Plant Smiles, Grow Giggles, Harvest Love | Card for Garden or Plant Lover

Hello everyone!  Design Team Member Michael here with a quick card you can make for that plant or gardening lover in your life.  One of the things I love about Brasil is the weather.  Yes, we get winter but it never goes below freezing and that means I can have a garden all year round.

I wanted to make a card for a person in town who has the most amazing so I decided to pair the Worn Leaves Background with the Plant Smiles sentiment.

  • I made a top-folding A2 card using white cardstock and adhered a piece of light pink cardstock to the card front.
  • I found a piece of scrapbook paper with a nice vintage design, stamped the Worn Leaves Background with Versamark ink, and embossed it using green embossing powder, and adhered it to my card front after die-cutting it with a stitched rectangle.
  • Next, I stamped Plant Smiles using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on white cardstock, die-cut it using a stitched rectangle die, layered it on a piece of the same light pink cardstock, and adhered it to my card front.
  • Lastly, I used a yellow marker on the words Plant, Grow, and Harvest and then I adhered some silver crystals to the sentiment.
I left the inside blank where I will write my message to the garden lover.  I hope you loved this card idea.  If you like the stamps I used, you can save 10% at checkout by using my code TJ10Michael.  Thanks for stopping by the blog today.

Hugs from Brasil.

Yard Sale

This wonderful new Snail with Whimsical Mushrooms stamp is so fun to color!  Here, I limited the palette to earth tones and added some coordinating watercolor splatter.  The sentiment is from the Inside Out: Size Matters set.  Inside it says, "Some are just looking for yard sales."  Check out these and all the wonderful new and older releases at techniquejunkies.com.  Use my code, TJ10FAITH for 10% off!

Fun Creations with September release stamps

Good morning! Can you believe that September is coming to a close? Where does the time go?
Today I am sharing 4 cards that I made with a variety of the new September releases and I paired them with previously released stamps.
Check them out!

This was done with the Worn Leaves background, Inside Out: Young at Heart and the Old Man. I put the leaves stamp in the Misti and used night of navy and green stamping it twice to get good coverage. I swiped the night of navy ink pad over the mat as I didn't have any more navy card stock and I did the same thing with the green matting! Dimensionals for the sentiment and the old man. Inside it reads, "(Slightly older in other places)

For this creation I used the Gothic Skull background paired with the new Spidery Halloween. Quick creation to make. I just used regular white card stock and did an ink, spray, smash with orange and pink inks and water on craft mat. I smooshed the paper directly onto the mat. A bit of black yarn and a button and of course, some more dimensionals! I used a black mat for the skulls.

The name is so fitting for this new stamp, Snail with Whimsical Mushrooms and a sentiment and bee from Bee Quotes . Colored up with a variety of Zig watercolor brush markers. Some dazzle Shimmering Bliss painted on the bee, a half circle adorned with rhinestones and the sentiment popped on dimensional. The green is from some designer paper but sadly, I don't know the name!

Lastly, I have another Halloween creation done with the super fun set released this month called The Halloween Scene, Set of 12. I also used the sentiment Happy Halloween. I created my hills with scrap paper and masking and then sponging on my gray and black. And then stamped my crazy scene!

Cheers!

Sympathy Cards

Welcome to my Technique Junkies blog post today

using the new Worn Leaves background stamp

With this stamp I did the watercolour technique...

I rubbered my markers onto the stamp - then spritzed

with water - then stamped.

Along with the Worn Leaves stamp I used the Difficult Time set

This first card I added a few flower punches

The next card a few micro beads

This technique worked so well with this background stamp.

Drop A House

Hey Crafty Friends -

As soon as I saw the Drop A House stamp it took me back to my childhood. First thought was the Wiz. Classic movie I watch annually at a minimum in my household. My next thought was the Broadway show Wicked as to the colors in my first card.

To create the look on this card I did the following:
  • I stamped the Drop A House stamp in black ink on a piece of white card stock I die cut with Scrappy Boy Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die.
  • The Honeycomb Mask Stencil was laid on top of the image. I carefully used my blending brush and Black Soot Distress Oxide around the mat being mindful not to go over the image.
  • I placed the mat on top of a piece of white card stock I die cut with Scrappy Boy Stitched Scalloped Edge dies. I then adhered it to a Halloween themed patterned paper by Close to My Heart.
  • I colored the image using Spectrum Noir Tri blend markers. I decided at the last minute to stamp the house a second time. I colored the image, fussy cut it out and popped it up with 3-D foam tape to add dimension.
  • I wanted "Drop & On" to stand out! I pulled out green Stickles I had never used before. Great way to rediscover my supplies. :-)
  • To finish off the card I add a few Googly eyes.
The second card I created a shaker card using the Drop A House and All About Halloween stamp set.

I hope you were inspired. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting! Oh and don't forget to use my discount code on the TJ website at checkout. TJ10Shalana
