Here's To Another Year

Deb here with another card from the current release .. I thought the Another Year stamp set was so much fun! And I couldn't decide on which sentiment to use, SO I used all 3 ..

  • On a piece of yellow cardstock, I stamped Happy Birthday with  Teal Zeal Memento ink  and the other sentiments with Sweet Plum Memento ink  .
  • I found this birthday-themed piece of 6x6 paper in my stash and thought it was perfect for this card .
  • I cut the top off the birthday paper   and used foam tabs to pop it up at the top of the piece that been trimmed to fit an A2 card base.
  • The stamped panel was adhered to the birthday paper with foam tabs, leaving that cool retro guy with his balloons and boom-box showing .
  • Several rhinestones were adhered to the stamped panel.

This is a fabulous stamp set for both feminine and masculine cards. You can shop at Technique Junkies with my code - TJ10Deb - to save 10% on your purchases. I hope you like my latest card and will continue to check out our Design Team blog for creations from all of my teammates ..

Pet Loss Sympathy Card

                                        Hello Friends

Today I’m sharing some ideas for a pet sympathy card using stamps, paws stencil, and some quick background color. But first I’d like to brainstorm the dog/cat with you.  The silhouette dog I used on the first card with the paw print background  is a dog punch from Stampin’ Up punch I bought a few years ago. If you don’t have a dog die or punch - no problem. On the second card I simply stamped a dog stamp using white ink on black card stock then cut it out. Tada! So you can turn almost any dog stamp into a silhouette for a card. Doesn’t it feel good to use what you have sometimes?!

Card 1
Supplies used:

- White card base
- Ink Blending brushes
- Light color ink pads in choice of colors
- Black ink pad
Other background stamps that would work well that you may already have wildflower silhouettes, thistle border
- Dog silhouette (I used a dog punch from Stampin’ Up)

Step 1) Lightly brush colors across the card. I generally have leftover ink on my brushes so I started with that. I alternated the colors yellow, blue, and pink.

Step 2) Stamp the thistle border stamp at the bottom of the card (landscape).
Step 3) Using the paws stencil I used a light blue ink and added paws on the front of the card and on both inside panels.
Step 4) Stamp the outside and inside sentiments.
Step 5) Add your silhouette dog to the front.

Optional idea:  Instead of stamping the word “dog” - you could instead write the name of the dog in blank ink.

Card 2

On this card I used a “Pug” stamp and inked it in white then stamped on black card stock.  I wasn’t concerned with much of the white ink actually showing.  I simply wanted an outline so I could cut it out. The faded white (it basically turns to a gray color unless you heat emboss and use white embossing powder) worked well with the results I wanted. A hint of definition of the pug works for me.  The background is a wash of blue on watercolor paper that I had previously made.

Be You

 Hello! (Chris here)

I loved this stamp as soon as I saw it.  First off... it has giraffes.  What is not to love?   The obvious of baby cards came to mind, but then I started thinking about spotlighting just one giraffe to make it stand out.   I wanted to make make it unique.  What a better way than to color it blue!
I thought this would be a fun reminder to someone that they are special.  There is only on you.

My Big Giraffe Love Family Snark!

I love my friends, family, dogs, giraffes and snarky stamps! Today's card celebrates several of those things: giraffes, family and snark! The Giraffe love stamp was great for the outside AND inside of the card. The sentiments used here are two of the sentiments from the 10-piece Inside Out: No Good Advice Set.

Congratulations Baby Cards with Giraffe Love

Hello all and Happy Saturday!  We all need a new baby card at times.  Today I am sharing two cards I made - one for a baby boy and the other for a baby girl - using Giraffe Love and one of the sentiments from Floral Framed Sentiments.

  • First, I stamped Giraffe Love on two pieces of white cardstock.   Then I die-cut them using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die, and colored them using some yellow, orange, and brown tones of markers.
  • I made 2 top-folding A2 cards - one baby pink and one baby blue.  Then I adhered a piece of fun foam behind each of the colored Giraffe Love pieces and glued one to each card front.   I used the 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die to cut another 2 pieces of white cardstock and I adhered one inside each card where a message will be written.

  • I stamped Congratulations twice from Floral Framed Sentiments, layered them on a piece of blue and pink cardstock, added a button and crystals, and adhered them to the card fronts.
Here are the two cards - one for a boy and one for a girl.

I hope you have enjoyed these card ideas for a new baby.  Make one of these and they will be kept for years and years.  Remember, if you go shopping on the Technique Junkies website (www.techniquejunkies.com), you can save 10% at checkout by using my discount code - TJ10Michael.
