Accordion Christmas Peace Booklet

Judy Jackson made this lovely accordion folded booklet spelling out PEACE at a friend's house under the tutelage of Carol Taggart -- another TJ'er. The overall dimensions of the covers are 3 3/4 inches by 4 1/2 inches. The inside pages are a wee bit smaller. She used bits of ribbons, cording, lace, tiny buttons, brads, vellum tags, glitter, and silk poinsettia flowers to embellish the pages. She used double sided background paper from Stampin' Up to decorate the pages. Stickles glitter is used on the berries on the cover. Liquid Pearl drops are used on the center of the silk poinsettias. The letters, words, and wreath are die cut using both Sizzix alphabet, Sizzlets, and Cuttlebug combination die cut/embossing folder. The little booklet folds up and ties with the ribbon on the front. A beautiful 3-D accent to decorate with for the Christmas season!

This card is made using the Warhol Technique from Technique Junkies. It uses images from the Stampin' Up set, Happiest of Holidays which is retired. Judy used a gold pen to add the gold lines from the holly and poinsettias. The holly berries are red Stickles. She embossed with black ink and clear powder on red and forest green card stock. She layered the 6 images on gold card stock, setting it all off with the red organdy ribbon, pearls, and gold cording. All of the above is then placed on black card stock -- an unusual color for Christmas but it sets off the images just perfectly. Merry Christmas everyone!

Today's creation for the TJ Holiday Blogtravaganza is from Designer Vada Schutz. She used the Floating Acetate Technique from the Feb 2006 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. The Santa stamp is from Stampers Anonymous, Snowflakes BG is Hero Arts.

Vada used White StazOn on the front and stamped Santa on printed Glossy w/ Black StazOn. Then she colored him in using marker watercoloring and chalks.

Since these cards are so hard to show off (because you can see through them : ), Vada took a picture against a quilt and then scanned it (below) also.
