Let your light shine

Good Morning!

I hope you are enjoying a nice, relaxing weekend!!

For today's share, I'm featuring the Let your light shine stamp.
I wanted to add a little contrast to the background, so I reverse masked a circle and sponged in with some light blue ink. I coloured the image with Copic Markers and added a Die Cut Ship for additional interest!

Have a wonderful day,

Psalm 96:11

Hello friends!! Giovana here today with a super cool technique, a way to stretch your supplies to the max, hehehe, this technique it's very easy, I promise.

I have few pictures to show you the steps, so let's get started:
  • First, scribble the blue glitter marker from Nuvo Midnight Shadows on a piece of acetate and combine it with clear embossing paste.
  • Put together a piece of watercolor paper and stencil, here I used Diamond Fade Stencil and start applying the mix, add more glitter marker to the embossing paste to create a ombre effect.
  • After your paste mix is dried, you can see the glittery shimmer on your piece, it is beautiful!!
  • Stamp sentiment on a piece of vellum using your MISTI. The sentiment is from our new release "Psalms of the sea" set. Then stamp the wave, also from the same set.

And here it is the card all finished, I added few dew drops and ribbon. Easy and very elegant, the pictures really don't do justice.

Hope you like this project and give this super easy technique a try. Remember you can get the highlight products HERE, remember you can get the new release stamps with a 15% discount until today!!! You can add my discount code TJ10Giovana for a 10% off in other products.

Have a fantastic day!!

Seahorse Set

Hi, fellow Junkies!! Ro here today!

I've been happily playing with the new June releases, and Seahorse Set of 4 (SS074) is what I have to feature for you today. Remember, the June stamps are on special until only June 8. You can save 15% (automatically applied at checkout) on all the new releases. If you'd like to save 10% off the rest of your purchases at any time throughout the month, simply enter the code below:
The first card is done on kraft cardstock with white embossing powder.
After embossing the images, I flicked some Kuretake watercolors and black Wink of Stella over the panel. This was then mounted to a colored panel and attached to the kraft card base.

The next card features another new product: Nuvo Glitter Markers. There are three fun sets called Northern Lights, Ember Glow and Midnight Shadows. I used pens from the Midnight Shadows and Ember Glow collections for this card.

For the background, I stamped Sudsy Stuff (S747), another June release, using Memento Ink (Sky Blue). I then colored directly onto the seahorse and shell stamps with the markers and stamped them onto the panel. I added “sand” using all three colors from Ember Glow. That panel was trimmed down and mounted on a black piece of cardstock, which was then attached to a white card base.

I absolutely love the new releases for June. If you'd like to see all the new releases, simply follow this link.

Hope you have been intrigued to try these new products!

Til next time,
Keepin' it inky!

Dreams of a Watercolored Mermaid

The Crafty Nurse "swimming" by to share some mid-week inspiration using stamps from the Technique Junkies June release. You still have a few days to receive 15% percent off this great release over at the Technique Junkies store.

The background for my card is from Sensational Stencils CD called Distress Stain Dip.  I changed it up to use Distress Paint instead of stains in the colors Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon and Wild Honey.  I added a wave texture using a Tim Holtz Stencil then added additional distress ink around the edges.

For the focal image, I stamped "Mermaid on Rock" onto 140lb. watercolor paper with Archival Ink.  I colored my mermaid using Windsor Newton Watercolor markers and added highlights with prismacolor pencils.  Adding pencils over watercolor is a great way to add depth to your coloring.

We would love for you to join our monthly challenges for a chance to win prizes.  Don't forget to share your work over at the Facebook group.  We love to see your cards and projects.

Enjoy your day!!

A Review of Chameleon Color Tones Pencils

Hello folks.  Beth Norman here.  Recently I purchased Chameleon Color Tone pencils, not knowing what to expect.  I'm a die-hard colourer with Prismacolor pencil crayons and odorless mineral spirits.  I've spent upwards of 4+ hours colouring one detailed stamped image.  I was amazed at how well these pencils blend and cut down the time of blending with odorless mineral spirits.
I love these pencil crayons and here's why:

  • They are compact.  50 colours in one box (the pencil crayon has a light and a dark tone on one pencil)
  • The ease of blending is awesome.  What used to take me 30 minutes can be achieved in half that time. Here is an example of what I blended in 15 minutes

  •  I love the way the pencil crayons are displayed as I used them seen below
  • Carrying around a case without the paraphernalia of blending solutions, stumps, and a large leather case that holds 150 pencil crayons can be cumbersome.  Grabbing the thin packaging of these pencils is an awesome feeling.  I don't need an extra bag to carry with me.
  •  Leads come pre-sharpened and are hard
  • Blending solution is not required to blend two, or more, colours together
Here are a few samples of what I did with my Chameleon Color Tones:
This wonderful stamp is called Whimsical World.

I coloured on Kraft paper too.  Colour was directly applied.  I did not colour white over my image before colouring.  The stamps I used are called Flourished Floral and the sentiment is Life is Beautiful.
For 10% off your order, at Technique Junkies, feel free to use my 10% discount code.  Have fun playing!  Scroll down to the bottom for links to videos on the Chameleon Color Tones pencils.
