COUNTRY CHURCH IN DOUBLES

Hi there Junkies!!!

Can you handle a couple of more Christmas cards?  I know you're all probably ready to see the end of Christmas card posts, so don't shoot me...I'm bringing you my last Christmas card post...PROMISE.   (But, I love making Christmas cards...I really do).

In my last few posts, I've been showing you two cards using one stamp and it's a way to get double the value for your stamps and helps cut down on time making cards.  That's a win/win.

If you like the stamps I've used here and would like to purchase them or any others in the Technique Junkies Stamps store, please go ahead and use my personal code (TJ10CHERI) at checkout for a 10% reduction on your entire order of stamps and other products.

The stamps I used for both of these cards are "Country Church" and a sentiment from "Gifts of Christmas Set of 5".  Country Church is a great Christmas stamp, but it has unlimited possibilities such as a wedding card, baptism, anniversary, sympathy or perhaps a birthday card for someone.  Lots of mileage can be gained from that stamp.  It's a beauty.

To get the image results shown here, using my MISTI, I stamped the church in bright dye color inks on a white card stock panel.  Leaving the stamp in the same position on the MISTI, and without cleaning the stamp, I took a darker ink (Clair) and inked the stamp in various places along the edges and within the image itself.  Then, without cleaning the stamp again, I inked the stamp one more time with the same bright color, but just in the center area, and stamped again.  The results were stunning!!!  The inks trick the eye into seeing depth and layers of texture.

The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark Ink, then heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Give this technique a try and have some creative fun.  Don't forget, you have my coupon code if you'd like some new stamps and products for yourself.

TJ Inkspirations: Blended Dimensions

I had a blast playing "Mad Scientist" a few weeks ago. I was experimenting with combinations of different products to see how they would react together. My original thought was to try what is in this video, so I was really happy that it turned out the way it did.

Today I am here to show you how to combine Nuvo Embellishment Mousse with Technique Junkies Shimmering Bliss to create custom colors with a ton of dimension. It is really easy to do, and so very pretty! The resulting product retains the shimmer of Shimmering Bliss while still having the Metallic from the Mousse.

I added a new Bundle to the site so that you can play, too.  The bundle allows you to pick out 3 sprays, a stencil, and one Nuvo Embellishment Mousse so you may pick colors you like yourself! Just add Bundle 9 to your cart and let me know your choices in the comments when you check out.

Don't forget out annual clearance sale.I have a huge collection of overstock stamps -- both cling-mountedand unmounted - at terrific prices. Many of them are marked down 50% or more. Here are the links to the sale:

One background, five cards.

Hello friends!! Giovana here today with a set of cards using the same background and different sentiments!!

For this project I used Stained Glass Background for all my cards! This background is so pretty, you will need it in your stash.
Stamp your background on a piece of white cardstock in any color ink, leave your stamp on your Misti, then blend Distress and Distress Oxides Inks on panels, then just be sure the inks are dried, add panels back to your Misti and ink your stamp again with Versamark Watermark and add Gold Embossing powder, heat set the panels.
Then, die-cut the panels and add then to white card bases.

I used a variety of sentiments, so let's get started.

These 2 cards are Christmas cards.

For this card I used the berries from Seasons Greetings Set and the Merry Christmas 2 sentiment.
The berries were stamped on a piece of watercolor paper and colored with Color Burst Powders.

For this card I used the snowflake and sentiment from Snowflakes set of 9.
I stamped the snowflake on a piece of light blue cardstock in Versamark Watermark ink, then added Gold Embossing powder and heat set it, fussy cut it and adhered it to a white snowflake.

These is 2 non-Christmas cards, with inspirational sayings.

For this card I used the Be Silly Sentiment.

For this card I used one of the sentiments from Typewriter Set.
Love the small sentiments, they are encouraging!

For this last card I used one of the sentiments from Grand Greetings Set.

Hope you like these set of cards!
Just remember one background can be used for different occasions!

You can get these stamps with a 10% discount using my code TJ10Giovana.

Have a wonderful day!

Water Color Marker Winter Foliage

For my birthday, I used the gift certificates I received and bought myself a new set of Kuretake Art & Graphic Twin Markers.  They are a Water-based Dye Ink which reacts beautifully with water.  I was inspired by add them to my art arsenal after taking an online Make Merry Holiday Card Class with Julie Ebersole.

Julie demonstrated a lovely marker technique on Acrylic Stamps ... so I wanted to do a riff on that technique using the gorgeous red rubber of Technique Junkies Winter Foliage background stamp.  Remember, you can use my code TJ10Stephanie for 10% off your entire Technique Junkies store order.

Rather than color precisely, I used the brush end of the marker and just scribbled all over the back of my stamp, blending several colors together as I went.

I attached the stamp where I wanted it on my MISTI before I started coloring, then when the stamp was covered with ink, I spritzed a few times with water and stamped onto watercolor paper.

I was able to pull two prints from the stamp ... the first print is the original and the one still on the MISTI was made by spritzing with water a second time (no additional coloring) and stamping.  The red rubber releases the ink more thoroughly than the acrylic, so you don't get as many impressions before coloring again, but I love the subtle variation of the two images.

This is my finished group of images ... I love the ethereal effect you get from this Winter Foliage image with a few more spritzes of water ... you really can't go wrong.

For the first one, I just trimmed it and attached it to an A4 Kraft Card Base.  I was able to stamp the All is Calm Sentiment directly on to the inky background.

I just love how those ink colors blend together ... just like all of the real green and green-blue variation you see in all the different kinds of holiday foliage.

For the next one, I used the colors from the Sunday Stamp Winter's Breath Color Challenge.

I mounted my stamped image on a darker green before attaching to a rosy pink card base.

I colored the berries with two shades of marker and then spritzed with water again to soften the overall effect of the design.

I added the same Technique Junkies All is Calm Sentiment and a wrap of pale ribbon inspired by the Inspiration Photo.

For the next card, I used one of the original darker prints and splattered with with shimmering white paint.  I didn't get quite the contrast I'd hoped for (need to get a better opaque white paint for splatters), but I still loved the overall shimmery effect.

After loving the effect of the shimmering paint, I decided to see what would happened if I sprayed the entire stamped image with Shimmering Bliss Spray ... I chose Miami Vice Shimmering Bliss Spray on one of the secondary stampings.

That gorgeous shimmer is so hard to capture in a photograph ... but trust me, this baby has all over shimmery beauty.  I stamped the A Very Merry Christmas Sentiment directly on the background with Black Ink.

I hope you'll give coloring your background stamps a try.
