Embossed Puzzle by Judy Jackson

This Embossed Puzzle technique is from the Technique Junkie August/September newsletter.  But it just fit the focal image from Stampin' Up and highlighted it so nicely.  This makes a wonderful Christmas card.

The image is colored with Copic markers.

One of my goals for this year is to have all of my Christmas cards made early.  and I did accomplish that goal!  I hope all of your Christmas preperations are going well.  Enjoy this season of celebration.  I hope you have crafting goals of your own!

Hi TJ Friends! Kathie McGuire here on your stamping weekend. Is everyone getting ready for Christmas? Seems like it! I've already been working on Christmas cards, and this year I've chosen a design from the Fancy Folds and Motion CD--the Tri Shutter card. This card doesn't have a lot of stamping on it because I wanted the fold to be the main focus and then I let some decorative papers do the rest. Happy Holidays everyone! Kathie

Eggshell Technique

Hi everyone it's Jackie K here. I have been thinking for quite some time that I wanted to revisit the older CD's that I haven't looked at for awhile. This technique is really an oldie but Boy oh Boy is it a Goodie! It is the Eggshell technique from the First Edition CD 2003 and it is a Bonus technique. I remembered this technique after I made some egg salad and had all the shells in the sink. So I looked for it and found it. This card is the result. All those shimmery eggshells at the bottom of the card were sprayed with gesso, painted with acrylic paint and doused with glitter. Of course that was after I had glued them all to some light weight cardboard cut to the shape I had in mind. Pretty cool hey? So if you think those older CD's have techniques that are old and out of style...you are so wrong. Revisit them yourself and give some a try. I think I will pick a technique from CD 2 for the next time I post here in 2 weeks.

I hope to see you then,
Jackie K

On the Side by Judy Jackson

I love this image from River City Rubber Works. It is just a fun image. And their saying goes perfectly with this stamp, don't you think?

This was a fun technique to work with. It was interesting looking through my stamps to see what stamps I had that would work with this technique. This works well I think.

The faux suede rick rack is a perfect masculine touch. I plan to use this card for my brother's birthday come January.

I hope your Thanksgiving holiday was great! Now on to Christmas! Are your cards made or at least in process?

Ann here with a cute Snowman card

Ann Clack here today.  Okay....Thanksgiving is over so we can now look forward to Christmas!  Here is a darling Snowman card I'll be teaching to a class.  The snowman is colored using the TJ technique called Distress Ink Watercoloring.  Really easy with great results.  The background of the card is made using the TJ technique called Distressed Spritzing.  I used a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop.  The snowflake is a punch from EK Success.  Hope you enjoy!

Holly Brown: Herringbone Ho Ho Ho

Hi Junkies!  It's Holly posting today.  Did you enjoy your Thanksgiving day with your friends and family yesterday?  I hope you all had a wonderful time celebrating and being thankful for everything you have.

Now it's time to think about Christmas, and I've got an easy Christmas card to share with you today.  I've used the Herringbone Technique (12/09 issue) with some holiday papers and I added the fun sentiment and a sprig of holly leaves and berries.  The sentiment stamp (Impression Obsession) and the die cuts, papers, and seam binding were all purchased from Classy Cards 'n Such, one of our TJ vendors.

This is my first time trying the Herringbone Technique, and I had a blast!  It's really fun and easy once you get the first few steps started.  Now I can't wait to try this with all the other papers I've got in my stash - it might be a Herringbone Christmas around my house this year.  :-)
