Love, Laughter and Coffee

Hello fellow stampers!

Most coffee cards are done in brown tones with coffee bean or coffee stain stamps.  I took a different take on it by doing mine up in pink, white and brown.

Using Love Laughter and Coffee, I selected markers in pinks and browns.  Placing my stamp onto a misti, I proceeded to colour each section and pressing out the stamp.  Each section was repeated numerous times to achieve bold lettering.

Once I was happy with my lettering, brown matting was added as well as a pink banner.  My background was dry embossed.

Have a great week ahead!

Thanks for stopping by.

Jingle Bells

Halloween is right around the corner, so that means Christmas isn't too far off, right? Well, I've been busily making Christmas cards and I have one to share with you today. It features two new finds for this month: Joyful Jingle and Jingle Bells Stencil.

I used some Christmas paper I had in my stash to cover the base of the card. I pressed a Versamark pad through the stencil onto a piece of cardstock and embossed it with. a glittery gold embossing powder. I trimmed that piece down, added some ink with a blending brush, and attached a burgundy cardstock mat. I added that to my card base. I then stamped the sentiment on another piece of cardstock, once in black and once with versamark, and embossed with the same powder. I also added ink to that and a burgundy mat. On the back of that I added some foam tape and a cut of twine. That was attached to the card base, along with a couple of gold embellishments to finish off the card.

Now, just in case you were really hoping to see a Halloween card, here is one I made last year using Howl-o-Ween. Still a favorite of mine.

Paint with Peace!

This card uses Faces of Diversity and Celebrate Diversity.  The verse was heat embossed.  I will  not lie and say coloring these faces was quick, but how I did it made it faster!  I did it assembly line style.   Using my Copic markers I chose a skin color and then chose faces for that skin color.  Then the next skin color, and so on.  Then I did the hair. Last was the clothing.   I found the colored the strip of paper and thought it went with the verse.   We certainly live in a diverse culture.

I also spritzed the top with Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper!  Love this stuff!!

Please remember to use TJ10Judy when you check out to get 10% off your total order.

I hope your day is warm and wonderful, and that you get inky!!

SENTIMENTAL TULIP

Hi, Happy Stampers! It's Ro here today to share my love of some sentiment stamps that are available through Technique Junkies. I don't know about you, but sometimes the hardest part of making a card is figuring out your sentiment. Well, I have a little secret....Simple Sentiments. Here is a sample created with a newer stamp set and a sentiment from the Simple Sentiments series.

First off, I love this image stamp. So much fun to color! And it is one of those great background stamps that you can use for a myriad of occasions. I stamped it on a good quality cardstock and colored it using Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils. I added a beautiful shimmer (see below) with some Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper

I have to admit, I love a little shimmer on my cards! And this Dazzle certainly fills the bill!  I added some torn paper to the background piece and attached them to an A2 card base. Next I added the sentiment, also with a torn paper background to the top to finish off my card.

Now let's talk sentiments. I love, love, love (did I mention love?) the Simple Sentiments sets. Whether you like a more chunky style like the A series, a cleaner font like the B series, or a vertical font like the C series, you are sure to find one to perfectly capture the message you want to share on your project.  Admittedly, I will use the B series the most since I like a clean look. But I have used the A series quite a bit too for the cards that need a bolder sentiment. I have compiled the complete series of stamps in a few images below so you can see them all and see which ones are your favorite.

I keep these sitting on the "easy access" portion of my stamping area. I reach for them so often, they earned their own spot of honor. I can always find just the right sentiment for my project.

Are you as charmed by these as I am? Would you like to save 10%? Just enter my code at checkout.

Who doesn't like to save a little dough, am I right? I encourage you to check out all the great images and sentiments available at Technique Junkies. I'm sure you will find just what you're looking for!

Hope you found a little inspiration and some good information here today. Let me know your favorite style of sentiment!

Til next time,
Keepin' it inky!

Merry Christmas Little Penguin - Christmas in July Challenge

I used one the penguins from the Let's Chill stamp set. I created an igloo using a circle die and an oval die.  I drew the ice block lines by hand.  The penguin's hat and sweater were colored with Copic markers. I used a homemade cloud stencil and the tiny stamp Breathe - ask Pat Huntoon to make you one!    I die cut the Merry Christmas  from red glitter paper.   I spritzed it all with Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper spray

Pat Huntoon, owner of Technique Junkies Stamps, has announced a Christmas in July Challenge.  The Christmas Challenge officially begins on July 17th and will run from July 17 to July 26.  However, she is giving you a special discount of 25% off of all the Christmas category Technique Junkies stamps from July 13 through July 27!   Use the code JULYXMAS.   And Pat Huntoon says, "And what would the holidays be without presents? Just be Sweet!

I  used Tulip with Text and words from Five Fab Phrases.  This is a great set.    I think you can make more than five phrases from this set!

Here are the phrases I came up with from this set.  Can you come up with more?
Just be sweet
Just Smile
Just Enjoy
Just Hello
Just be happy
Just dream
Simply smile
Simply dream
Simply be happy
You make me dream
You make me happy
You make me smile.

I stamped the image three times.  I sprayed the background with Ocean Depth Shimmering Bliss.   Then I painted the second image of just the tulip  with Shimmering Bliss.   I used a green for the stem and leaves.  And I used a red for the tulip it self.  But you could use purple, yellow, pink, dark blue, and a mixture of these same colors. I fussy cut the entire tulips out and popped it up.  Then I painted and cut out just the third tulip and popped it up again.  I added a tiny red bow at the base of the tulip.

The words were  stamped and heat embossed and cut out, layered, and mounted.

A Girl Should Be ---

Sometimes  you find a stamp that has a verse with it, and you find another word stamps that would also fit that stamp perfectly.  That is how I felt with the two stamps for this card.

I liked the little girl in Happy On and Who and What She Wants go together very well.

I used Copic markers to color the little girl. And I sponged the grass and sky.  I used a craft knife and slit the card stock by her sleeve to thread and tie the ribbon.  The background is designer paper.

The greeting is a new January release and is on sale automatically 15% off through January 8.
Then you can my personal Design Team coupon code TJ10Judy and get another 10% off.

Have a wonderful, marvelous day, and get inky!
