Joy In Your Journey

As January heads into it's last week, and I reflect on this first month of the new year, I realize that I did not make any new year's resolutions.  I don't usually, as I find them difficult to keep.  I really just strive to be the best version of myself.  If I do that, then everything else falls into place somehow.  I am just relaxing, and finding joy in my journey.

For my card, I used Technique Junkies stamp Joy In Your Journey.

I inked the stamp with distress ink, and stamped it onto pale green card stock, then cut it out and mounted it to a blue panel.  I wrapped some gold fiber around it, and added some pearl accents.  I colored the white pearls with my gold Krylon pen.
On a panel of white card stock, I ran a green distress oxide pad down and across the panel.  I repeated this with a blue distress oxide pad.  I love the background this technique creates.  I added the panel to an A2 card front, then mounted my main image panel to it with foam tape for dimension.

As this month comes to a close, how are you finding your new year going?  Are you finding joy in your journey?  Hopefully it is going well for you, and as expected.

I hope you found inspiration in my card.  For a 10% discount on your Technique Junkies order, just use my code, TJ10Lynda.

Valentine cards

Happy Saturday Technique Junkies!
It's Ceal here. Valentines is right around the corner so I am here to share a couple of cards with you.
Remember you can save 10% off your order by using my code TJ10Ceal

My first sample uses the Paris Postmarks background stamp and the You Are so Loved sentiment
I started with a white top folding card base and a piece of white cardstock, cut down with a postage stamp die. To create the background, I blended Victorian Velvet distress oxide and then stamped the background using VersaMark ink and embossed it using Rose Gold embossing powder. I also embossed the greeting in rose gold as well.

My next sample uses the Hugs and Kisses sentiment and the Scribble Roses stencil. To create this card I started with a white top folding card base and a white panel cut down a quarter of an inch smaller. I stamped the sentiment in the center and then used a mask to cover it while I used the stencil around the parameter. To finish the card I die cut some hearts out and ink blended behind he negative space.

Fun with Snowflakes

I was thinking to myself that I was over this winter and snow stuff. I was wrong! With all the newly fallen snow outside, I was motivated to bring out my snowflake stash one more time to create a couple of fun wreath-style snowflake cards.

I've been wanting to do some cards in this style for some time now, so I decided to make a template using my Silhouette Cameo. I cut it out of heavy duty cardboard (it took a LOT of passes, lol!) but it turned out perfect!  I selected some snowflake stamp sets (listed below) and my ink colors, and stamped a couple of snowy cards.

If you are wondering how this came about, I placed the template in the stamp positioner and placed my first stamp. I stamped it, turned the cardstock, stamped again, turned the cardstock, stamped, etc.

After I completed the first "circle", I selected the next stamp and positioned it where I wanted it. Then began stamping and turning to complete that pattern. I repeated the process with the other stamps.

Once the wreath was completed, I added some beautiful shimmer using Shimmering Bliss (Iridescent). I matted the panel and attached it to a card base. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of cardstock and trimmed it down with a tail. That was then attached with foam tape and some jewel elements were added for extra sparkle. Just look at the shine on this card!

The next card was basically completed in the same manner.

For the snowflake in the center, I stamped off on a scrap piece of paper, then stamped on the cardstock, which gave it a lighter, more background feel so it didn't overpower the sentiment. You can really see the shimmer on this close-up!

I used four stamp sets on these cards:

    Snowflakes, Set of 9 (SS098)

I also used Shimmering Bliss in Iridescent to give the cards their beautiful shimmer.

The other supplies used included: Cardstock; Foam Tape; Memento Ink (Love Letter, Bahama Blue, Teal Zeal, Summer Sky); Versamark Ink; White Embossing Powder; and Little Things By Lucy's Cards (Mermaid, Ice Cube Mix); Homemade Template made with Silhouette Cameo; Stamping Platform.

I hope you're not too sick of the snow to get out your snowflakes and play! If you like the TJ supplies listed here, you can save 10% on your order by entering the code below at checkout!

    Warm and Cozy

    Good Morning!!!

I hope you are all enjoying a nice weekend. Here in Kingston, we are having our first official "real" winter storm. It has been snowing since yesterday with a temperature of -18c. That truly is an anomaly because normally it won't snow at that temperature. That being said, we are warm and cozy at home with our two fireplaces blazing.

This card is quite appropriate for a blustery winter day isn't it?
This set is called Happy Winter Wishes

I coloured the image with copics as I wanted some Brightness~~~~

Hope you stay warm and cozy today

    Not My Circus

Happy Saturday, Technique Junkies! It's Janelle here today with a burst of Shimmering Bliss for a circus and monkey card!

    Use code TJ10Janelle at checkout!

When I saw the Not My Circus stamp I thought shimmering sunburst of color, so that was my inspiration for this card. Grab your Shimmering Bliss Sprays and let's have some fun making a sunburst of color for Not My Circus stamp!

For the colors on the sunburst, I used Shimmering Bliss Sprays in Thulian Pink, Imperial Yellow, and Miami Vice.

My method for creating the sunburst was to quickly spray three 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch white cardstock with each Shimmering Bliss Sprays and then stack them before cutting them. Color side down mark around the edges halfway on each side, top, and bottom, then the sides once more so there are four bursts. The top and bottom get the same done, but you'll notice that I was in another universe when I measured mine and made six sunbursts! On a white cardstock score across the center horizontally and vertically at 2-1/8 inch and 2-3/4 inch. This will help you glue from the exact center for your card. Start gluing each piece from one of the scored lines and go around until they are all glued on. You will have extras to make another card, too!

I colored Not My Circus with colored pencils that were close in hue to the sprays and then used an oval die cut for a fun focal shape. Pop it up with adhesive foam, That's it!
