Happy Thursday Junkies!!

Jerri here  to share a card made with some of the awesome August Release Stamps.  I hope everyone is enjoying their week.  Things have been busy busy around here so a quick and easy card seemed to be just what the doctor ordered.

Here's a card using two of the August release stamps.

Here's how I made my card:

I stamped the background using Contemporary Floral Stamp #638.  I used a gray ink pad and randomly stamped around the edges of my card. I used only the top portion of the stamp since the bottom of the stamp is mostly stems.  For the Sentiment, I chose the new stamp called Always Hope #SD651. I stamped it on a piece of white cardstock. I cut the sentiment out with my Cuttlebug and a Spellbinders die.  I also cut a piece of purple cardstock with my same Spellbinders die just one size larger to layer behind the sentiment.  I rounded the corners of the card to finish it off.  This was super easy and quick.

The Right Shoes...

Hello Fellow Junkies!!

It's The Crafty Nurse here with a clean and simple card share for you using the gorgeous Technique Junkies stamp called "The Right Shoes #SD610."  I colored them with Copic Markers in R05, R27, R46, which is one of my favorite red combinations.  The bottom of the shoes are C3, C5, and C7 and the skin colors are E50, E51, and E21.

The background was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with clear powder using "Faint Scratches #SD518." This background stamp is perfect for so many design types and I find myself reaching for it often to add great texture.

The Right Shoes stamp is so striking on it's own I wanted to showcase it with a clean design.  The angle piece was cut using My Favorite Things Blueprint #15 die and I finished off the card with waxed linen bow.

Finding Our Way

Good morning fellow stampers.  Beth Norman here with a Watercolor Distress card for you.  You can find the Watercolor Distress technique in the February 2007 edition of the Technique Junkie Newsletter.

My Dragonfly, set of 2, was heat embossed using a purple/pink embossing powder and is overlapping a leaf.  I love those leaves and am sorry we can't buy them any more.

After distressing my background I stamped Curved Bamboo over top in black VersaFine and added Find Our Way sentiment.

Edging was distressed with Distress Ink.

Hi, it's Gini and I have to admit, I have a thing for bees, so when I saw this Botanical Bee stamp, I had to have it.  To complete the scene, I added a honeycomb die cut background.It's a great image stamp with really fun sentiments.

La La La!!!

I love the crispness of a black and white design.

Lots of Buzz....

{jane bosi}  Hello, Junkies!!!  That's right!  Lots of buzz is being generated at Technique Junkie stamps!  Today, my project features the Botanical Bee set and tutorial from the Sensational Stencils CD!

The tutorial is called Pasted Dylusions.  I chose a stencil of  hexagonal shapes to add to the bee theme of the card--I think it is very hivey looking :)  After allowing the paste to set, I used three different shades of yellow and orange to create the colorful background.  Once that was finished, I added some Vintage Photo distress ink to highlight the stencil shapes.  I love this technique for the extra dimension and color it adds to any project.

I'm sure you can tell that the bee in this set is HUGE!!!  I surely would not want to meet him in real life, but he is perfect for this card along with the witty saying!  And, just in case you do not yet have a bunch of stencils (like some people I know.....) to use with this fabulous CD, Technique Junkies has some super cool ones for you to grab!  They ARE generating lots of buzz.................

Prills and Bricks - Living on the Edge

I'm taking my teenage niece to NYC for the first time this week. I made a fun card to give her along with an itinerary for the trip.
