Seeds of Today

Happy Sunday!  Lynda Joy here, with a quick and easy card for today's inspiration.
While I have really enjoyed creating so many holiday cards these past few weeks, I'm ready to get back to some every day stamping.
Technique Junkies stamps:
Dogwood Blossom
Seeds of Today

I chose this lovely little dogwood stamp, and kept my card to two colors to keep it simple.  I inked the stamp in my Misti, using distress minis.  I added the lightest colors first, then gradually built up to the darker shading colors.  I love the Misti for this technique.

I added some additional color to the flower with pastel pencils, and blended it out with a tortillion.

The verse was stamped with cocoa ink.  I added some distressed edges with distress ink and a brush, then layered it onto a green panel, then onto the card.

That is it!  Easy-peasy.  I hope you are able to find some time to create today.  It feels good to be back in my craft room after all of the holiday festivities.

Birthday Sunflower

Hello everyone, it's Ceal here to share a card with you today.
I can't believe Christ has come and gone and now it is time to stock up on birthday cards.
For my card I used one of my favorites, Single Sunflower along with the Textured Newsprint and Happy Birthday sentiment. You can save 10% on these stamps and your entire order by using my code TJ10Ceal.

To create the card I started with a white top folding card base, a panel of black onyx for the mat, a couple panels of watercolor paper for the image and background. I stamped the Textured Newsprint on the one of the watercolor paper panels and then spritzed it with Dolphin Cove Shimmering Bliss. Next I stamped the Single Sunflower on the other panel of watercolor paper and then stamped the Textured Newsprint on top and colored it using Copic markers. I fussy cut it out and added it to the front of the card and to finish it up I added a birthday greeting.

Christmas Rose

Hello all, Kia here with you today to share this beautiful Christmas Rose. I wondered what the Rose would look like with an alcohol ink background, so that is where I went with this card.
On Yupo paper and using Tim Holtz Alcohol Pearl Ink in Intrique, I did a basic background waiting for the ink to become tacky before applying gold foil to random areas.

I then let the piece dry thoroughly before stamping the Rose using Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black, which took a few passes.
I then attached the piece to my card base and decided not to stamp a sentiment as I think I will use it for a thank you card. When I decide I can always stamp it then.

Thank you for joining Technique Junkies today. This is my last post with the Design Team. I have very much enjoyed my time here and wish to thank Jeanne for the opportunity. I would also like to wish both Jeanne and Pat continued success.

Merry Christmas Penguin

I used three Technique Junkies stamps to create this card: Let's Chill, Retro Sparkles,  and Merry Christmas 2.  The snow is torn card stock that is sponged with navy ink. The Retro Sparkles image is heat embossed, as is the greeting.

If you use my Design Team code TJ10Judy you will get 10% off!! Wow!!

Have a wonderful day -- and get inky!

Gold Holiday Lights

Hi Junkies, it's Holly posting today.  There's only three more days til Christmas, so I'm posting my last holiday TJ card for the year.  I wanted to do something different with the Christmas Lights stamp, so I embossed it with gold embossing powder and watercolored each bulb with an iridescent gold watercolor paint.  The sentiment, from the Poinsettias set, was embossed with the same gold embossing powder.  I fussy-cut that and popped it up with foam tape.

Before I adhered this to my card base, I decided I wanted a gold mat between my black card and the stamped lights piece.  The gold cardstock I had did not match my embossing powder, so I employed an easy trick.  I inked up the edges of some black paper with Versamark, covered them with the gold embossing powder, and melted the powder with a heat tool.  I love the seamless transition from my gold sentiment to the gold lights to my gold "framing."

I hope you all have a wonderful and happy holiday with your friends and family.
