Wedding Scribble Roses

This weekend I purchased some Distress Resist Spray, so I thought I'd give it a try with the Scribble Roses Stencil.  Remember, you can use my code TJ10Stephanie for 10% off your entire purchase at the Technique Junkies Store (which includes stencils, stamps and other products).

Unfortunately I didn't get quite the resist effect I was hoping for (as the spray dried it seeped under the stencil itself, so I didn't get quite the striking resist I was hoping for).

However, when things don't turn out the way you planned ... there is always Plan B ... which for me was some beautiful Wedding cards.  For the blue one, there was a little residual red ink still on the stencil which seeped into the paper (one of those happy accidents) and then when that ink combined with the Ocean Depth Shimmering Bliss Spray, I got hints of purple peeking through the design.

I added a paper flower, some deconstructed bling flourishes and a lovely Mr. & Mrs. Sentiment from the new Technique Junkies Wedding Wishes Stamp Set.

I decided to stick with the Wedding theme for my second card.  In the picture above, I used some Red Distress Inks direct to paper ... but when I went to assemble my card, the red ink started rubbing off, so I wiped it clean and then used some beautiful Thulian Pink and Harvest Sunset Shimmering Bliss Sprays to achieve this gorgeous background.

I added another great Sentiment from Wedding Wishes, some heart bling and then I *tied the knot* with a piece of wide white ribbon.

Remember, if your first attempt doesn't turn out exactly how you pictured in your mind, there is always Plan B.

Snowflake Hugs

The Snowflakes and the verse are all from Technique Junkies Snowflakes set.   They are embossed with white embossing powder on tan  card stock.  Then I used A Colorful Life Stencil Medallion Fade.   I sprayed Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper over the stencil to add interest to the background.

Please remember to use my discount code TJ10Judy to get 10% off of your entire order.

Have a good day and get inky!

Oh Christmas Tag

The current Technique Junkies Challenge is to make a Christmas Tag.   I love Christmas Tags ... and I love turning them into cards.  Remember, you can use my Discount Code TJ10Stephanie at Check-Out for 10% off you Technique Junkies order.

I started with a Kraft Tag, the A Colorful Life Rough Edge Circlezz Stencil, and my MISTI.

I  love using my MISTI for stenciling ... everything stays where I want it to and clean-up on my MISTI mousepad is super-easy.

I applied some temporary adhesive to the tag to hold it in place, since I specifically wanted to position it where one of the circles was over the circle at the top of the tag.

I combined Evergreen Bough and Mowed Grass Distress Inks to create my tag background using my favorite Make-Up Brush (it seriously change my ink-blending life).

Once I finished my tag, I stamped A Very Merry Christmas on another Kraft Tag (it was actually the back side of the first tag I tried to stencil with Distress Oxide Ink that turned out paler than I wanted ... so I recycled).

Once I put my tag together, I realized I had managed to cover-up most of my stenciling, so I used the same inks and Rough Edge Circlezz Stencil and a lighter Kraft Cardstock to create my background.

I love that with my MISTI, I can peek as I go along to see that I'm getting the variation in color that I was hoping to achieve.

I assembled my tag/card using flowers from Little Birdie and a coordinating card base.

Remember, if you join the Technique Junkies Holiday Tag Challenge you have a chance to win a $25.00  Gift Certificate to the Technque Junkies Store.

30 Days of Christmas - Day 24

Hello and welcome to day 24 of our 30 days of Christmas ... the Technique Junkies Design Team will be posting a Christmas project on the blog from October 15th through November 13th, so be sue to check back every day for some inspiration, also if today is your first time here scroll back to the start date October 15th so you don't miss anything.

Also, all Technique Junkies Christmas Stamps are on Sale through November 13th ... you will save 20% off all Christmas stamps AND you can also use my code TJ10Stephanie for an additional 10% off your entire order (you can stack the %-off for this Christmas celebration).

I love the gorgeous Green of Luscious Lawn Shimmering Mist for Holiday card designs.

I used the Shimmering Mist with the Flowing Drops Stencil from A Colorful Life to create my background.  It's a large stencil, so I was able to create a 5"x7" card base.

I stamped Technique Junkies Vintage Merry Christmas in coordinating Green Ink and die cut with a Postage Stamp Die.  I finished with a wrap of Green Seam Binding and a big Christmas bow.

After I sprayed my stencil, I used a second piece of cardstock to soak-up the excess spray ... that gave me two backgrounds to use.

This card uses the second background (and a had enough background left for a third card if I want).

I added a Polaroid camera die (because in our family, many of our childhood Christmas memories involve Polaroid photos).  I added the Technique Junkies All is Calm Sentiment and one of the snowflakes from the new Technique Junkies Snowflakes Stamp Set.

Have you used some Shimmering Mist to make Holiday Cards?  If so, we'd love if you linked them up in the Technique Junkies Facebook Group (you can also check it out for lots of Technique Junkies inspiration).

Books & Roses

Have you joined the Technique Junkies Facebook Group and A Colorful Life Designs Facebook Fan Group?  Both are awesome ways to share your creations and find inspiration.

Technique Junkies has a large selection of Stencils from A Colorful Life Designs including one of my favorites ... Scribble Roses.  Remember, you can use my Discount Code TJ10Stephanie for 10% off anything in the store.

For today's card, I started by covering a piece of white cardstock with Weathered Wood Distress Ink using my new mystery tool ... a Make-up Brush.

Next, I used the same Make-up Brush with Seedless Preserves Distress Ink and the Scribble Roses Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (remember, you can always click on the images to see them larger).  I love the clean lines I got using my brush to apply the ink.

I cut my stenciled square into two pieces, so I could cover a 5" x 7" card base.

I used a vintage library card (I love how the last person to check it out had a little smiley face) and a sentiment from Technique Junkies Bookworm Set of 6.

I hope you'll join the Groups and share your creations with us.

Shimmering Bliss Stenciling

Today I am sharing cards made with gorgeous Chestnut Mare Shimmering Bliss Spray and the Circles Make Circles Stencil.

Remember, if you use my discount code TJ10Stephanie you can get 10% off anything in the store including Stencils & Shimmering Bliss Sprays.

This card was made with a messy third print using the over-spray of the Mist that set on top of the stencil.  I flipped the stencil over a second time (you'll see the less messy second print below) and then sprayed on a bit more Mist on the stencil and flipped it over a second time on the paper.

The Motorcycle is from the new Enjoy the Ride Stamp Set and sentiment is from Inside Out Live Forever Set of 10.

I started with a piece of paper sprayed with Miami Vice Shimmering Mist and a scrap of white cardstock for my projects.  The first and second prints are below.

The next card using the top print in the picture above and this week's TGIF Challenges Sketch.

The truck is also from the Enjoy the Ride Set (there are five vehicles and one sentiment) and the Happy Birthday is from Simple Sentiments Set 1, Style a.

I used coppery rose gold sequins to complement the metallic shimmer of the spray.

My final card is the stenciled piece made by spraying the Chestnut Mare spray through the stencil onto the Miami Vice sprayed piece of cardstock

The Airplane & sentiment are both from the Enjoy the Ride Stamp Set.

I finished with some Copper Nail Head stickers.

Have you created with the new Shimmering Bliss?  We'd love to see you share your creations in the Technique Junkies Facebook Group.

A Colorful Life Stencil Designs

Did you know that in addition to a huge collection of unique red rubber stamps, the Technique Junkies store also has a fabulous line of Stencils by A Colorful Life?

And remember, if you go shopping at Technique Junkies, use my discount code TJ10Stephanie at checkout for 10% off your purchase.

For today's card, I used Stencils over some of the Gel Press prints from my stash.  I made these using bubble wrap during one of my classes at Creativation.

This stencil is called Rough Edge Circlezz Stencil.  I sponged Blue Print Distress Ink on top of my Gel Press Paper.

To paint my sweet little She Is Fierce Birdie, I used a paint brush that still had some gold paint leftover from my Life and Beer card and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, which produced a lovely pink shimmer.

For the next card I used the Classic Harlequin Stencil and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink over a gold Gel Press print.  The ink didn't want to stick to the painted background, so I used clear embossing powder over the sponged ink.

The sentiment is from the new fun set of Inside Out Stamps called Live Forever (there are 10 stamps in the set ... such a great deal).

Here's the *snort* inside sentiment and a piece of the Gel Press paper before I added the stencil.

Go check out the pages of awesome stencils in the Technique Junkies Store ... and use my discount code for 10% off your purchase.

From White to Wonderful

Hi, again, All! Hope you enjoyed the hop yesterday and got lots of ideas (and goodies!). I know there are a few things on my shopping list!

It's Toodle Noodle Ro, here, to share with you a fun project that is perfectly color-coordinated...starting with just white paper and ribbon!

Have you ever had a design in mind but just couldn't get your papers and embellishments to coordinate? I hate when that happens. But here is a simple fix!  Art Anthology Spray, white cardstock, white ribbon and a great stamp and stencil!

Everything but the card base started out white! And look how great they match! If you don't have Art Anthology sprays, any mistable spray (think reinker and water in a spray bottle) will work for this.

All I did was tape a piece of white CS and my stencil to my craft area and sprayed with a couple of my favorite colors of Art Anthology Spray.

I used A Colorful Life Stencil called High Frequency. I sprayed both colors across, removed my stencil (and promptly cleaned it), and let the CS dry. While it was drying, I trimmed down a couple more pieces of CS and sprayed each one with one of the colors. I did the same thing with a couple pieces of white ribbon.

Once dry, I stamped the sentiment using the Bring Wine stamp. I then die cut the two front pieces and assembled my card. I love these two colors together, and I love how easy it was to make everything coordinate. I added just a few sequins for that ever-lovin' bling.

If you love this project and want "the goods" for your own, AND you'd like to save 10%, simply enter the code below at checkout (no expiration!):

Happy stamping!

Til next time,
Keepin' it inky!

New York City!!

Everyone needs to send a sympathy card or a get well card now and then.  This card could be used for either occasion.

First I used a stencil from the A Colorful Life stencil collection - http://techniquejunkies.com/a-colorful-life-stencils/   - and used pale green Art Nuvo Embellishment Mousse - http://techniquejunkies.com/products-and-accessories/nuvo-mousse/  .  Then I used  Technique Junkies City Watercolors -  www.techniquejunkies.com/city-watercolors/ - and heat embossed it on vellum. It was adhered with adhesive from my Xyron machine. The green leaves show up through through the vellum and give it a cool look!

I heat embossed the verse - In My Prayers - http://techniquejunkies.com/in-my-prayers/   -  on white card stock and layered it on glitter paper.

Don't forget to look over all of the lovely stamps and choose several stamps and take advantage of the 15% off sale of new stamps through May 8 but you may also use the TJ10Judy and get 10% off of anything else in her store.

Have a great day  and get inky!
