Ann's Card for Father

Ann Clack here!  I hope that your summer is wonderful.....Oregon has just started their summer with TWO days of sunshine in a row.......!!!!  Here is a card I made for my hubby's daddy for Father's Day.  I used the Technique Junkie technique called Antique Wallpaper from the most recent newsletter.  It is so easy and I just love the results.  I ended up doing the deer oval THREE times!!  I wanted to stamp the leaves and grass around the deer but didn't want the stamping on the oval's border.  After two attempts and failures I decided that I would just draw it in!!  I do LOVE my itty bitty copic multiliners.  Their fine lines really make drawing stuff wonderful!  Hope you are inspired to get cards done for your daddy's!

Hetty is into patchwork

How about some patchwork for your 4th of July cards? On this 1st card I used a FREE DIGITAL STAMP from FireCracker Design by Pamela. The digital stamp is colored with markers.The stars in the background are from a rubber Christmas set called:Season's Greetings and are stamped on top of the sponged color. The words are from an old FCD set. There is more FireCracker Design news on my Chraftchaos Blog

This patchwork card is made with only stamps from Hero Arts. The stich stamp is also used on the card above. I just love this little robot stamp.

Up and Over

Happy Tuesday, Fellow Junkies! Jane Bosi, here, sharing a card featuring the Up and Over technique (June/July 2010). This is a great technique when you are looking for something elegant and sophisticated!

I've used one of my favorite new images from I Brake For Stamps, Floral Silhouette Bouquet. This is a great stamp--very versatile and compatible with many of our techniques. I'm not sure what it is that draws the eye to a silhouette, but the combination of this image and technique actually made me gasp out loud!

The sentiment, "Nothing is worth more than this day" is another favorite of mine and can be found in Papertrey Inks set called Everyday Blessings.

Walnut Ink Stain

Hi everybody!! Kathie McGuire here today with the Walnut Ink Resist technique from 4/08.

This technique is so fast and easy and I'm always amazed at how stunning the results are! Have you tried it??

With such a stunning background, I decided to keep the card simple and add embellishments that wouldn't compete with the watery stained look that the technique creates. So, I added a small bit of tule by wrapping it around the technique layer like a package and then just taped it in the back. Easy! Then I added my matting and attached all of that to the card base.

Lastly, I added the stick pin with a few beads from my stash and held them all on the pin by putting a little bit of tacky glue on the last bead.

Technique By Design June Challenge

Hello Junkies! Welcome to the June Blog Hop revealing wonderful pieces of Artwork from the latest Technique Junkie Newsletter! We have another sketch challenge for you with the June issue of the newsletter and we would LOVE for you to participate! All of the details and the sketch are on the June/ July Newsletter - you must be a subscriber though to access this page!

Aren't design sketches just great fun to use? They certainly encourage me to not be in a rut and always use the same layout for nearly every card! This particular sketch uses elements that were easy to use and yet stretched my thinking as well. I wanted to use a background stamp that wasn't completely filled in with a design or pattern. I also wanted to do something with nature since it is Spring. I am so looking forward to a long summer season of warm weather. I am tired of snow, rain, and cold temperatures. I also wanted to use coordinating colors in order to make the different aspects of the card blend together so my card would have a cohesive feel. As is often the case, this card sort of morphed together as I worked. All of the techniques for this card are from the June/July 2010 issue of the Technique Junkie newsletter. The left panel uses the Background Whimsy technique and the stamp is from Stampin' Up! All of the other stamps I used are from the Artistic Outpost Birds of A Feather set. I love that set! The right hand panel used the Patchwork technique. I over stamped that piece with the text stamp from the AO stamp set. I added some zigzag stitching on my sewing machine. My sewing machine really does sew evenly, I purposely changed the stitch length as i sewed. It is an element that adds visual interest. The focal image and the strip at the bottom both used the pulled glimmers technique. My little embellishment is a button from my stash. I really like the way this card turned out. The way all of the elements work together and add visual interest certainly adds to the success of the card.

Metallic Rose Technique By Design

Hello TJ friends. Kathie McGuire here with today's featured project. The design for this card comes from the first Technique By Design challenge a few months ago. I loved the easy layout and design and found that it was the perfect way to use up all of those TJ scraps that I've saved for so long.

This card features two of my all time favorite techniques: Nail Polish (4/04) and Starch Smoosh (8/09). The Grunge Rose (focal point) is something that I seem to be using on everything since they are so fast to make and so easy! Plus, I got to recycle some old silk metallic poinsettias from Christmas decorations as leaves for this flower.
