of these and I am sure I need more practice.  Even my stars have some boo boos on them.

So now save some moolah on this technique and use TJ10Judy when you check out.

Hope your day is splendid, and you have a chance to get inky.

Birthday Sunflower

Hello everyone, it's Ceal here to share a card with you today.
I can't believe Christ has come and gone and now it is time to stock up on birthday cards.
For my card I used one of my favorites, Single Sunflower along with the Textured Newsprint and Happy Birthday sentiment. You can save 10% on these stamps and your entire order by using my code TJ10Ceal.

To create the card I started with a white top folding card base, a panel of black onyx for the mat, a couple panels of watercolor paper for the image and background. I stamped the Textured Newsprint on the one of the watercolor paper panels and then spritzed it with Dolphin Cove Shimmering Bliss. Next I stamped the Single Sunflower on the other panel of watercolor paper and then stamped the Textured Newsprint on top and colored it using Copic markers. I fussy cut it out and added it to the front of the card and to finish it up I added a birthday greeting.

JE T'AIME

Hi there TJ fans!  I have a Valentine for you.

The Technique Junkies Stamps I used to create this card were "French Sentiments Set of 4" , from the January 2019 Release  and  for the background, this awesome stamp, "Ornate Swirls" .

{Enabler alert!!!  You get a 10% discount on these stamps and your full order by using my personal discount code TJ10CHERI.  Easy peasy!!!! }

To create this card, I  used my MISTI and first stamped the "Ornate Swirls"  on a cream colored card stock layer with a combination of Distress Oxide Inks.  I was looking for a deep rose.  After stamping in the "rose" combination, I then stamped again using a brown color Distress Oxide Ink creating the vintage look I was going for.

On another cream panel I heat embossed the word Je t'aime, from the French Sentiment Set of 4 with a cream embossing powder and inked over it with the same ink combination of colors.  When dry, I used some older heart dies and cut the sentiment out as well as a scalloped heart to place behind it.

I hope you found some inspiration here today.  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget your discount on any and all Technique Junkies Stamps using my discount code!

30 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS - DAY 30

Hello Junkies!!!!

Can you believe it!  We have reached the end of our 30 Days of Christmas event. This is the last day and your final opportunity to grab any or all of the Technique Junkies Christmas Stamps for 20% off (they are already discounted...no code needed).  PLUS, if you add my personal discount code (TJ10CHERI) to your purchase, an additional 10% will come off your purchase of all TJ stamps in your cart.  That's a full 30% off TJ Christmas Stamps and 10% off all other stamps.

Here's a super simple and easy card to make for the holidays...

The one stamp I used for this card is "Vintage Botanical Holly".  You need to have a MISTI for this in order to stamp repeatedly in the same spot.

Before stamping the holly image, I masked off the word "Holly" with a piece of scotch tape.  I then inked the rest of the image in a light blue dye ink, removed the scotch tape and stamped it onto my white card stock.

I repeated this step until I was satisfied with the coverage I had of the holly.  I used a finger dauber to stamp a darker blue dye ink inside areas of the leaves.

I completely cleaned the stamp and then using a red ink, I stamped the word. Again, using a finger dauber, I used a darker red to ink the word and moved the card on the MISTI, just a tiny bit and got a "shadow" effect.

A warm gray Copic marker was used to create the shadow around the image.  I next outlined the holly branch with my white gel pen.  For a final touch, I sprayed the panel with Shimmering Bliss Spray Iridescent Topper (get the sprays for 10% off using my discount code).  I LOVE these sprays!!!!

Once the panel was dry I die cut it, mounted onto a neutral card stock background then onto a card base.  For a final touch, I added red berries with a Viva Pearl Pen.

I hope you found some inspiration here today and throughout the 30 Days of Christmas.  Don't forget to grab the Christmas stamps for 20% off and add an additional 10% off the Christmas stamps and other stamps and products from Technique Junkies Stamps using my personal discount code.

Trick or Treat

Hello friends!! Giovana here today with a Halloween card for you!
Halloween is just around the corner and if you like to create fun cards and decorations, I think this card is just a fun one for you to recreate.
For this project I used Boo Convention background stamp.
I stamped the background on a piece of White cardstock in Black ink, then sprayed it with Dragon Blood Shimmering Bliss, after it dried I die-cut the image using circle dies, then added the circles to a piece of black cardstock and used a rectangle stitched die and die-cut the piece again.
Added the rectangle piece to a black scalloped piece.
Adhered the panel to a A2 white card base.
Stamped the sentiment Trick or Treat on a piece of white cardstock in black ink, then added a bit of color using a gray and red markers.
Added yellow twine behind the sentiment, finally added clear sequins.

You can get these images and the wonderful Shimmering bliss with a 10% discount using my code
TJ10Giovana

Hope you like this project.
 Have an amazing day!

TIME DOES NOT MATTER

Hello Technique Junkies Stamps peeps!

Did you have a chance to take the hop for the new September Stamp Release on Saturday?  These new autumn/fall stamps are stunning and among them are a new line from Technique Junkies new illustrator Jan Tinklenburg of "Mitten State Stamps".  The card I'm showcasing today uses one of her new stamps Autumn Leaves.

The new stamps are all still available for a 15% discount but only until September 8th.  So, if you like them and would love to add them to your autumn stamp collection, nab them now at this great discount.

All other stamps in the Technique Junkies Stamps store can be purchased with a 10% discount by using my personal discount code at check out TJ10CHERI.

I've discovered that a quick way to achieve an illumination for a background is to use a light colored card stock panel in the color family you're hoping to work with.

In this case, I wanted to color these leaves with Copic Markers blending layers of colors, so I started with a light coral colored cs panel and stamped the image with Rhubarb Stalk color ink from Memento.  It worked out beautifully.

As a final touch of elegance, I sprayed the panel with Shimmering Bliss Gold Topper which created spectacular results.

The sentiment is from "Mae West Sentiments" and a fabulous set to have on hand.  I love the sentiments in this collection.  I stamped it in VersaMark on a dark brown scrap of cs and heat embossed it in gold ep.

For a touch of added dimension and glitz I added little dots of gold shimmer from a Nuvo Glitter Marker in Gold around the finished panel.  I also used the gold glitter marker to outline the entire card panel for definition and mounted it on a dark brown card base.

Thanks for stopping by and found some inspiration.  Don't forget the discounts for all the stamps:  15% off the new September 2018 Release stamps (deadline September 8th) and 10% off all other stamps as well as Shimmering Bliss Sprays, by using my discount at check out.

SWEET AND FRAGRANT MEMORIES

Hi there, TJ fans!!!!

Have you ever had a card idea that went south within minutes after you began the project?  Well, that's what happened with my project for this week.  One which I was absolutely sure would come together with no problems....boy, was I wrong.

So, rather than keep re-doing the same idea I changed direction....from my collection of TJ stamps I picked three of my favorites and went in another direction...and I'm happy I did.  These stamps (and all other stamps in the TJ Store) are available to you, if you'd like to purchase them, with a 10% discount if you use my personal discount code of TJ10CHERI.

To create this card I used "Lily Spay", "ATC Dotted Harlequin" and a sentiment from "Sentimental Sayings".  The coloring was done with my Chameleon ColorTone Pencils.  The image was first stamped in a dark green dye ink.  After coloring, I partially inked the harlequin stamp with a medium gray dye ink and off stamped it before bringing it to the panel.  This stamp gave additional texture to the background and was just the right touch.  The sentiment was stamped in the same gray color as the harlequin stamp.  Before placing the panel on a card base of darker gray, I used my VersaMark pen and heat embossed more textured ep around the outside edge.

I hope you found some inspiration here today and will stop by every day to see amazing projects created by the Technique Junkies Design Team.

Don't forget to check out our new challenge...it's about making Artist Trading Coins.  You could win some awesome TJ stamps if you play along with us.  The details are on the challenge post.

One more time, here's my discount coupon for you to use on your shopping trip the Technique Junkies Store.  Have fun!

I stamped it on kraft cs with VersaMark Ink and then heat embossed it with white ep.  I then sponged some Distress Oxide Inks over it and wiped the ink off the embossing.  Before the sponged inks dried, I sprinkled water over the panel which gave it that bokah look.  I colored the image with Prisma color pencils and then accented with with my Wink of Stella clear pen.  I framed it with a die frame and orange cs that I've had forevah....Such a fun card to create.

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

Hi there Junkies....

Today is the LAST DAY to get the newest August Release stamps at 15% off.  You don't have to add a code, it automatically is applied to your purchase.

Here's a little card I did the other day using one of the stamps from the new August release called "Hibiscus Panel".

This image was stamped on watercolor paper and colored using my MozArt brush pens and and aqua brush.  The bg was created using the same pens and a watercolor wash.  I then sprinkled it with water and used a paper towel to lift the color and created the "orb" detail.  After it dried, acrylic black paint and water was mixed and sprinkled over the image for additional detail.  A final touch was adding clear sequins after die cutting the panel and layering it onto a watercolor paper panel colored with Brusos to help accent the image and the colors.

This image is fabulous and I know I'll be using more and more.

I hope this card inspired you!!!

Don't forget about the 15% off discount on all the new stamps and if you'd like a little more on all the other stamps that Technqiue Junkies offers, please us my discount code TJ10CHERI - just add the code before checking out and a 10% discount will be applied.

A Masculine Happy Birthday

Hello Everyone, This is a relatively card to create.  I used a die cut, and sponged the sky and water on a small rectangle piece of white paper.  I brushed some Wink of Stella over the sky to have the early evening stars shimmer.  I used the Nuvo Glitter Markers  and DOTTED - not brushed the color. I discovered that on dark areas when you brush the color on, it appears silver and not the color of shimmer you want.  Then the scan doesn't show the color very well either.  I used a Technique Junkies stamp from the Grand Greetings set -  http://techniquejunkies.com/grand-greetings-set-of-5/ . It is a lovely masculine card and easy to mail.

Have a great day, and get inky!

JUST A NOTE

Hi there Junkies!

Using a masking technique and watercoloring, here's a card I created for today's post.

For this card, I used Margot's Flower, Sentimental Sayings and Crosshatch.

I first stamped the flower on a watercolor panel with Distress Markers, coloring the various areas on the stamp with the markers starting with the lightest and working to the darker ones.  After applying each color, I used a lightly wet brush and blended the color.  Each layer of color was dry and another applied, building the layers and the intensity of the color.

Using masking tape, I taped the panel and sponged some Distress Inks along just the edges.  While the masking tape was still in place I lightly inked and stamped the "Crosshatch" giving a little more detail and dimention to the area.  Removing the mask, I then stamped the sentiment.

I have a coupon for you if you'd like to get a 10% discount on the stamps I used as well as all TJ stamps (excluding the July release stamps).  Just use it at check out and enjoy your purchase.
