Splashes of Pink and Balance

It is Saturday and time for a little balance from the week, let's get some crafting time in with a long-legged bird that looks phenomenal in pink! I'm talking about the new Flamingo stamp from the June release, click here to see all the new stamps.

There is a 10% discount available!

This card was quite simple to make and the dry times were the longest part of the process, but if you're in a hurry, you can use a heat tool, mini fan or your hair dryer to speed up the dry time.

Supplies:
Instructions:
  1. Make pink paint resist with a small drop of Fuschia Color Burst mixed in white craft paint.
  2. Dab the paint through the Circle Make Circles stencil on the front of a white cardstock folded in half for a card base. This will be a resist for the next step
  3. Paint Turquoise Color Burst that is diluted with water in a loose side-to-side motion over the dry stenciled card base. Try to only do this in one pass across the paper otherwise it may seep under the pink paint resist and muddy the design. Set aside to dry.
  4. Stamp Flamingo and Balance on One Leg with black ink onto 4 by 5-1/4 inch white cardstock or watercolor paper.
  5. Dilute Fuschia Color Burst with water and color flamingo. Use diluted turquoise to paint water at the feet of the flamingo.
  6. Once dry, doodle a border with a black pen.
  7. Glue onto stenciled card base!
Thank you for stopping by today and have a great weekend!

It may seem odd, but I have two videos for you today.  First, we have an artwork video showing all of the artwork from the June 2018 release from the Technique Junkies Designers. Keep in mind that the June stamps are still 15% off and will be through midnight tonight (6-8-18).

Second, we have a fun video tutorial using Distress Oxide Inks and stamps to create an Ombre background. It is super-easy and fun too.

Here is the video with all the artwork:

Happy Father's Day

Hello friends! Hope you are having a fantastic day!
Today, I want to share with you a super simple Father's Day card!

For this project I used the new "Anchors Background" and "Happy Father's Day" stamps.

Details:
  • Start stamping the "Anchors Background" on a piece of white cardstock in Blue Ink, then wipe your stamp and ink it up with Versamark Watermark Ink on top, then add Clear Embossing powder and heat set. Your MISTI is a great tool to do the perfect stamping.
  • After that, apply Broken China Distress Ink all over the image. Trim image, I did 3.75" x 5"
  • Stamp "Happy Father's Day" sentiment on a piece of white cardstock. Adhere it to background piece.
  • Adhere panel to a white card base. Tie twine around the sentiment.
  • Add a stamped or die-cut anchor.
You have until tomorrow to take advantage of the 15% off discount on our June Release, no code needed.
If you want to get an extra discount to the sentiment, you can use my TJ10Giovana code

Hope you like this project.
Have an amazing day!

Old Friends on Designer Papers

One of my favorite techniques is stamping on designer paper.  I thought it would be fun to see the different looks I could achieve with the wonderful photo-realistic Technique Junkies Old Friends stamp.

Remember, if you go shopping at Technique Junkies, use my discount code TJ10Stephanie at checkout for 10% off your purchase.

I searched through my designer paper scraps for a selection of papers to try.  I started with this teal marbled paper and Versafine CLAIR Warm Breeze Ink.

One key to remember (especially when using a stamp with faces) is to make sure there aren't patterned elements that obscure the faces.  I positioned this image so that the faces were in the white portion of the marbling.

You could also add color to the boat or swimsuits, but I chose to go with a monochromatic design for each card, so you could see the different effects I achieved with just a single color of ink.

For this one I used VersaFine CLAIR Acorn Ink on a piece of Birch Bark designer paper.

And my final one used Chianti VersaFine CLAIR ink on a piece of pink patterned paper.

I will warn you, once you start playing with different inks and paper scraps, it can get quite addictive ... so fun to see what you get with the different combinations.

Now to go put these in the mail to some of my dearest friends across the miles (you know you've got friends who would love to receive some mail from you ... go mail those cards).

Sunflower Kisses

Hello fellow stamper!  I love sunflowers and love this one a lot because there are so many ways to use it.  This one I kept pretty simple.  If you look closely you can see that I used Twinkling H2O's around the edges of my flower in a turquoise to coordinate with my Tempting Turquoise mat paper.

Currently you can receive this stamp at 25% off as it is a Technique Junkie new release.  This discount is good until June 8th (really, it's June already?!).  On top of that you can receive 10% off anything else in the store just by using my code TJ10Beth.  Now that's a deal!

My sunflower stamp is called Sunflower Duo and uses the sentiment from Sunflower Sentiments, Set of 2.

Write Your Secrets in the Sand

I used the lovely Technique Junkies Mermaid Kisses stamp set -
www.techniquejunkies.com/mermaid-kisses-set-of-5/ .  I used an acrylic block pressed into a couple of ink pads, and spritzed with water to stamp the ocean waters.  I die cut some sea weed from vellum. Then I layered a white on white frame popped up with dimensionals.  The mermaid and starfish were colored with Copic markers. The mermaid is also popped up.

Please remember that all of the June Technique Junkies Stamps releases are on sale for 15% off through June 8.  In addition, you can get 10%  off of everything else that is not on sale by using the code TJ10Judy.

Have a great day -- and get inky!

Starfish Wreath

Hello to Everyone!

Happy Summer to you!  I was blessed to just spend a week in the mountains and now look forward to a relaxing and crafty summer!  Here's to plenty of crafty time for everyone this summer!
Today's beachy card is made using the brand new Mermaid Kisses Stamp Set.  It is currently 15% off (through June 8th) as are all of the other new release stamps.

My background panel was made by dragging watercolor paper through distress inks that were smooshed onto my craft mat and then spritzed with water.  I dried after each 'drag' and then repeated the process, building up multiple layers of color.
I used the starfish from the Mermaid Kisses stamp set and stamped them in a circular fashion (I lightly traced a circle in pencil, then stamped the starfish, using the circle as my template).  I then fussy cut around the circle/wreath of starfish, on both the outside of the ring and the inside of the ring.  The starfish wreath was then brushed with Wink of Stella.
A piece of linen twine was wrapped around the starfish wreath and sequins added for more sparkle.
The sentiment, Together, was stamped in a teal ink and nested within the wreath.

If you are interested in purchasing products other than the new release stamps, you can get 10% all of the items with code TJ10LeeAnn!

That's it for me- I hope you find this easy card inspirational!
