Golden Beauty

The Crafty Nurse here with mid-week inspiration.

Today, I've used the "Vine Beauty" to create a golden beauty.

My background is gold glitter paste applied through a marque stencil. You can also use translucent embossing paste and apply gold embossing powder over the top.  I then sprayed with Distress Mica Spray in Tarnished Brass.  My "Vine Beauty" is stamped with Delicata Golden Glitz using my MISTI and also sprayed with Mica.  I then hand doodled a frame using the BEST gold marker called, "Extra Fine Point Paint Marker" by Pilot.

We are getting ready for the BIGGEST holiday release yet on September 1st.  Until then, please join us at the Facebook group and over on the Design Team Blog for our challenge.

Happy Inking

Head Up!!

Good Morning!  Chris here today with a simple encouragement card using the new stamp, Head UP.

Every one needs a crown once in awhile, right?

To create this card, I masked off the greeting, so I could stamp the girl only onto Hammermill paper with Memento ink with my MISTI.  I then simply added a bit of skin tone and hair color with Copic markers.  I used a Gold Wink of Stella pen on her crown and added tiny adhesive rhinestones to bling it up.

The greeting was stamped separately, masking off the girl, with Versafine ink on black cardstock, and heat embossed in white.

The simple striped background and the yellow frame make both the image and the greeting really pop.

Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you adjust your crown and wear it proudly all day!
Until next time,
Chris

LLAMA LLOVE

Who doesn't llove a llama??? This new release has quickly become one of my favorites (and I'll bet one of yours too!).

Be Cool Llamas (SD818) comes as a single image...

...but with a little careful snipping, I turned it into three separate images. If you don't like doing stamp surgery, you can also use masking techniques.

For the first card, I created a background using the Dot Matrix stencil from Art Anthology and some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse (Persian Red) on some orange cardstock. While that dried, I stamped the black and white llamas several times on white cardstock using a grey ink and cut them out using my Brother Scan-N-Cut. I then stamped the "Cool" llama in purple, and then again in black and cut them out. From the black image, I carefully colored and cut the sunglasses and added some craft lacquer to the lens area and let it dry thoroughly.

Once everything was dry, I added embossed panel to the card base, and attached the neutral llamas. I curled their ears forward a bit to give them a little dimension. I added some decorative trim, then placed the colorful llama wearing his sporty sunglasses on the front with dimensional tape.

For the second card, I alternately stamped the black and white llamas around the edge of the card base. On a separate piece of cardstock, I stamped and embossed the "cool" llama using Nuvo Embossing Powder in Blue Odyssey. Using alcohol markers, I colored in the sunglasses and lenses. I then die cut him out along with a matting panel and attached it to the card with dimensional tape.

These cool guys are so adorable. I can see using them on all kinds of cards and scrapbook layouts.

If you want to add these llovely llamas to your collection, or any of the other fun stamps at Technique Junkies, simply enter the code below at checkout and save 10%.

I hope you found a little inspiration today! I'll see you soon! Be sure you visit us on September 1st when we will have a fun hop full of brand new stamps! In the meantime, stay tuned for the next post by one of our talented Design Team.

Til next time,
Keepin' it inky!

BE COOL LLAMA

Hi there Junkies!

The cutest (and most fun) Llama on the stamping block is the "Be Cool Llama" from the August 2017 release.

I had so much fun playing around with this stamp and I'll be using it more in future cards, but for this one, I gave them a party....lots of rainbow colored waterfall dots using "Here We Go Round In Circles" (this set has become one of my favorites).  I did a little masking in order to get the multiple layers from the stamp rather than cut the stamp apart.

Using my MISTI, I first masked the open line llama with a post-it note while I inked up the solid images with VersaFine Black Ink.  Removing the mask, I stamped the inked images onto a white cs layer.  I continued to repeat this process until I was happy with the depth of the black ink on the solid images.

On a separate cardstock layer I reversed the process and masked the two solid images then stamped the open line llama image.  I created an image mask for this one with masking paper and cut it out and layed it over the llama while I stamped the rainbow dots with Distress Inks.  Additionally, for more detail I chose some gel pens close to the DI colors and added those.

I used a border die to cut the solid image and then added a piece of black scrap to accent it.  I then taped that assembled piece to the rainbow piece and used a frame die to cut the entire piece before mounting in on a black cs base layer.  Sharpie pens were used to color the "Be Cool" message.

It was not a quick and easy card to make, but I so enjoyed the process.  What a fun stamp this is.

I hope you found some inspiration.

Technique Junkies has a ton of fabulous stamps to play with....go shopping and use my discount for any stamps you like (Sorry...those from August 2017 Release are not included) for a 10% discount on your entire order of stamps.

Happy stamping!

Strong Women

This card uses the August release stamp from Technique Junkies Stamps called Strong Women -
www.techniquejunkies.com/strong-women/  .  I also used two lovely faces from the Technique Junkies set called Beautiful Faces - http://techniquejunkies.com/beautiful-faces/  .
.

The faces are colored in with Copic markers.  The verse is heat embossed with Versafine black ink and clear embossing powder.  I sponged in the background.

The flowery paper is background paper.

Have a great day and get inky!
