Yupo, a Die and a Butterfly

Hello Technique Junkie Friends!

Lee Ann here today,   sharing a card using the technique of popping up die pieces from a background die- not sure if there is an actual name for this technique but I love the look of it.  With a few supplies- alcohol ink, Yupo, Technique Junkies Butterfly 2 stamp, and a background die, I created a card with significant Wow factor.  Thinking you need the Butterfly 2 stamp?

I started with a piece of Yupo paper and some alcohol inks in pinks, yellows and oranges.  I created a simple striped Yupo panel.
Using a card front sized background die, I die cut from both a white piece of cardstock and the Yupo paper.  So there is an easy way and a hard way to do this.  I chose the hard way.  Yep, pretty much every time!
 I used Press n Seal Wrap to remove the die cuts from the dies and once the pieces were out of the die, I transferred the pieces to another piece of Press n Seal so that I could add adhesive to the back of the pieces I was using.  While still on the Press n Seal so that the placement of the pieces stayed exactly where they were in the die, I adhered them to the card front.
It was a bit of a learning process; in reality, I should have put the adhesive on the backs of the pieces while then were still in the die and then adhere them to the card front.  Next time...
I used this popped up background for my Butterfly 2 that was colored with Copics and fussy cut out.

There were a lot of pieces left from these die cuts; you can see what I did with them on March 1st during the release hop!

One Umbrella

Hello Junkies!

To make my card I started with a top folding watercolor card base and a panel cut down with a stitched die. I stamped the Survive Together image using Versafine ink and then masked it off and then using a couple distress oxides in Broken China and Faded Jeans I stamped the Paint Rings image for the background to mimic water droplets. Since the oxide inks react with water, I spritzed a little water over the image.

Cock-A-Doodle-Do

I love the look of kraft, black, and white, so decided to use it for this card, featuring the handsome rooster from the Keep Chickens Set of 13 Stamps.

I white-embossed the rooster on a panel of black card stock, and attached it to an A2 card front.  I die-cut a stitched circle (Die-namics dies) from a kraft piece of card stock, and stamped the chicks from the same stamp set partially around the circle, and white-embossed cock-a-doodle-do, curving the stamp when I placed it on the block.  I used craft foam and tape to attach the panel to the card.
A strip of black and white striped dp and a few black enamel dots finish off the card.  Easy-peasy.

Just a Little More Chicken, Please!

I sure hope you aren't too sick of these chickens, because I still can't seem to get enough of them.  I am getting ready for my knee replacement and these cluckers are just the thing I need to ease my stress!

For this card, I simply layered a couple of matted pieces of cardstock on my card base. I die cut the frame section and laid that on a white piece of CS and lightly traced the inside of the windows so I would know where to stamp my images. Using little sticky notes, I masked off the area to be stamped and added my chicken, repeating the process for each window. I then colored the images using some Zig Clean Color Markers. I adhered the stamped panel to the back of the frame. I added some fiber ribbon to the matted panels, then placed the stamped panel on that using foam adhesive. The ribbon kind of reminded me of hay. 

While it looks like a lot of work went into this card, it really was quite simple. And the end result is just plain fun. Here is a pic of the full set:

CELEBRATE IN STYLE

Hello Junkies!  

I am totally IN LOVE with this stamp "Vogue Kitty" from the February 2018 Release collection.   She's a fashionista with cat'itude and reminds me of the Disney movie, 'Aristocats' and it's only from the posture she portrays here, and oh, yes...I had to pair her with the sentiment "Celebrate in Style" .

To create this card, I stamped "vogue kitty" directly on the white card base, positioning it with a template I made of a negative heart.  I used the same template to position my heart die on the raspberry colored cs in order to get an off the edge look.  After cutting the opening, I ran it through an embossing folder then adhered it around the stamped image.  I colored the kitty with Copic Markers (just shading and some pink ribbon on the hat was all that was needed here).  For additional dimension, I added some pen dots around the edge of the heart opening.

This card was created with the Technique Junkies stamp Putting On Lipstick - www.techniquejunkies.com/putting-on-lipstick/.  I stamped it with Versafine black ink and heat embossed it.  The image is colored with Twinkling H2Os.

I created the background with a new product to me called Brusho - which are highly pigmented powders you sprinkle on and then mist with water.   I heat set the wet water color card stock, and did it again in areas where I wanted more pigment.  I purchased some recently at Stamp Fest in Florida.  I added some layers and pearls and rhinestones embellishments.
