This card was really a joy to make as it comes to life as you go along.

The stamps used are from Sizzix, PSX and Technique Junkies.

 

It appears that I need to clean the glass on my scanner, LOL! I haven't had use of my desktop in several days. We are having some serious dust storms which they have recently named haboobs. I didn't think I was going to be able to post my card at all. I gave it one last try before going to bed and got lucky.

 

I hope you find some inspiration here and try some of the oldies but goodies.

TOTW - Crinkled Watercolors

Hi Junkies, its that time again, the Technique of the Week.  I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.  I love being able to try all the techniques and I really anticipate who will join in each week with their lovely creations.

This week we are featuring "Crinkled Watercolors".  This fast became one of my favorites and I know it will be one that I continue to use...maybe in some Christmas card (which I need to start soon) LOL...Maybe a Christmas in July will come to Try That Technique...who knows...stay tuned.

Well I digress...here is this weeks card.  My mom needed a card for my cousins wedding last weekend so I colored up this sweet image from Stampin Up!  My cousin and his new wife love to ride and they are not frilly people so I thought this CAS card would do the trick.  I colored the image with copics and watercolored the background with my copic refills to match my background.

The sentiment is from Stampabilities and is cut out using a spellbinders die.  I added a little flair with a stencil and my airbrush (which I believe is another TJ Newsletter technique :))

Embossed Color Pencils by Judy Jackson

I love to water color. I love to watercolor with lots of different mediums.  In fact, using watercolor pencils was how I was first introduced to stamping.  Bingo, it was an immediate love!  And back then I was taught to use a damp Q-tip to dampen the color from the watercolor pencils and in that way to spread the color around. So primitive and yet it caught my eye!  Watercolor pencils are just a very easy way to learn how to watercolor.  And a good water brush is essential for this -- although you just might get hooked using a Q-tip! 

This technique, Embossed Color Pencils, from the current newsletter  is just about perfect to enhance the look of watercolor pencils, regular colored pencils, Prisma color pencils, or any other color pencils you might have.  For each of the cards I have to share with you, only a portion of the colored image is embossed.  Unfortunately, these embossed sections don't show up very well in the scans.

I have four cards to share with you  -  see if you can tell which part is embossed.  I will tell you at the end of my post which parts are embossed.  See if you can guess correctly.

Have you used your colored pencils in a while? If not, now is a good time to use them!  I really like taking stamping images, watercolor pencils, and a good water brush with me when I travel.  So if I have "down time" - waiting time in a airport or on a plane - I can still be productive.   Then I have a bunch of focal images ready to be used -- or put in my "card parts" drawer!

Copic Colored Blocks

Hi, it's Beth Norman here with Copic Colored Blocks for you.  You will find this amazing technique on the Designer Paper Perfection CD.  What a fun technique.  My stamps are from Verve Stamps.  My designer paper is from BasicGrey.

TOTW - Embossed Color Pencils

Hi Junkies, Tricia here with this weeks "Try that Technique".  I loved seeing your creations from last week, they were all fantastic and I am so happy so many of you joined along.

This is such a cool technique and so easy to do.  I did this card up for my cousins' wedding celebration this weekend.  I love this stamp from I Brake For Stamps, I use it for all kinds of celebrations.  I colored it up with my prismacolor pencils.  The sentiment is one from Gina K Designs.

It's hard to see the embossing in this picture so I took this one to show you.  It adds a new level of interest to your card.
