I Love You A Latte | 2 Valentine's Day Card Ideas

 

Hello everyone and Happy Saturday.  I made these 2 cards for Valentine's Day, which is fast approaching, but you can certainly use them for any special day.  Especially if you are a coffee lover or have a coffee lover in your life.  

These are very simple to make.  I used 2 of the stamp sets - Falling Checks and Love You A Latte.  I also have a much more detailed step-by-step on my personal blog - HERE - if you want to check it out.

To make the card:

• I made a top-folding A2 card using red cardstock.
• I printed one of the papers from the Coffee Lovers Digital Paper Pack from Graciellie Designs and die-cut it using the same 4' x 5.25" stitched rectangle die.  I also die-cut a piece of white cardstock, which I adhered to the inside of the card. 
• I stamped "Falling Checks" on the printed words using a red ink pad and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder. 
• Using Onyx Black Versafine Ink, I stamped "Love You a Latte" on white cardstock, heat embossed it with clear embossing powder, and die-cut it using a stitched square die.  Using the next size up, I die-cut a piece of red cardstock. 

To finish the card...

• I adhered a piece of fun foam to the back of the checks/words cardstock and then I adhered it to the card front. 
• I adhered the "I Love You A Latte" to the red cardstock, then a piece of fun foam to the back, and then to the card front. 
• Lastly, I stamped the cup from "Love You A Latte" using the red ink, heat embossed it with clear embossing powder, fussy cut the cup, and adhered it to the front of the card.

Happy Monday!

I have a Valentine card to share today.

I wanted a muted background with a splash of color so I used a pale tan ink on the Valentine Love background stamp. I used my MISTI to restamp after adding light pink (I used a water based marker) on the lips. Next I stamped the Truly Madly Deeply sentiment in red ink. I used a 
paintbrush and water to wet the ink and let it bleed a bit. I added some splatters with the same ink. 
Once dry I used my MISTI to restamp the sentiment again in red.

Valentine cards

It's Ceal here. Valentines is right around the corner so I am here to share a couple of cards with you.

My first sample uses the Paris Postmarks background stamp and the You Are so Loved sentiment. 

I started with a white top folding card base and a piece of white cardstock, cut down with a postage stamp die. To create the background, I blended Victorian Velvet distress oxide and then stamped the background using VersaMark ink and embossed it using Rose Gold embossing powder. I also embossed the greeting in rose gold as well. 

My next sample uses the Hugs and Kisses sentiment and the Scribble Roses stencil. To create this card I started with a white top folding card base and a white panel cut down a quarter of an inch smaller. I stamped the sentiment in the center and then used a mask to cover it while I used the stencil around the parameter. To finish the card I die cut some hearts out and ink blended behind he negative space. 

You Stole My Heart

Pretty sure everyone has figured out I'm an animal lover by now. Dogs, cats, chickens and ducks live with me (well, not all in the house). I'm also a lover of animal stamps and today's card features a favorite. How can you go wrong with a cute puppy stamp?

You Are So Loved

Hello Junkies!

It's Ceal, here to share with you today I am gearing up to make lots of Valentines cards, and this stamp is perfect, so perfect that you don't even have to use it for valentines, you can use it anytime of the year to let someone know how much they are loved. To make this card I started with a white top folding card base, a Powder Pink panel embossed with a heart embossing folder and of course this fabulous stamp You Are So Loved.

Using the Mini Misti, I stamped the image on a scrap piece of cardstock in Versamark ink and then wiped off the hearts and sprigs and embossed just the greeting in gold embossing powder. Because I used the MISTI I was able to go back and color the hearts and sprigs with Tombow markers and stamp again to give it more color. I then used a stitched heart die to cut it out and attached to the front of my card using foam tape.

Glassy Embossing Valentine

This Valentine uses a couple of TJ techniques. The Cuttlebug layer with the candy hearts uses the Glassy Embossing technique from the current February newsletter. The heart was cut from a scrap of card stock that was created with the Antique Glimmers technique. I then sponged some ink over the top of the tiny embossed hearts. I used two other heart punches to add layers and dimensions. I used punches, die cuts, and eyelets to add the other embellishments.

Sneak Peek for the February TJ Newsletter

Mono Die Technique Sneak Peek

I just love the beauty and simplicity of this new technique from the February Technique Junkies newsletter. I used a heart die cut from BossKut. The heart has a lovely flourish on one side. I used one of the flourish cut outs as an embellishment underneath the greeting. The stamp for the greeting is from Inkadinakadoo.

I sponged each heart with red ink to highlight the edges. The base card of white card stock and the white mat for the greeting were also sponged with red ink.

Gold glimmer mist spray was spritzed over the hearts before adding the matted greeting. That spritz of gold glimmer mist added an elegant touch to the card.
