Inside Out: I Love Snow (Not!)

Hi, Stamping Friends! It's Ro here with you today. I have been having a blast playing with the newest Inside Out set, I Love Snow. The sentiments in this set are an absolute hoot! The card I created today has both the outside and the inside on the outside, which leaves a great space inside for a personal note!

INSIDE OUT: I LOVE SNOW (SS130)
Coffee Kitty (SD735)

This card expresses my sentiment EXACTLY! lol

It was a simple card to create. I started with some Kraft cardstock which I made into an A2 card base. I added a couple of sticker snowflakes and rounded the corners. On another piece of Kraft cardstock I used a die to cut out a large oval and added a black shaded border using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink with an Ink Blending Brush. I popped that panel onto the front of the card using foam adhesive. On some white cardstock, I stamped the Kitty (not one of the new releases), colored in the cup and eyes, and cut it out (I use a Brother Scan-N-Cut because I'm just not a fussy-cutter type person). I placed the cutout on the panel and added some more sticker snowflakes and dots. I also added a heart to the cup. The sentiments were stamped on black cardstock and white embossed. I trimmed them down and cut the edges. I popped those on the card with foam tape and added a couple more stickers.

If you're curious about all the sentiments included in this newest Inside Out set, here they are:

And the best part is, all the new stamps are on sale until the 8th of the month! You get 15% off all new releases. AND...if you add my special discount code below, you get another 10% off the new stuff, and 10% off everything else!

January Love - 2 Cards

Today I am sharing 2 Valentines I made for some of my grandchildren  - I have 8!  I am using the new Valentine Heart Border to create my cards for my grandchildren.  So you see this border stamp from time to time this month.    I used markers on the heart border.  I had the stamp in my stamping platform  and it made it easy to assembly line fashion stamp the border on every panel for the fronts of the cards.  I was also able to add more ink and stamp over the image in exactly the same place until I was satisfied with the stamped image.

For the above card I also used Life Complete.  For the card below I used Love Harlequin for the background.  I also used Life Complete for the focal greeting.  It is bordered by red glitter paper.

Technique Junkies has a lot of Valentine stamps.  Many are good for grandchildren and many are good for the "love of your life."  So if you have  not begun your Valentines - please take a look!

Now, please remember you can get 25% off if you want all of the new January stamps and you can click on this link to see that! But if your budget is such you can't get them all, choose your favorites and be sure to buy them through January 8 and you will get an automatic 15% off! Then you can gain another 10% off by using the code TJ10Judy.

Have a great day, and be sure to take some time and get inky!!

Chill Skates

Hi Junkies!  It's Holly posting today.  Did you see the new January 2021 release stamps from Technique Junkies on Friday?  Aren't they fabulous??  I'm using another one of those new stamps today.  This Skating background stamp is gorgeous, and I had fun playing around with it.  For this card, I randomly dabbed some Wilted Violet and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide inks all over the Skating stamp.  Then I used my brayer to blend the inks and spread them out to the edges.  That's how you get all those different variations of color all over the background stamp.  I love how the edges seem a little frosty.  The sentiment is from the Let's Chill set and I stamped it with the Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink and cut it out with a circle die.

All of the January 2021 release stamps are on sale until January 8.  Be sure to use my code, TJ10Holly, for an additional 10% off for a total of 25% off all of the new release stamps.  Have fun shopping!

Happy Birthday

Hello fellow stampers!  Who says you have to use Gnome for Christmas, just for Christmas.  Stretch your imagination and think of other ways you can use your stamps.  Gnome for Christmas is a set that can easily be used for other occasions.  It's like getting two sets of stamps for the price of one.

Back in October, this card was sent to Pat Huntoon for her birthday.  The gnome was coloured with Prismacolor pencil crayons and OMS.

Take a look at your stamps and see how you can stretch them out.  You'll surprise yourself!

Create Joy

Greetings!  Lynda Joy here, with the blog post for today.  My card features one of my favorite collage stamps in the TJ line, and one of my favorite background techniques.

TJ Stamps Links:

How I made my card:
  • I created a background on coated card stock, using a rainbow stamp
pad and an acrylic brayer.  To do this, I ran the acrylic brayer along the stamp pad several times to really coat it with ink, then ran it onto the paper panel several times.
  • I repeated until I achieved the desired effects.  Because the brayer is acrylic, not rubber, it skips and drags in spots along the panel, which creates the unique look of the background.  The paper is coated and very smooth and similar to photo paper, without the shine.  Paper is key to this technique.  I have done it with glossy paper, and the look is similar, but with a high gloss finish.
  • I black embossed the Big Butterfly Collage onto the background panel, then attached it to an A2 card front.
  • On a small scrap of the panel, I black embossed the Create Joy  verse, and added that to the card with foam tape.
When I create backgrounds with a specific technique, I usually like to create several, since I have all the supplies out.  That way, when I need a card, I can just use one of the pre-made backgrounds, and stamp on it.  It makes for an easy, quick card.  And these collage stamps are perfect for this technique.

Thanks so much for visiting.  See you on Friday with the January release
samples.  Here's my code, TJ10Lynda for a 10% discount at the TJ store.

Blessings,
